We discovered a major infestation on a Friday night. I desperately searched for a 24 hour pest control company. I came across 247 Pest Control. Sajad answered the phone immediately and was at my house in 20 minutes. He assessed the situation and realized we needed this taken care of asap. He arranged treatment for Sunday, which I know must have been difficult on such short notice. He is a real pro and explained everything that he would be doing. Not only did he do a terrific job, but he is extremely kind and patient in explaining everything to my 82 year old mother and myself. I highly recommend Sajad!

Alex and Andrew arrived on schedule and were extremely nice and personable. They put down protector carpets to protect my floors as well as "booties" to cover their shoes. They did a very thorough job and answered any questions that I had. They were very professional and really knew their stuff. I've used AtlasCare for my furnace and AC servicing and have always been satisfied. This was the first time that I used them for duct cleaning and I highly recommend them. I had Dave from Asphalt care Inc. and his crew come in last year to do some catch basin work and it was great. This year because of the bad weather we had some more work to be done to the driveway. Dave and Daniel came out and did more asphalt work. Once again outstanding job on repairing of the driveway and blacktop sealer. Thank you once again! Unfortunately I have to update my review. I've been chasing Dave since last fall to address water pooling at the base of the driveway. Over a dozen messages were sent promising that he would come out and address the problem. In March I discovered that the crack he repaired last fall had returned, as well the asphalt at the base of the driveway was crumbling. A concrete hump in front of my garage door was supposed to be replaced last summer. Dave decided that it was ok and that too has crumbled apart. Dave did come out in March to look at the driveway and promised me that I would be first on his list once the weather had turned for good. He came out a second time to look at the driveway and assured me that he was doing a neighbors house and he would do the repairs while he was in the neighborhood. Many messages were sent back and forth with assurances that he would do the repairs. Well, last weekend I noticed that he was totally finished with the neighbors driveway and did not come to my house to fix the problems. Now he no longer returns messages and does not take my phone calls. Sorry, but Dave and Asphalt Care did not live up to the advertised guarantee. Sorry, Dave, but your statements are not accurate. Last summer I hired your company to seal the driveway, fix a crack that had developed and to address water pooling at the bottom of the driveway. I PAID for this service. You did the work in July. In August I contacted you that we still had a water pooling problem on the right side of the driveway. You promised to come and take a look. Then started a series of messages from August until March with you promising to come over. On March 26 your message to me is that you came by and saw where the water was pooling. You told me that you have some work on Regatta Cr. and when you are in the area you will come and repair it. On April 28 you told me that the job on Regatta was prepped and when you came to finish that one you were going to do mine. May 2 you said you were not able to finish Regatta and that and that as soon as you do your will be over. On May 16 I saw that the job on Regatta was completed and you did not come to my house to fix the problems. At that point you did not take my phone calls and have stopped returning messages. So, as of May 2 you were coming to do the repairs. And now you have decided not to do them.

I researched this company and based on the glowing reviews I decided to give them a try. The estimate was reasonable and I agreed to have them do the work. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing like the reviews that I read. 3 men arrived in the morning, but after an hour 2 of them left to do other jobs and did not return for 6 hours. They left the most inexperienced painter who's work had to be touched up when the painters returned. I ordered 3 colours, but the white was never ordered. Fortunately the painters had white on their truck. I was told that my quote did not include the doors and trim. Why wouldn't the quote include these items? Sometime during the process a book shelf was broken. Accidents do happen but there was just a shrug and no apology. I specifically asked that a closet organizer attached to the wall not be dismantled, as it was originally very difficult to install. So, they dismantled it anyway and could not put it back the way it was. I had to get help the next day to reinstall it properly. The left over paint was supposed to be left with me, but only 1 of the colours was left. The other was taken and the white was never ordered. The entire job ended up taking 12.5 hours, which was ridiculously long. The owner did give me a substantial discount which I used towards replacing the bookshelf, as well as buying more paint. The next day I received a questionnaire from the head office, wanting to know how my experience was and if I was "wowed". I honestly answered the questions, listed all of my concerns and then followed up with an email to customer service. Well, I never heard a word from the company. There were several things that they could have done to salvage the situation, but clearly they are only interested in positive reviews. At the very least they could have acknowledged my concerns and offered an apology. Instead, there is silence. I will be looking elsewhere for my future painting needs.

This is my second time using David and I am just as happy as I was the first time. After the horrible winter we had the driveway had developed a substantial crack. Also the bottom had sunk a bit and a lot of water was pooling at the bottom. David and his crew did a great job of repairing the cracks, solving the water pooling problem and then sealed the driveway. David knows his stuff and is easy to deal with.

