Bought a home and met with Marisa - an excellent sales person. We owned the home in record time. Whirlwind fast. 2 years later and ZERO of the deficiencies have been taken care of. ServiceQ - their new warranty providers dropped the ball on our home and admitted It fell through the cracks because somebody in charge left the company - which attests to the follow up! Update Feb 2, 2022 ServiceQ has responded and scheduled a meeting so I am hopeful this stuff gets fixed quickly. I have edited my original review and rating as they have replied with a date for repairs.

Hi Darlene, we are very saddened to learn you are unhappy with the service you have received after possession.
Your experience is surprising as we have received great feedback from many of our clients since we enrolled Service Q for warranty. Regardless, it is your experience that matters, and from the sounds of it, your experience has not been good.
On behalf of Pacesetter Homes Darlene, I do apologize for letting you down.

In order to assist you, I do require some additional information from you. Please feel free to email me at info@yourpacesetter.com. This is a general email address but will come to my attention. I will work with you to put you in touch with the necessary individuals that can help resolve any items that are warrantable.

Warmest regards,
Customer Experience Manager

These guys did a great job in our yard. We had aeration, overseeding, fertilizing and top dressing all done in a timely manner. They stuck to their quote and worked until it was dark. They came back the next day to finish up and tidy. I’m very pleased they didn’t leave me to clean the road up. They left everything as it was when they arrived. Update - June 2021: The grass the following spring didn’t look so good - lots of dry barren spots and in places, with extremely dry dusty dirt showing. I watered a bunch in the fall as directed. Perhaps winter played a part in this. The compost & earth blend they applied in the fall appears to have done nothing to thicken the lawn. It also seems abnormally hard, packed and dry. (Nothing like I use in the garden) While Ben did come out to have a look, there’s been promises to investigate further and to rake the lawn but neither happened. I ended up doing the raking myself. (with herniated discs this wasn't a joy to do). I guess I’m not real happy spending $750 with no visible positive change whatsoever in the lawn. I’ve now reseeded the bare spots and fingers crossed - it’s filling in but I still have a pretty lumpy uneven lawn, and no clue how to fix it properly apparently. I just thought after aeration, top dressing and over seeding by a lawn company in the fall, that come spring I would have seen the wonderful results of their efforts. The guys did work hard last fall and I know they tried. Update 2022 - The abnormally hot weather last summer was likely what caused the sick looking lawn as the grass went dormant for a month after my last update. The application deserved a 10 rating, the follow-up could have been a bit better, thus I have lowered my rating slightly.

We were very pleased with the level of detail Marvin had to the painting in our new home. He repaired any small nicks and bumps and they literally vanished with his expert touch. We were also amazed at the crisp lines where we had different colors meet up and even rounded drywall corners did not pose an obstacle. Marvin also did an epoxy finish in our garage and mechanical room and it was so lovely that some of our neighbors came over to look, and asked Marvin to do theirs also! That speaks volumes! I highly recommend this company and will be using them every few years to come in and freshen up the paint, or if I feel like a colour change down the road.

We built a brand new home with 32 windows in it. With so many windows we knew it was important to have the right windows and the right blinds. We shopped around and received a referral to try this company for our window covering needs. Luis has great customer service. He was very thorough listening to our list of requirements and he effectively found styles and colours that were a perfect fit for our home and our decor. His product knowledge is also outstanding. We were very pleased with our purchase and his great customer service.

