Saverio at Cornerstone is another one of those rare contractors that not only gets the job done well, but handles the business side of his work delightfully. We own a downtown Toronto semi-detached home that was built almost 100 years ago, and the basement was always damp, had sloping uneven floors, low ceiling height, and old clay drain pipes. We wanted to make the basement dry, flat, clean, and to gain as much ceiling height as well could, while replacing all of our old drains and preparing for a finished basement. Saverio at Cornerstone delivered all of it in spades! He arrived on-time for the initial quoting of the service, and knew exactly what needed to be done. He provided a written estimate for his work, and gave us all the details about what each line-item meant, and why we should consider doing it. He didn't try to "sell" us at all, just delivered the facts, and gave me the sense he had our best interests in mind. We gave him a 1 week deadline to get everything done while we were on vacation, and when we arrived home everything was done to perfection. He kept in-contact throughout the week explaining what had been done and what still needed to be completed. We also gained the new uniform (higher) ceiling height that he said we would, and we were really happy with that as well. He even pulled out the half-assed job that a previous company we used to waterproof (also found her on Homestars) under out stairs, and replaced it with the full system he prescribed for the rest of our basement at no extra cost. Overall, don't hesitate to use Saverio... you will not regret it.

Robert answered the phone late on a Friday night, and setup my appointment for the following Monday. He was very eager to help, and arrived to pickup our samples for asbestos testing and had everything wrapped up within 48 hours. He was very knowledgeable, and offered some great advice for dealing with our renovation. I would recommend Robert and Templar to anyone who needs a very quick turnaround on asbestos testing, and an honest approach to customer service. We were extremely fortunate that our asbestos test came back negative, and I can't begin to tell you how great it was to have someone like Robert assure us that our floor was asbestos-free and that we were ready to start our basement renovation safely. I have to hand it to Joe, for doing such an amazing job with our complete kitchen overhaul. He and his crew delivered a beautiful kitchen on-time and on-budget. Joe and I worked together to come up with a punch list of the work they would do, and a fixed price for doing the work. After that, there was no hassle about the budget along the way, and he made payment very easy along the way as I was comfortable. Golden Hammer did all of the demolition, hauling, electrical, drywall, plumbing, painting, installed a window, and retrofitted a barn-style sliding door where a normal door used to be. The work was fairly clean (this was a messy job), but they did their best to control the dust. Overall, if you need a serious modern kitchen renovation, I would trust these guys to do the job. They normally build big beautiful modern homes in the GTA, so if you can get them to do a reno at your place you will not be disappointed. I'll hire them again when it comes time to do our basement and bathroom. - Casey

We called 4 different companies based on homestars recommendations, and All County was the first to respond. They did a perfect job on the new eaves and they were very efficient and clean. The quote they gave was actually $100-200 higher than everyone else, but the responsiveness and thoroughness the showed made it worth the extra few bucks. We originally got put on a waiting list, but they had a cancellation so they actually did our work the next day! Another great homestars experience.

These guys work fast, and efficiently. No surprises, just in and out with a pleasant experience. They even swept up afterwards, and helped me pull out an old counter top that was in the way of them doing their job. Would have them back in a heartbeat.

Came the next day, was on-time, and very personable. Very affordable, and someone who was genuinely interested in getting all of my junk hauled away. An honest guy doing an honest days work! I think Des will be in business for a very long time.
