Night & Day Window Decor

Custom made blinds should fit the window they were measured for. You be the judge if these fit. So much for being blackout. You can see the response I got, after 6 weeks of asking, attached as well.

If you go with Night and Day, just hope they get it right. If they don't, you will just get a reference to their terms and conditions saying that refunds and exchanges are not possible, like I did.

I'm incredibly disappointed with what I received. Especially given how much I paid.

Update: also attached is a picture of the bottom rail with gap and final response from Night and Day washing their hands of this and sending me to the manufacturer to resolve.

We went a bit over our budget for blinds and drapes throughout our home but what Night & Day offered - through Laura, Mark and Darshan - was well worth it. I really must stress this point as it appears that the other options out there are a significant leap down in quality and service. Highly recommend Night & Day! This is clearly a company, and team, that cares.

I needed new shades for our house. A consultant came and took the time to examine the home and my needs. She had great options for my particular home. Once I decided on the shades, the team was helpful and always available for questions. The installer was incredible. He took pride in his work. He examined every shade to make sure they met the Hunter Douglas standards and came back to fix any problems. Could not recommend highly enough.

Great experience! The selection process was helpful and stress-free. Appointment times were punctual ad efficient. All touch points were professional. Communication about delivery delay due to COVID was proactive. Michael the installer was fantastic. I love the final product.

Facts:
1. Paid $7000 for a "high-end" product during a global recession.
2. Waited 2 months to receive product.
3. Blinds were installed and three weeks later three of the four Hunter Douglas Duette shades malfunctioned. Night and Day reps told me "I was using them wrong". Eventually sent installer back to retrieve shades for service. No apology.
4. Blinds brought back after several weeks. Strings from a defective batch. No apology.
5. Installer put blinds up. One fell off the ceiling immediately. Installer came back and put it back up. No apology.
6. Called Hunter Douglas customer service. They did not apologize and told me to talk to Night and Day.
7. Spoke to Hunter Douglas rep, as per Night and Day's request. He was somewhat apologetic for poor product/service/experience but did not offer a refund or tangible solution. Said he would follow-up with Night and Day.
8. A Duette blind fell off the ceiling for the second time after a few weeks. The wall anchor and screw both came out of the drywall. The anchor used was insufficient for the weight of the blind. I called the store after trying to replace the blind for an hour on a Saturday. Spoke to Night and Day sales rep. Was told that "this never happened before". No apology.
9. Owner of Night and Day called on Tuesday (this was after a long weekend).
10. Told me that I am an awful person for making her staff upset. Got mad at me for getting mad at them. No apology.
11. Was also reminded of other "possible reasons" for blinds falling off the ceiling including alleged water damage (if true, "professional" installer should have noticed), and that the delays were due to COVID. There was no delay, however, to receive full payment during COVID. Invoices promptly issued every time during COVID.
12. Several days later sent another installer. This is the fifth installation visit during a global pandemic. He completed the job. Re-installed the other incorrectly installed blinds.
13. Told Hunter Douglas rep what transpired. No apology.
14. Final interaction: Night and Day owner emailed me to remind me that I received a discount. Also reminded me that I got a "free" pebble to house my remote for the motorized blinds. Told me this is valued at $78. No apology or refund, just a reminder that I "got a discount". This was a $7000 transaction.

I stopped communicating with both Night and Day and Hunter Douglas as they offered no refund (best case) or apology (basic customer relations management). Save your money and go to a "discount" blinds store. Thank you for taking the time to read about my experience.

Easy experience. All the work was done by Night & Day, including measuring and installation. I did not have to even leave the house as samples were brought to me. I got the Hunter Douglas Silhouette blinds and they are beautiful.

Great customer service at every touch point. The price point is a bit higher, then big box store competitors but you don’t get the same great customer experience, but I feel I got higher quality product and service here.

Our experience with Night and Day Window Décor was effortless and fulfilling from beginning to the very end. The designer we met with was a dream to work with from the very first time we spoke over the phone. She was prompt in all her responses (punctual at all times, even during a snow storm) and took her time to show us the endless options for colours, designs and a choice between manual and battery operated blinds. She pretty much held our hand every step of the way. It took only four and a half weeks from the time we made our choices until the install and we are beyond happy with our blinds. The installer was another gem that I can’t say enough great things about. He was courteous, quick and patient when installing the blinds and the wifi-operated hub. What a dream team! Not only were we treated with utmost respect but also the service was impeccable, quick and we got a fantastic discount on both the product and the installation.