I have an old dryer and wanted to have it cleaned and inspected for lint buildup that might cause a fire. I had previously used Aubrey for a washing machine leak and was very pleased. So I called Aubrey again to see if he could come over and clean and inspect the dryer. He arrived on time and got to work. He discovered that the dryer belt was about to go, so he replaced that as well as cleaned out and vacuumed the back of the dryer. He them inspected the duct work and discovered that the ducts to the outside had come apart, probably many, many years ago. There was now a dangerous build up of lint trapped in the cavity. Aubrey managed to replace and secure the ductwork and did recommend that I have somebody come over to clean out the duct and the cavity. His diligence in going the extra mile may have saved me from a potential fire as the lint build up was quite thick. Aubrey is very honest and competent and I highly recommend him for all of your appliance needs.

I have a very old unused BBQ in the backyard and it appears that wasps have been building hives in there for years. This year they seemed to be more aggressive and were bothering the person who cuts my lawn. So...I needed a company to remove the wasps and hives. I contacted Pesticon and was impressed that my call was answered immediately. Waheed said that he was able to come the same evening. Again, very impressive. He arrived and immediately assessed the situation. He said there was no problem removing the hives, which he did immediately. He also treated the BBQ so they would not return again. Overall I was very impressed by the speed and competence of Waheed. He is also extremely honest. I mistakenly wrote out a cheque for the wrong amount and he rang my doorbell to inform me and had me write out a new cheque. If you have a pest problem, this is the company to call!

We contacted Envirotech because we had a severe ice damming problem and I was afraid of permanent damage being done to the house. Our house is almost 50 years old and the original insulation had never been replaced or upgraded. Mark came out in the evening and I could see right away that he was very professional and really grasped what the problem was. On the day of the installation, the weather was a bit problematic and traffic was a mess. Mark called me shortly before he was to arrive to assure me that he was on the way and not to worry. Mark and his assistant were very competent and professional. They cleaned up when they were finished. The job took a little less time than I was quoted, which was a bonus. I highly, highly recommend Envirotech!

Due to my previous furnace/AC company no longer in business, I turned to Homestars to find a new company. I have used Homestars in the past and have always been satisfied. I contacted AtlasCare and was immediately impressed by the person who answered the phone. She was very professional and pleasant. I told her that I would prefer an evening or Sat. appt. and she said that was no problem. My furnace was working fine, so there was no rush, but I did want it inspected for the season. The technician arrived on time and when he entered the house immediately put covers over his boots. He spent a lot of time cleaning and inspecting the furnace and was very thorough. I was so impressed with the company that I immediately went on an annual plan and will call when I want the AC service done. Atlas Care is a very reliable and impressive company.

I had a catch basin that was partially crumbled, as well as a driveway that the asphalt was crumbling around the entrance to the catch basin. I was having difficulty finding a company to do these repairs. Most of the companies I spoke to only did complete driveway paving. Thanks to Homestars I discovered David from Asphalt Care. He came out on a Sunday evening to see what work needed to be done and to give me an estimate. He told me that catch basin repairs are his specialty and he knew exactly what the job required. He also told me that rather than use sub-contractors, as most companies do, he personally is involved with every job. I had a lot of confidence after meeting with David and we shook hands to seal the deal. Despite a couple of weeks of rainy weather, he completed the repairs and then sealed the driveway as well. The results are fabulous and many of my neighbors have admired the work and asked for his number. I highly, highly recommend Asphalt Care.

My Goodman A/C , which is only going into it's 2nd full season, suddenly stopped working in June. The company that installed the A/C and was servicing it, suddenly seemed to have disappeared. Messages were not returned. We have allergies and asthma in our house so it is crucial to have working A/C. I have used homestars.ca in the past to find reputable service and this is how I found Cozy World. They put me in touch with Fred for the repair. Fred took my cell number and promised to try to make it to my house the same evening or at the latest the next morning. He then called me later that afternoon to confirm that he would be able to meet me at my house around 6pm. When I was on my way home, he called again to let me know that he would be there in half an hour. Fred arrived and fairly quickly determined that the problem was no power to A/C. It turned out that some wires got disconnected in the yard, probably due to some animals. He patched up the wires and stayed to make sure that the unit was cooling properly. Fred was very professional and very thorough. I highly recommend Fred and Cozy World. And I highly recomment homestars.ca to find reputable companies to deal with.

The communication with me was very good, the price was fair and the work was done properly. I had a difficult time finding somebody to repair my carpet so I was very pleased to find Victorious through Homestars. This is the 3rd company that I have found through Homestars and they all have been terrific. I will definitely recommend Victorious to anybody needing carpet repairs.

Our old washing machine had developed a slow, trickle leak. Aubrey came out and took his time to diagnose where the leak was coming from. He then ordered the part and came back to install it. He was very nice and very knowleadgeable and really knows his stuff. I will definitely use him again and have recommended him.

I had severe ice damming on my roof and I was concerned about damage once the weather turned warmer. I contacted Mr. Roof Repair by email and within 10 minutes I received a return email. I then received a phone call shortly after. The crew were at my house within an hour and were superb, including shovelling the snow off of my driveway and stairs. The whole experience was very professional and speedy and I did not have to take time off of work since we completed the transaction by phone and email. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again in the future.
