Needed a new garage door. Got a competitive quote from Reg. He seemed like a nice guy. He did the job. Showed up when he said he would and got it done. He is a kind and patient man. I ask a lot of questions as I am curious and like understanding how things are done and why. He answered me with patience and kindness. I would recommend him. Only regret is maybe we should have chosen a new door with windows like our old one.

We have had Barracuda do two paint jobs for us, this is a review for the second one. This time we were painting our large living room, kitchen, and a couple hallways, including the trim. We got about 5 quotes, and David's was very competitive. Some of them were estimators from larger companies and came with larger quotes. I also found it a bit weird not getting to meet any of the person(s) doing the job at the quote. Some other quotes tried to upsell with pamphlets with things I did not care about. In the end, there was another quote that was slightly more competitive. I asked David if he was willing to match it and he said yes. Because we knew David's quality was great from a previous job it made going with him a no-brainer. David was friendly and professional like the last job, and did a good job with covering furniture and cleaning. We are really happy with how everything looked. At the very end, I paid in cash and accidentally overpaid by about $100. David pointed this out, which I thought was extremely honest of him (I ended up giving him a small tip for that). David is a very likable person.

Replaced a tile bathtub with an acrylic bathtub. The workers were a bit younger and made a couple minor mistakes, but corrected the issues when asked. Very happy with end product.

Friendly staff. Worked fast and carpet smelled nice afterwards. Cleaned it because we bought a new home but the previous owners had pets and a relative is allergic. Happy with the results. Job was 10 steps, 4 rooms and a hall.

Barracuda was the most competitive. Talking to David, he seemed friendly and knowledgable. Just an all-around nice guy. He did not try to upsell or recommend unnecessary things we did not need. I was impressed with how fast David got the job done and the quality of work he did. He did a good job of covering furniture and cleaning up afterwards. When they finished painting, my wife noticed a section were the original paint was showing through a tiny bit (the previous color was a dark ugly blue). They did another coat at no charge, and we are very happy with our bedroom. Great painter, we used him for another job the next year.

We are very happy we chose AHI. We selected them because they had good reviews on homestar. Their reviews were so good, I was skeptical whether or not they were legit. After doing the inspection, I am confident they are all legit. We used the inspector for a 1990s 5-bedroom home in the Arbour Lake community and found them competitive in pricing in comparison to the other inspectors we received quotes from. The inspector was very thorough and patient, but also able to spot issues quickly. The inspector was an excellent communicator and the report was detailed and covered everything the inspector mentioned. The report also had good tips how to repair minor issues. The report had photos and great clear example graphic diagrams. One of the things we appreciated was how the inspector distinguished between minor and major issues. An example of that is the deck railing was made of 2x4s instead of the 2x6s, however 90% of Calgary homes use 2x4s for our home age - this was a minor issue. The inspector found one major flaw with our house, which was that their was significant moisture behind the tiling in our upstairs bathroom due to poor grout put inbetween the tiles. This allowed us to get the sellers to lower the price by a significant amount so we could redo the tiling upon move in. The inspector had great tools, such as a thermal camera and moisture meter. The inspector's attitude was friendly and cordial. The inspector willingly crawled into the attic crawl space even though it was an awkward entry. I would recommend others attend the inspection and ask the inspector any questions you might have. I would also encourage others ask the sellers to prep their house for inspection as it helped us avoid a few headaches. I would recommend AHI to anyone looking for an inspector!
