Discovered Vanguard Caulking on a Homestars search and could not be happier with the outcome. Rimas was a great communicator, and although the cost for caulking work was pricier than I had anticipated, Rimas accommodated on keeping the costs reasonable, while staying competitive. The quality of the materials and work was well worth it, all of which includes a 10 year warranty. The guys that did the job, Oleg and Russell (apology for any misspelling), arrived on the day bright and early, worked a full day to remove the old, and recaulk with new caulking and where needed, backer rod, all with a professional finish (see pictures). All the while, explaining the work and offering suggestions , including vent replacements. At the end of job, they did a walk through to ensure I was satisfied. Thank you Rimas and team - I will recommend you guys for any future caulking jobs needed for myself or my friends/family.

One of the drawbacks of Patterned Concrete is it has to be regularly maintained or it will diminish over time. We have a lot of patterned concrete, spanning the driveway, porch and steps, side walkway and back patio. Unfortunately not all surfaces had been regularly maintained by the previous homeowner. We called several contractors and few wanted to even perform the job to provide resealing to the Patterned Concrete surfaces. GTA Sealing came to the rescue. After I requested a quote through HomeStars, the owner, Art, gave me a call. I explained the surface areas and conditions, and rather than just ballpark on the phone, Art went out of his way to make a trip to my residence and and assess the condition of the patterned concrete areas to ensure it was a job he could help with. He level set expectations, provided his professional recommendations and did all the measurements, so he could provide an accurate (and very reasonable) quote. Art is a great communicator, and was sure to keep me updated on the schedule to do the job, and working around an unpredictable weather forecast to ensure we could get the job completed without delays. He had his crew pressure wash the driveway on Day 1, and a couple days later (to work around some unpredictable weather), Art came and personally did the sealing himself, ensuring the job was done right. Art has even offered to come back for touch ups if needed. Thanks Art and GTA Sealing for renewing our Patterned Concrete finish, considering the difficult surface condition, you have given our driveway, porch, walkway and backyard patio, a new life! After repairing my AC a year and a half earlier I was faced this time with a Furnace that would not blow any hot air after the ice storm and numerous power fluctuations in the city. I called Nima at 8am on the day before Christmas eve and by 830am he had called me back and came to the house by 11am - amazing considering there were people without electricity scattered through the city and it was holiday season. Nima assessed the issue and found both the ignitor and gas valve were both damaged (likely from numerous power fluctuations the day and night before) and needed replacement. He had to go back to Richmond hill for one of the parts but came back by 4PM and had the unit repaired and blowing hot air by 5PM! This was critical as we were hosting a dinner the next day and temperatures were expected to drop to below -10 deg C!. Although it was pricier than what I had hoped for, Nima was able to lower costs where he could for us and got the job done! Thanks Nima!

I called Nima at Mr Heat Mechanical to set up a service appointment on one of the hottest days of the week when my AC unit stopped pumping cold air. He set up a service call for the next day (but was willing to come the evening of my call!). After he and his colleague arrived, I described the problem and he ran some tests, he isolated the issue to a bad part and within 15 minutes had the unit back in working order and monitored to make sure it was cooling again. He also did a quick check of the furnace and humidifier to make sure they were set up for the summer correctly. Nima was honest, knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely be calling on their services in the future and be recommending them to others. Thanks guys!
