I used homestars to find Jeff from Creative Lines to paint our bedroom, son's room, bathroom and living room downstairs and am very glad I did. Jeff was very easy to work with over phone, email and text - all work was done during the holiday break from just after Christmas to just after New Year's, which was so amazing. All we had to do was supply the paint codes, and Jeff and his team did the rest - sanding, fixing, painting, everything even helped move some furniture. I felt very comfortable checking into a hotel for a few days while they worked, and we came home to find a transformed home. I highly recommend Jeff for any painting, the job itself was amazing - ceiling and walls look great, very straight lines. He's a natural. Jeff even came back to put on third coat of paint in the bathroom as the paint colour we chose needed it, at no extra charge just because otherwise it wouldn't look right to him - that kind of professionalism goes a long way.

I emailed Sean at Mapleleafwho called me back later on in the week and was able to come out the next day. He texted me that morning to say he'd be late, apologizing and then came out when he said he would, which was perfectly understandable. He was able to diagnose the lighting issue (I was relieved it wasn't something obvious, the previous owners had done bad electrical and wires had fused) and soon I had a working light. Next he figured out a neat way to get an outlet on a wall that was surrounded by cinderblocks, it involved chipping away at the block and trenching a line to it. He's very young and that concerned me initially, but very professional, knowledgeable and didn't mind coming out for a small job and charged a fair rate. Great work Sean!

The initial installation and first 3 years of the contract were great. After some negotiation back and forth (whatever alarm system you go with, be sure to get not just the 'master code' but the 'installer code', it's your right) everything was installed professionally neatly and on time. The renewal process however was not that easy. After some haggling back and forth (I like to negotiate) the billing prices were not updated from the previous contract and it tooks 7 months to get resolved and only after getting the president involved. However, once he and my original (great) salesrep became involved, the matter was resolved promptly. In the end, I do recommend SafeTech over many other alarm companies for their equipment, installation and service overall. However, at renewal time, I also recommend everyone take a real close at their credit card statements to ensure that what's agreed upon is executed.

Andrew is very attentive, helpful and responsive. It was nice to email him a list of questions, he met with us and gave us a detailed quote, and then we started coming home from work to find big bags of trimmed tree limbs, shrubs, weeds, overgrown plants and the like all neatly stacked up by the curb for pickup. He has also been helpful with advice and provided good pest control services. He's also a really nice, personable and knowledgeable guy that is really responsive to calls or emails; and very affordable compared to some of the landscape companies that are also highly rated on here. Update May 2012: Great landscaping work continues. Had front yard redone with riverrock, backyard shed removal, and more work -- all done professionally and on time. Highly recommended.

Last June we moved from our 1 bedroom 3rd Floor loft -- a walkup -- to a 3 bedroom house. Tom Trucker showed up 15 minutes early in the afternoon, and these three guys worked like demons without complaint and with great care for our belongings. They had mats, floor guards, took shoes off in our new house with the expensive wood floors, the works. They were personable and friendly, and I swear one of them could lift a car by looking at it. Highly recommended. To people moving: Please, be ready for your movers. Get everything packed up ahead of time, disassemble the bed, etc and if something is breakable, let the guys know ahead of time.

Hired Matthew based on reviews from homestars.ca, with no prior contact or info on him. I liked that the reviews were about him, and not the company -- with some companies it's all about the person you get that day, not the company. Matthew came around and explained that the noises / plumbing I thought was wrong was just fine, and I didn't need any improvements, at least for 5 years or so when the toilet will need upgrading. Then he fixed up the abs plumbing I had put in for our laundry machine quickly and ran it much nicer than I could. He also gave me ideas on how to put in a shower in our guest bathroom (our house only has one now). Also in terms of cost, he was very, very reasonable. Sometimes a small job ends up costing about ten cents less than a huge job, but that wasn't the case here. He's personable, friendly and I encourage everyone thinking of hiring a plumber to give Matthew a call.