I live in Edmonton, Alberta and I can easily say there is a plethora of builders to choose from when contemplating building a new home. I started my search right here on HomeStars reading the reviews of others. I then migrated to google, facebook and other sites - doing my due diligence in my search for a builder that met my tough list of requirements. Long story short, I chose Royer and it was truly one of the best decisions of my life. Royer brings the very best to the table and I could write a novel about why they stand a cut above. Royer was not my first home builder, but they will absolutely be my last. I recommend them for so many reasons and here is a short list of them: They are not the cheapest builder, but they are not outrageous either. Their pricing is more than justified by the outstanding quality and workmanship that go into their homes. Our house went up in a newer neighborhood and I can't even count how many neighbors came to tell us what they witnessed. Word of mouth spread about the extra stuff they saw this company doing. The neighbours talked about the care and thought put into the project. My one neighbour said to me as he shook his head at the cracks on his driveway - "I wish my builder had thought to do that..." referring to something as simple as watering what would become my garage pad and driveway for an entire day. Even something like the Rebar used was not missed by the many eyes of the community. Ours was much larger than what other builders were typically using. This is another perk of using a small builder. What costs them perhaps only a few hundred dollars to upgrade the bones of the house is a standard for Royer, but when you get a mass builder - the bill of those few hundred dollars gets pretty big pretty fast and I have seen what cut corners cost in the long run. Royer homes have amazing trades people too. You won't see a cycle of new faces running around your precious home either. They use the same trades for years and years. It's like an extended family of people who can all work harmoniously, who all know the high expectations, who all know they are accountable, and who all take pride in what they do. I cannot begin to describe the joy I felt walking into the home and seeing one guy lovingly smoothing and eyeballing his railings, then grinning down at me from the top of the stairs with a huge smile - saying proudly: "Isn't it BEAUTIFUL!" ...Or when Dan came out and literally glowed with pride as he reviewed room by room with us. ...Or when Ken or Craig or Alan promptly took care of our questions, concerns and minor deficiencies. ...or when the painter finished his touch ups so perfectly that they I'd never had known they were there. With Royer - they get back to you, they walk the talk and they genuinely love what they do. Denis built his company on solid principles and great business ethics and Dan continues to raise the bar. The most obvious thing I noticed was that Dan doesn't have to drag his team to perform. They do so out of their own pride and sense of accomplishment. They go to work to do a great job, not just get paid. It's in everything we witnessed and even those we didn't but the neighbors did. Royer is composed of the best Brand Ambassadors. Every person contributing to the beautiful work they do. Our home is our oasis and it is truly a joy to come home to. On a final note - It was my fathers dream to see this house built. He had terminal cancer and he fought so hard to see it through. Sadly he was not there for the end, but seeing this home develop gave him so much joy! Erin was amazing. She rallied to get me progress pictures for my dad and every "OMG...oh jeeze that's beautiful!"...that passed from his mouth, was something I will never forget. She is organized and so very personable. This is a team that listens to you, and truly wants to build the home of your dreams. Dan said it so eloquently - when he said - it's MY NAME on that house. Another outstanding thing that did not escape attention was the business ethics even on an internal and environmental scale. While other houses went up in the vicinity, Royer was the only one to provide a port-a-potty for the workers. While I strolled along the growing neighborhood, noticing blown debris along the streets - I was pleased that Royer kept our property clean and tight. No trash strewn about in or around the work-site. I love that Royer was considerate not just to their clients, but also to their trades and even nature. It was a pleasure building with Royer. Never did I regret that decision and if you are in the market to build an oasis of your own - choose Royer, and neither will you.

Wow Darlene... Thank you so much for this review! It was a pleasure building for you. Your home is definitely one for Pinterest with all the great features throughout. You did a fantastic job choosing all the finishes and it really came together great. You had some really great ideas and there are many things in your home that we had never done before, so it really was a home for our photo book! Wishing you many great years in your brand new home!

Anyone in a service or retail industry has probably heard the saying if you provide great customer service to a customer, that customer will likely tell a couple people, but if you give them poor service they will tell at least 10 if not more. Well I am always pleased to be able to give a good review and share it with more then 10 lol. There's a little rebel in me when statistics are laid down. I have a home that was in serious need of parging repairs. I contacted several companies and in the end determined that J and J Coatings could do what I needed. When I contacted them about coming out to see what they could do about the crumbling parging and cracks on the exterior wall - they came out to give me an estimate. I was impressed at how thoroughly they checked the cracks and my foundation and previously parged areas. They even checked under places I would never have thought to look, but they knew I wanted my home not just pretty but bug resistant also. They provided me with an estimate that same night and then asked what notice I needed once I gave them the approval to go ahead. They made the call the day before arriving as I requested and then we discussed time and even parking. The guys were even considerate enough to decline parking in my driveway despite my offer, since their vehicle was heavier than I would have guessed. The fact they considered my driveways well being impressed me quite frankly. The work they did was exactly as they quoted and they finished the same day. It was a delight to come home and see my home lost a few proverbial older home wrinkles and looked so much nicer. I never thought parging could really be asthetically pleasing, but WOW was I impressed. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing to have parging work done.

I've been in the business of customer service, sales, branding and team building for over 25 years. One thing I emphasize is: yes there is a lot of change in the world with the rise of ecommerce and decline of the personal factor when it comes to sales and service. Knowing this, it was a sincere pleasure to meet with a company such as Green Thumb Landscaping, and a delight to see the end result of their hard work. This company embodies all the things I hold as valuable. They are about integrity not tactics. They worked together like a well oiled machine while my Dog (whom they came to call the "Foreman" ) supervised from the front window. They were not just there to do a job. They were there to do it the best that they could. You could see each employee working with great detail and it was obvious that they were not just there to earn their money with a let's just get it done mentality. They took pride in their work and were anxious to see the project blossom. It started with the Owner scoping out the project and then plenty of communication with us to determine what we wanted to make our yard the place we hoped it would be. There were no surprise OMG bills and she worked extremely hard to stay within our budget while providing the best options and best quality in everything we asked for. We wanted a company that did not see us as a project but rather a family looking for a yard that made us stop and sigh. They were so fast and so organized, that we rushed home each day to see incredible progress. We have already let them know we have a massive backyard project coming their way down the road. When a company brings their best to the table it really shows.
