We have a flat roof on the rear of our house with a 25 year old rooftop deck on top. The deck was in dire need of replacement, and although the roof underneath was not leaking, it was due for replacement as well. We searched for a company that specialized in both flat roofs and rooftop decks, and quickly found M&R had many examples of both on their website. We contacted the company, and a few days later Maciej came to assess the job. He quickly ascertained what needed to be done, and pointed out some issues with our existing roof that we should consider correcting. We asked for an estimate, and a week or two later we were given a multi-page estimate including detailed specifications for the replacement roof and deck materials, as well as their construction. As an engineer, I appreciated the effort that was put into documenting the details. Maciej explained that because our roof wasn't leaking, the job would be scheduled for later in the fall, which helped in managing our expectations. A few days before the job started in October, we were first provided a detailed work order to review and confirm, along with a list of questions to answer to ensure the job would go smoothly. On the day the job started, the old deck and roof were quickly removed, with care taken to protect our neighbour's property, and the new roof installed the same day. A few days later the replacement deck was built, and it exceeded our expectations in terms of build quality. The new deck was substantially better and stronger than the deck it replaced. In talking to the crew, it was apparent they knew what they were doing, and were taking care to make the finished product last another 25 years, if not longer. We probably won't need a roof replacement job for another few decades, but we'd recommend M&R to anyone else that needs a flat roof and rooftop deck replacement.

Every spring, our home has had some amount of water seep into the basement. This year, however, the seepage was much worse than in the past and we decided that proper waterproofing was needed. Based on positive recommendations from neighbours, we hired Watertite. I was impressed by Angelo and Rino's assessment of the issues particular to our home's construction (the basement floor is lower than the footing), and they quickly provided a recommended solution. To properly waterproof all four walls of our basement, hard work would be required, but Watertite would demonstrate they had the experience and skill to do the job properly. The work crew, led by Mike, was efficient, courteous, and despite the extensive digging and pouring of concrete involved, they tidied up the yard before leaving each day. This didn't go unnoticed by our neighbours, who commented that they were impressed by the job being done. As engineers, my wife and I were interested in the details of the work being performed, and both Angelo and Mike thoroughly explained the precautions being taken to ensure the finished job was of high quality. We are very pleased with Watertite's workmanship and attention to detail, and although we don't expect to require waterproofing again for this house, we would not hesitate to recommend their services to our neighbours.
