Reliable Dryer Vent

Hired these guys from homestars..I was so impressed with the techs knowledge of chimneys.I gave him a card and said "id hire you in a minute,and if you ever need work call me".. He politely said no(good answer)(good employee)... Cant remember his name but im sure you'll get him..Vouch for this company and that tech whom i cant remember his name? Joe in Whitby

This company provided first rate service. They showed up as promised and explained what they were going to do. The job was completed in about 1 hour and they did not make a mess. They adjusted the flu and the fireplace works like new. I would definitely recommend this company.

Just had Adam from Magic Touch in to clean my chimney flue. It was for a wood fireplace that had a chimney in such poor shape it was removed when we put on the 3rd story. As soon as Adam knew there was no chimney and the opening had been covered over, he said that if he cleaned the flue without an updraft, I would have a mess of soot throughout the house as it had nowhere to go but into my living room. He said he could still clean, but cautioned me I would probably not be happy. I agreed, so as an alternative, he cleaned what he could with a vaccuum and filled the opening with fireproof insulation so minimal, if any, soot
would drop down - and because he did not clean the whole flue, he reduced the quoted price.

He left the room as clean as it was when he arrived; he was punctual, pleasant and a delight to have in the house. Donna who made all of the initial arrangements was a pleasure to deal with.

Now I can put my electric "wood stove" into the opening knowing it will remain clean.

I respect the integrity of a company that has people with such such honesty. I have already recommended them to others.

Had these guys come to the house a few years ago, we have a fire about 4 times per year. They did a full cleaning and replaced the cap at the top to prevent critters from getting in.

I recently had Magic Touch come in to look at our chimney as we are new home owners and wanted to ensure smooth operation during our first winter at the house. The service that was provided was very professional, and the gentleman was very diligent about keeping things clean as he worked. He made observations regarding the chimney structure and tips for ongoing use that I'm not sure would have been provided by "run-of-the-mill" service providers.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the service that was provided and would recommend Magic Touch to anyone looking for a chimeny sweep.

We found Magic Touch through Homestars and decided to give them a call. We found that they were affordable, and had very knowledgeable people who could answer all of our questions. The technician they sent was excellent, and we will definitely call them back next year.

Had my chimney cleaned by Adam from Magic Touch. He was very pleasant and did a great job. The receptionist was also very pleasant...nice to talk to someone on the phone with a cheery personality. Will use this company again next year.

We had a problem with our chimney - fumes that made the house smoke and set off carbon monoxide detectors. Yikes!

After getting several quotes from chimney companies, we decided to go with Magic Touch - not on price but on a gut feel. The technician, Richard, who did the initial inspection, was very good. He gave us the lowdown in easy to understand terms. He never gave us the impression that he was trying to upsell us on unnecessary work or repairs. It was all on the level. The diagnosis was we needed a new chimney liner (incidentally the quote for this was pretty much identical with all companies we contacted).

When Richard returned with his assistant to begin work, they discovered a new problem. The fireplace was not up to code due to drywall and wooden studs installed too close to the firebox. At first I suspected a scam in which they were going to ask us for more money.

Not so. This wasn't the kind of work they do. Richard regrettably informed us that we'd need to get a general contractor to remedy the situation before he could begin work. The company would not proceed until the fireplace was up to code. So clearly it was a concern for our safety - and the responsibility for his company to do work up to code. Who knows what would have happened if we had cone with someone else?

Richard also informed us that if we were unwilling or financially unable to bring the fireplace up to code, Magic Touch would refund our deposit 100%, no questions asked.

Well, we decided to go through with it. And after hiring a third party to correct the fireplace code shortcomings, we had Richard return to complete the job, which was done to perfection.

Upon completion you'd have never know anyone was there, let alone a couple of guys that had been rooting around inside the guts of fireplace and chimney!

We'd also like to mention the office staff - Donna in particular was very pleasant and accommodating when we had to reschedule due to the unforeseen problems. Despite the fact that things became a lot busier for the company since our first booking, Donna was able to get the guys back in to complete the job in a timely fashion.

Amazing service from beginning to end. Donna was lovely on the phone, she took the time to explain how the appointment would go and to find a time that worked for me. She called the day before to confirm the appointment. Adam was supposed to come between 2-4pm and was here promptly at 2pm. He was quick, clean and very informative. He put chimney caps on and even took the time to take pictures of my roof to show me that our shingles need to be replaced.
I will definitely be calling Adam back next year!
