We purchased a newly-built home in Ottawa and required installation of a new dishwasher as well as a Moen FLO water monitoring / shut-off device. I found Horizon's information through HomeStars and requested an appointment. Response was very quick and professional. We booked the appointment and then, due to issues around our move and appliance delivery, had to reschedule. Horizon responded very quickly and rebooked a new appointment within a few days of the original appointment, despite them being very busy. The plumber showed up exactly on time and set to work. He was friendly, professional and quick. The installation of both units was completed and cost less than the quoted estimate. Overall, communication and performance was excellent. I strongly recommend Horizon for your next plumbing job.

We had seen Jerry's "Stairs4U" trucks several times in our neighbourhood including at our next door neighbour a few years ago. We contacted Jerry initially just for the stair renewal but learned that he also does hardwood installation. Our project included two flights of stairs (from basement to main floor and main floor to send floor) along with hardwood in four bedrooms and the upstairs hall. Jerry provided us with expert advice and design suggestions to make sure we got the most out of the projects. Our plans were interrupted by the COVID lockdown but as soon as things started to open up again, Jerry contacted us and we agreed on a date. His crews were great and did both the stair renewal and hardwood installation in just over five business days. We are extremely pleased with the results and neighbours and friends are very impressed.

Ceiling Champions did a great job of removing the popcorn ceilings from our main level and upper hallway in our 80s-vintage home. They worked quickly and were focused on getting the job done right. They also recommended a company that did a great job of installing potlights at the same time as the popcorn ceiling removal - nice, efficient collaboration.

The Absolute team was a great help in investigating, assessing and resolving a minor leak that resulted in Dame to our kitchen ceiling. Highly recommended. They identified possible causes, troubleshot solutions, caulked the shower, and repaired the kitchen ceiling.

Squeak Knights is fantastic. They silenced a very squeaky section of the hardwood floor in our kitchen. We were afraid that we would have to tear up the floor to fix it. Then came Squeak Knights. The repair was fast, professional and invisible. We are super impressed!

Based on HomeStars reviews, I contacted Roofs on Homes for an estimate for a shingle replacement on our home. The previous job was poorly done and we were losing shingles whenever we had strong winds. Danny provided us with a very thorough estimate and explained various options and features for the installation. We were impressed with his candour and selected Roofs on Homes for the job. Unfortunately, we had to wait close to two months for the job due to weather delays, their volume of work (due to severe windstorms) as well as a postponement we incurred due to a family matter but it was worth the wait. Once the work was booked, the materials were delivered on time and the crew showed up and worked hard to get everything done promptly. At the end of the first day and upon completion of the job the next day, the crews cleaned up our property completely. The quality of their workmanship is evident in the clean straight lines of the shingles and attention to detail. Roofs on Homes is not the cheapest contractor but you definitely get what you pay for. After our experience with a poor roofing job done 15 years ago, we are very satisfied with the work done by Roofs on Homes along with their guarantee.

Our experience with Absolute was fantastic from beginning to end. When we set out to get an estimate for landscape planning and services several months ago, we contacted several companies. Absolute's owner, Liz, replied promptly (on a Sunday if I recall correctly) while other companies either didn't respond or took their time getting back to us. We booked an appointment with Ilse the landscape designer and she was great: she made herself available in the evening for a visit and listened attentively to our needs and wants. She got back to us with a plan and made changes based on our feedback. She was always responsive and respectful even when we needed to make some last minute changes. She kept us informed on the timing for delivery and start dates. When the work started, the two primary landscapers, Brian and Justin, really shone. They understood that we had some neighbour issues and they were consistently polite and unperturbed by the neighbour's sideshow. They kept a tidy work site and explained what was being done and when tasks were scheduled and then stuck to their schedule. On the final day of the project, they did a super job of cleaning up. I cannot say enough good things about them. Our yard and retaining wall look wonderful and it's reassuring to know that the work was done right, on plan and on budget. We highly recommend Absolute's landscaping services and would not hesitate to use them again.
