Beware!! Check around. I had routine maintenance done on my Daikin Heat Pump today. One of the blowers needed cleaning. I was told this was not included and a complicated job. The technician called to get a quote of $355. After the blower cleaning only took about 20 minutes, I called the company to question the price. I was told the technician should not be penalized for being efficient!!! I have no complaints at this point about the work done. However, I called another company and the blower cleaning is included in their maintenance price which is the same.

I called Max because the pilot light on my gas fireplace had gone out and would not restart. He came within 2 hours, and quickly solved the problem--two wires that appeared to be connected had actually become loose.

Nick and his team did a great job on my house--replacing roof, flat roof, siding etc., window trim and deck. Nick is very passionate about his work and doing things right. It was a pleasure to hear his enthusiasm about details such as how a slight angle, extension or overlap would help water flow off or away from the house. They worked through the weekend to finish my job, in order to start the next one on time. I am still receiving compliments from my neighbours and one has already contacted Nick.

I am very happy with the work done by G&G. They did a beautiful job and go above and beyond to make sure that everything is perfect. I am making a list of other jobs I need done and am sure I'll be sleeping better knowing my house is in their care. They are so pleasant (even my cats love them) and immediately inspired my trust.

I took one look at the IKEA kitchen planner and phoned BML. Within a few days Leo and Bohdan came to discuss what I wanted, made excellent suggestions,and then e-mailed me the plan. In two days they transformed a pile of IKEA boxes into perfection. My house is 100 years old and not straight in any way--but they did a beautiful job. I don't think I have ever felt so relaxed about having people work in my house. Thanks Bodhan and Leo!

The lever on my tub spout had become stiff and finally broken off--no showers. I called and Valentin just happened to be in my neighbourhood. The job was finished in less than 3 hours after my first call. He gave me an estimate with two possibilities and confirmed after removing the spout. He left my tub clean and working well. He also gave me some great suggestions for my sink drain and the best silicone to use around my tub. I have already referred him to a friend.

Paul did a beautiful job of replacing 3 doors and their frames in my upstairs hall. My house is old (e.g., nothing is straight or level) but Paul did a perfect job. His attention to detail is amazing. My hallway has been transformed. Paul is pleasant and inspired my trust. I would definitely recommend him and hope to have him work in my house again. Thanks Paul.

I found Sobol Inc on Home Stars after another contractor told me that a screen door could not be installed on my front door. (Yes, Archie did it perfectly!) I was planning to install four screen doors but after Archie came out to measure, he advised me that I might be happier replacing two of my doors which were not in good shape. He introduced me to steel doors with working windows (so they double as a screen). He beautifully attached wrought iron bars over the windows to satisfy my security concerns. He is very patient and informative in the planning process as his philosophy is to have you happy with the end result. All the door frames were finished beautifully and I feel like my doors are pieces of functional art. Archie has not just exceptional skill—but a passion for what he does.
