We called Sutton &Son for the warranty repair for our Fridgidaire and were very pleased with the service. The technician arrived on time, saw what the problem was and returned later with the necessary part. The technician actually arrived early and called us to let us know he had arrived ( that’s unusual for service guys) and while there noticed that the fridge door did t close properly and the handle was loose. He fixed both of those things for us. Little things but much appreciated.

We had the front steps repaired 2 years ago but they really needed re-working. The grouting was degenerating and the steps had loosened to the point it was a safety issue. Greg responded to our request for quotes and was very responsive to the questions we had. He was able to start almost immediately and completed the job quickly and efficiently. We are very happy with the work and he left the area clean and tidy. Greg is professional and personable so I have no problem recommending him.

My mother was selling her house in Oakville but found some leaks in the basement coming from gaps in the brickwork and the joint between the brick and the front porch. The house was going up for sale so it was important to get this done quickly and professionally. I requested a quote from 4 companies via Homestars. Dominic was extremely fast in responding and made the effort to come out very quickly and personally inspect the situation. On first meeting he was professional, knowledgeable and personable. He gave us a very reasonable quote and then came out a couple of days later to do the work. Everything was done effectively and efficiently and on a very timely basis. Dominic also took the time to custom match the grouting to the original. He then came around a couple of days later, on his own initiative, to inspect his work and see if any touch-ups were required. What surprised me was that when it came time to pay he reduced his fee because it hadn't taken as much time to do the work as he had thought. You don't get that level of honesty very often in the construction trade. I was impressed with the work so I asked Dominic to do some work on my house in Burlington. There were problems with the flagstones on the front porch (loose stones and deteriorating grouting and some cracks in the brick grouting). Dominic came around 2 days later and started the work as requested a couple of days after that. The stone work is excellent and looks as good as the day it was initially installed. The fees were reasonable and Dominic's colleague (who did the work) was very experienced and professional. Dominic brought his colleague around, introduced him and then followed up to make sure everything was going to plan. I was very satisfied with the work at both houses and I would not hesitate to recommend Dominic to anyone.

I found Aquaguard through a combination of Homestars and a referral from a friend. With good reviews and a reference they seemed like a good bet and I was not disappointed. Jon came out quickly to take a look at the situation, we had several leaks in the basement behind the drywall with no idea how much work was necessary but fearing the worst. After a thorough inspection Jon gave us a clear idea of likely problems and clearly communicated costs. We made an appointment immediately and he was there on time and ready I work. He was professional, thorough and personable. The price was reasonable and the work well done. We thought we had another new leak several days later and John came out at short notice to take a look. It wasn't a foundation leak so there was nothing for him to do but I appreciated the prompt response. I would recommend Aquaguard to anyone with a basement leak.

I have used Hometurf for a number of years now and I am very happy with the service. They call before coming and do what they say. The helpful hints they leave in the mailbox are a bonus. On the occasions I have met the people doing the work they are professional and courteous. I would recommend the lawn service to anyone.

We engaged Marcon to do an 8x12 extension onto our kitchen. They weren't the cheapest but they appeared to be the most realistic in terms of timing. Mark came out to do the scoping and estimating and I was impressed by his experience and attention to detail. We are very pleased with the end result. The level of communication was good and most things were well explained. As a homeowner you can't think of all the things to ask and there are one or two things I would have done differently but Mark accommodated our changes efficiently. He was easy to deal with and clearly motivated to do a first class job. The work was completed on budget and the discussions on add-ons was fair. I would recommend Marcon to anyone looking extensions to their homes.

We obtained quotes for replacing windows in our bungalow and the range was amazing - up to $24,000 in once case (which was laughable as it was about 4 times what we ultimately paid). We got a very reasonable price from Home Windows - the owner Michael came to do the estimating and helped to understand what was involved as well as providing some options for us to consider. They did the work on time and within the estimate. His team was courteous and professional and Mike came out to inspect the work while it was in progress. The cleanup after the work was well done. I believe we got very good value for the money.

We had a very bad experience with another appliance repair company and paid out over $300 without getting any repair completed. I called Appliances Repair Service on the phone (rather than going through the website) and discussed the situation (ice machine not working and freezer not freezing). They came around that day, waived the inspection charge and gave me a very reasonable quote for the repair. The job was more complex than anyone expected and more parts were legitimately required (even I could see that) so the technician returned the next day. I got a very reasonable price on the additional parts (I checked on the internet to see retail price) and we agreed in advance on an additional payment. The work was completed to my full satisfaction and I am very happy with the overall cost. The guys that came out were knowledgeable, friendly and very reasonable when it came to discussing costs. It was a completely different experience from the other company (where I had felt ripped off). I would recommend this company and will use them again if the need arises.

I have a GE Monogram built in fridge about 10 years old, the freezer wasn't cold enough and the icemaker wasn't working. I called the Appliance Repair Guys (I wish I knew about Homestars earlier) and they quoted me $80 for the service call. The technician came out a few days later and then charged us an additional $200 for the labour involved in a "diagnostics" that took about 20 minutes. We had to sign a "labour quote approval" or the guy wasn't going to do anything and this is non-refundable. He said we needed a new condenser fan but had to get the part to come back (separate charge). I called their customer service line (twice) to complain about what I considered to be sharp business practices. The technician called back to say that they couldn't find the part required because the fridge was too old and there were no spare parts available any more. I found the part on line for delivery the next day. I called the manager to complain again and was told that the technician had written down the wrong model number but in a later call they went back to saying that there were no parts available. My last call to them was not returned. End result - I am out $316 and the repair was not done. I would never ever use this company and would advise anyone else to stay away from them. I got another service provider, explained the problem on the phone, got a technician that day and the cost of the full repair (parts and labour) was $300, no other service or diagnostic charges.
