Rent-A-Son has been our 'go-to' guys for any heavy lifting; no job is too small or insignificant. This time, we needed to move a lot of our furniture and artwork to the basement in preparation for a home staging. Jordan and Shane were fabulous: we were nervous about nicks or dents to the walls, and these guys were perfect. They even helped us stage the office - we followed their advice, and quite frankly, it looks better than the original layout we had in mind. Rent-A-Son is going to be quite prominent in our lives for the next few months, cumulating in our move to another city later this year. I can't imagine doing it without them.

We experienced a recent attempt at a break-in; thankfully the work Gotcha Wildlife did for us last year held out. In revenge, our persistent raccoon left his mark: bent siding, insulation bits on the roof. At the time of our call to Gotcha this time, we weren't sure if he'd gotten in or not; they returned our call within an hour and were at the house shortly after. They resealed the opening, restuffed our insulation, gave us great advice - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for any wildlife situation, and Gotcha will always be the first people I'll call. These guys know their stuff!

We had a shower leak into the kitchen below; turns out that an internal component in the shower plumbing had seized. Unfortunately, the builder of our home didn't provide access to the plumbing, so our Handyman rep - Khalid Alekozai - not only identified the problem but also created an access panel for us and replaced the shower/tub hardware - looks great, works great. Khalid came when he said he would, the work was done within estimate, and you can tell he takes pride in excellent work. Many thanks!

Our interlocking driveway was over 20 years old and hadn't sealed for several years - sand had been replaced by moss and weeds in and the bricks had shifted due to the weight of our cars. Danny and his brother were as good as their word: they re-leveled the bricks, powerwashed and resealed the driveway and the result looks better than the day it was installed. We've no hesitation in recommending them: quality work, attention to detail, job started and completed in 2 days. Also, there was no extra charge for some last minute work to address an issue with tree roots. We are very pleased with the result and their workmanship.

Heard nasty sounds last night, turns out it was a determined raccoon trying to burrow in by peeling back our aluminum siding. Woke up in the morning to find insulation scattered across the roof. Insert heavy sighs: it's springtime in Markham. Called Ken, he was upfront with costs and potential issues; he was in the area and came by within a couple of hours. Disaster averted: raccoon never made it in, and Ken stuffed back the insulation and fixed the gap to thwart the little bugger should he try it again. Can't say enough good things about Ken, and we'll be sure to call him again.

10 out of 10 stars, and if I could go higher, I would. We have just completed the installation of 33 windows and the replacement of our front door, and we couldn't be more satisfied. We met with Rose Iavarone, our Sales Rep in late summer and she was fantastic in helping us chose the style and colours and she answered all our follow up questions promptly. Everything she promised was true: that they would reproduce our decorative window sills, that the windows would appear larger as there was less wood framing, and the handles/locks were a vast improvement over our old hardware. Evgeni Laptev, our lead installer, ensured the window installation went exactly as planned over the span of some 4 days. The windows - Strassburger - are fabulous and a big improvement over the 25 year old, wood framed windows they replaced. Ted Fleming installed our front door and did a fabulous job - it looks fantastic. He's conscientious, hardworking, and obviously takes pride in his work. We especially appreciated the 'intros' Fieldstone provided prior to installation; we knew in advance who we were dealing with, what time they were coming and what prepatory was necessary. I also have to express appreciation for the post installation clean up: in both installations (windows and door) the crew ensured they left us with little of any mess. Overall, what could have been a very stressful event was seamless and without complication - just before Christmas too! Many thanks to Rose, Evgeni and Ted!

I found The Appliance Guy via HomeStars so felt confident contacting him and indeed he justified his high rating. He called back promptly and rather than sound like a disinterested service guy, I felt the exact opposite...like he was a member of my repair team...on my side to figure out the repair steps needed to get the oven back to full function. He arrived on time, explained each of his steps and completed the work quickly, professionally and at a reasonable cost. He is a keeper...

I was referred to Brad by another professional in the field which initially assured me I would be in good hands. Now having met Brad and with the work completed, I can now confirm I now know what is the "gold standard" in this business. Brad was totally professional and never hesitated to answer my questions (numerous times). Received a wide range of work from replacing flaking bricks, waterproofing, parging around house and a new front porch. All stages of my contact with A&A Masonry from Bill providing explanations and estimates; Dwight who did the brick replacement, parging and waterproofing, and Jose who built the new porch were friendly and professional. I received exemplary service, felt at ease with everyone involved and confident I was making a solid investment with these repairs and improvements. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again....and again.

Scott from Light Emitting Design installed our exterior lighting system back in July 2013 based on the reviews of this site. We were interested in lighting from an aesthetic point of view as well as added security for our darker areas. Other than that, we were novices, and put ourselves in Scott's hands. He recommended lighting that not only cast a warm glow over our architectural features and provided security lighting for our front/side doors. So why am I writing a review for service that's 12 months old? Because this week we called Scott as we had a minor issue with one of the lights, and he came within the week. Not only did he fix our light, (under warranty) but he also noted that the battery in our timer was low and replaced the whole unit for a smaller and more efficient one: no charge. In addition, we mentioned we may be replacing our eavestroughs in the near future, and Scott said we only had to give him a call if there were adjustments to be made. We are so very very happy with Scott and his advice, and Light Emitting Design's superb lighting for our house. I was remiss in not writing a review back in 2013, but with this review I can happily report that his follow up work is as excellent as his installations. Many thanks.

Over the duration of several jobs including fence replacement and deck refinishing, I found Hickory Dickory Decks to be refreshingly candid, thorough and professional. Most notably, my dealings with Ibrahim reconfirmed my faith that an expensive project can be done with a high level of quality combined with a superior level of customer service. Job well done by a professional group. I would highly recommend them to others.

Most notably, my dealings with Pietro & Chris on site combined with my conversations with Joe and Korolina from the office re-established my faith that an expensive project can be done that results in both a high work quality combined with a superior level of customer service. Job well done by a professional group.

The powder room taps hadn't been replaced in 20 years and were encrusted with hard water deposits - making removal a challenge! More so as we wanted to keep the existing sink. But the plumbers at handyman connection view these problems (don't let me tell you about the replacement of our kitchen taps!) as challenges-to-be-overcome and the resulting installation looks great!

Just this last month or so, our roof was inspected by some cold and curious raccoons who were looking for a place to settle out the winter. Thanks to a relatively new roof (2006) the damage done was minimal, but they still left their mark. Mr Roof Repair was fabulous - they responded to my web query and my phone call promptly, they came when they said they would, and they took convenient before and after pics for those of us who wouldn't be caught dead on the roof in winter. Excellent company, but I hope I don't need their services again soon! Damn raccoons.
