I had been thinking about doing this reno for years and when I finally made the decision to proceed, I had no experience in renovations or choosing a contractor. So I posted a description of the work I wanted to do and proceeded to interview a number of respondents. From the get go, I immediately felt comfortable with Ricardo. There was something completely different about the way he approached the potential job. He came to the house to see where I was coming from and where I wanted to go. He took the time to send me renderings of what my reno could look like. This in itself was a time consuming process as I only had a vision in my head and he helped me get it on paper via multiple iterations. Once I was satisfied with the vision, he provided detailed pricing and payment structure. And then the journey began!! - Remove walls (yes, load bearing) and turn main floor into open concept living, dining, kitchen. Add new beams in the ceiling to replace load bearing walls. - Replace stucco ceiling with new dry wall (and as a bonus he added new insulation when he observed it was lacking - Install 20+ pot lights on 5 different switches - Brand new kitchen with custom cabinets, island, backsplash requiring new plumbing & electrical - Brand new kitchen with custom cabinets, island, backsplash requiring new plumbing & electrical - Replace hardwood flooring through out the entire main floor - thus new baseboards etc - New framing on all windows - Replace all closet doors and framing - Paint the entire main floor He targeted (and met!) 3 months to complete. He and his team were there every day, for long hard days to meet the committed timeline. His team was extremely professional and very pleasant. AND they cleaned up daily!! I am so pleased with the results that we are now in discussions to renovate my basement. I would not hesitate (and already have) to recommend Ricardo to anyone considering a renovations. He is a true professional and his knowledge, guidance and patience make him a pleasure to work with!

When I decided to replace my windows and front door, I interviewed at least 6 different companies. While Arctic was not the cheapest (or the most expensive by a long shot) a good part of rationale for selecting them was the way I was treated during the onsite sales visit. Unlike other companies, they spent a LOT of time explaining to me the different types of windows, pros & cons of each, the installation etc. Unlike others that I interviewed I was never made to feel foolish for not knowing these things nor did they ever ask for "the man of the house" as it which point they would have been escorted to the door as I did with more than 1 company!! I have not regretted my decision for a single minute! Through out the process I was kept informed of activities and timelines. Installers were very pleasant and not a scrap of garbage was left behind! I have had 2 very, very minor issues since with hardware (not the windows themselves) and both occasions within 24hrs of sending an email with the issue, someone was onsite to fix with no issues or cost to me. They even gave me a gift card to replace some plants that were damaged as a result of one of the issues - so much more than I ever would have expected. To say I am pleased with my decision to use Arctic is an understatement and would highly recommend them without hesitation!
