Zack and Seb did a great job of cleaning my windows (interior and exterior, including screens) and gutters. They worked quietly, thoroughly, and were respectful of my home. They had no problem climbing a 30 foot ladder to clean my 3rd floor solarium windows. I would highly recommend Shine Windows and Gutters.

My front door was an eyesore that I often struggled to open. I was also wanting a door that provided better energy conservation in extremes of temperature. A contractor suggested a wood door and when I checked what was available online, I realized Amberwood Doors was the only real option. I appreciated their attention to detail and how the sales rep took time to educate me about the qualities of their doors. The door I selected looks so elegant, solid and majestic that I'm struck by the sight of it every time I see it. It also keeps out the cold very efficiently. Removal of the old door and installation of the new door went very smoothly. The workers were very respectful of my home and obviously knew exactly what they were doing. I have a backyard fountain that would not turn on when I flipped the switch; an electrical outlet by my backdoor that hadn't worked in years and a front doorbell that also hadn't worked in years. My priority was the fountain, but when I mentioned the other problems, the electrician did the diagnostics and completed all the projects quickly and to my satisfaction. I appreciated the same day response to my request for a quote (2 other highly rated electricians didn't even respond to my request). The electrician obviously knew exactly what he was doing, was pleasant, courteous and very respectful of my home. I was also impressed with his explanations of what he was doing and that he gave me options. I got an education in some other electrical anomalies in my house which was an unexpected bonus. I sustained water stain damage to a very high cathedral ceiling in my home after shingles blew off my roof, followed by heavy rains. John from House and Condo Painters came promptly to give me a quote and patiently explained his process and materials used and the advantages of his company's methods vs. those of competitors. He also reassured me regarding my concern about VOCs in the paints. His crew of 4 arrived on time and completed the job in about 4 hours. They were friendly, professional, cleaned up thoroughly and did an excellent job. The only reason I haven't given them a rating of 10 is that I had to pursue John for awhile to get a receipt. Otherwise, I wouldn't hesitate to hire this company again and recommend it to others.

Recently I had Pete, the owner of PC Service On Site, find me a new computer based on my specifications and then set it up. The service was great in that I got the computer I wanted for a reasonable price and at a valuable saving of my time and energy. In attempting to transfer data from my old computer, he noted that the speed was excessively slow and I was being gouged on monthly fees. He got on the phone with me to Bell and helped me try to negotiate an upgrade for the modem and a lower monthly charge. Bell being Bell, there ensued 2 weeks of screw-ups for a service change that should have been straightforward. Throughout it all, Pete was very supportive. After I finally got the new modem installed, Pete came back and had the new computer up and running quite quickly. He walked me through everything I needed to know. I appreciated his expertise and patience in educating me, not to mention his sense of humour. And he didn't charge me for the return visit. I had to have a broken gas dryer (already detached from the gas line) removed from the second floor of my home and Sunday was the only day I was available. Zach and Geoff arrived from 1-800-Got-Junk and got the job done promptly and in a friendly, professional manner. It also helped that they promoted a charity event that the company was sponsoring. The only reason I rated the company with a 4 rather than a 5 is that there was some confusion over arranging an arrival time over the phone which led to playing phone tag.

I've been looking for just the right house cleaning service for a couple of years now. I wasn't expecting much when I found the brochure from Brilliantly Maid in my mail, but I gave it a try. I was actually blown away by the quality of service I received from the owner, Cristina. She and her assistant clean my house as if it was their own and even think of specific areas to clean that I wouldn't expect of them. Yesterday, Cristina actually got up on a ladder to clean the hard to reach areas in the upper half of a solarium and media room with high cathedral ceilings. My house is just over 3600 square feet with a finished basement and I always feel very satisfied with the quality of the cleanings. Added to this is the positive, cheerful and energetic attitude of Cristina and Cas. I'm also grateful to them for accommodating me in my preference in cleaning agents, as I am chemically sensitive and have clients coming into my home who also have similar issues. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Brilliantly Maid to anyone looking for an excellent cleaning service.

I have had this company clean my windows and eaves for a few years now. I have a 3-storey fully detached house with a solarium on the 3rd floor. Not only do I have loads of windows (plus some screens), but the height of my house makes many companies shy away from scaling a ladder to clean the outside of the solarium windows and clear my eaves. Not so for Ahmed. He's always on time, very respectful of my home, very accommodating in using a cleaning product I prefer and does a thorough job. All at a reasonable price. I would recommend this company to anyone.

A couple of months ago, I had Budget Blinds replace my home office window coverings with roll-up blinds and drapes. I was very pleased with the service I received. The look that was achieved was beautiful and serene and made the office much more attractive and inviting. I'd worked with Karen's team before on another project in my home and they were my automatic first choice when I decided I'd had enough of my worn old office blinds. I dread having to choose among endless options of fabrics, colours, etc. So I was pleasantly surprised and relieved when Karen quickly narrowed down the samples based exactly on my specifications. She has great style sense and really listened to me. I'm also impressed with the variety and quality of products offered by Budget Blinds and at reasonable prices. I find the staff are very attentive and accommodating. The installation was done on time and professionally. There was a small issue with one blind not rolling up as high as its twin on the neighbouring window, but the installer returned and fixed it quickly at no extra cost. A number of people have commented on how attractive the window coverings are. I would definitely recommend Budget Blinds and look forward to working with them again.

I have been a customer of this company for a few years. Recently, I got caught in an internet manipulation which involved a sophisticated, and fear-provoking presentation claiming that my computer had been infected with the Koobface virus and I would lose all my data if I didn't allow a certain computer company to remove the virus and install antivirus software. Against my better judgement, I allowed the culprits to take over my computer. It occurred after hours so I assumed I wouldn't be able to reach anyone at PC Service On Site. However, I did leave them a message thinking I'd get a call back the next morning. To my surprise, the owners called me within an hour and told me to unplug my computer immediately and confirmed that this was a ploy to mine my computer for personal information. They walked me through the steps to protect access to my bank accounts and credit cards. An appointment was made for Chris, their technician, to see what could be done. He arrived on time, as always, was very courteous, and within a couple of hours, checked and cleared my computer of software the bogus computer company had installed. To my relief, none of my financial or other sensitive data was compromised. And the price for the service was very reasonable. I have always had topnotch service from this company and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I purchased a Platinum Protection Plan with Water Works based on good experiences I'd had with the company in the past. As part of the plan, I received a free assessment of the plumbing in my home. Michael Yuffa did a thorough inspection and discovered a leak under one of the bathroom sinks. He replaced the entire sink with faucet and drain pipes within an hour and then did some resealing around the faucet of another sink. I've had no problems with either sink, and they look great. Michael is punctual, respectful, friendly and cleans up thoroughly. The only issue I had was that he cancelled the home inspection 3 times. This is something I'd never experienced with him in previous years. Nonetheless, I trust his work and would recommend his company highly.

I have had close to 10 plumbers do work on my home over the the last 10 years and, so far, WaterWorks has been the best of the bunch. I live in an area of Toronto where basements often get flooded so I chose to add a back-up sump pump to my basement unit. I also had a faucet in my kitchen which had broken. Michael responded to my call within the same day and easily accommodated my schedule. His manner was courteous and professional. He explained in clear terms what he would do and his rates. He completed the job within a couple of hours and cleaned up thoroughly. Everything is working perfectly and I have the peace of mind of knowing my basement is protected from flooding.
