We had a leaky basement due to water coming through an old wooden retaining wall that was not waterproof. Alex and his team were hired to build a new concrete retaining wall with waterproofing membrane and weeping tile, as well as new concrete steps going down to a basement door. Alexs team were the hardest workers we have ever hired. They worked tirelessly and meticulously to complete the job. The new retaining wall and steps look amazing. We would definitely hire them again in the future.

This job was done back in the summer of 2020 so this review comes a bit late, but better late than never I guess. Marco and his team did an absolutely phenomenal job on some exterior stucco I needed done on the front of my home around a 2nd story window, as well as under the top roof line. I'm super picky, and Marco was patient with me in deciding on the exact colour I wanted. The amount of detail in his work truly amazing. In fact most other Stucco contractors told me that only flat stucco could be done with no detailed mouldings. I could not be happier with the job he did. I still to this day, 3 years later, stand in front of my house and admire the work his team did.

Wow! Thanks for the great review! I can confirm late is definitely better than never. Thank you for thinking about us 3 years later and taking the time to put this review together for us. Happy to hear you're still very pleased with the work.

Benjamin and his team do unbelievable work. We hired them after a basement flood left us in need of some drywall work. Benjamin was competitively priced and gave us a very detailed quote of the work that would be done. They worked very cleanly and left hardly any dust each day. He repaired a bulkhead with such laser precision, that being a machinist by trade, I couldn't even believe how straight and perfect it was. They painted the walls and it looked beautiful. They even went over and above to give the ceiling in one area a quick coat of white paint because it looked really bad and they are such perfectionists. The picture below is just one area of drywall, but the whole basement looks unreal!

Gurp was a nice guy when I met him, but his carpet contractors were very very sloppy. We had new carpet and vinyl flooring installed in the basement after a flood. Toronto Flooring Solutions were very competitive with their pricing so we decided to go with them. After the carpet was installed I noticed a small "pull" at the side of one of the steps and also a "pull" at one of the seems where the carpet was joined together. This was worrysome because if you lightly tugged on the loose piece it would just keep running. I contacted Gurp and he sent out his installers the following week. They made out that it was our fault and said you can't vacuum right away (Which we never even did). Then all they did to fix the pulls was cut them. I thought they would at least glue the carpet back down since the pull was on the seam, and will just get another run in it again at some point. I've never heard of a carpet that you can't vacuum or it will run. As far as the vinyl flooring went, the trim pieces that join the carpet and the vinyl in two locations just popped right off. I contacted Gurp again and he said he would personally come an fix it, but he never showed, and I never heard from him again after that. If you care about the quality of workmanship, I would choose another company. Carpet is carpet, and vinyl is vinyl no matter who you buy if from, but how it's installed is what makes all the difference.

We hired Jason to secure new electrical boxes and and redo wiring in the basement after a flood. The work he preformed was fine, but trying to get a hold of him was next to impossible. He told us he had taken out a permit with ESA, and they were going to come and inspect the day after the work was done. They never showed so then he said the were coming the Wednesday the week after. When nobody showed up again I texted, and left a voicemail with him but no response. A few day later I heard from him and he told me the inspector would definitely be coming this time on the Friday. I took it in my own hands to call ESA and verify that an inspector was actually coming this time and they told me that a permit hadn't even been taken out yet. I texted Jason to tell him this and he immediately took out a permit online at that time. Decent work , but I wouldn't hire him again, and good luck getting a hold of him if you have any issues.

We hired Austin, from Good Bones Carpentry, to do a renovation that involved installing new baseboards and door casings throughout entire basement, as well as lowering all existing doors, closet doors, and door jams, as we had a flood and had removed the existing sub floor. Austin was very kind and friendly and you could tell he was genuinely wanting to help us out with our needs. He understood we were on a tight budget and was able to give us a quote with a few different options to go with depending on how much we wanted to spend, which was really nice and we really appreciated that. We chose to re-use all the existing room doors, closet doors, and door jams rather than buy new ones. He worked tirelessly and always cleaned up at the end of each day. He even went out of his way to fix an exterior door that was sticking so we didn't have to buy a new one. We were truly happy with all the work Austin did, and would definitely use Good Bones Carpentry again in the future. Thanks Austin
