Angel Interiors & Custom Upholstery

This is not a sort relationship. We began dealing with John in the mid to late 1990's and overall have been pretty satisfied with his work. When we recovered our early 1900's couch early last year we saw issues within a month or two...but again we have had a relationship with him so I felt we could work something out. About Sept/Oct 2018 we chose some new material and I asked him to price it out and get back to me. I must have gone in to see him at least 7-8 times and I still don't have that quote. We found someone else to do our work and he was excellent. When he first came because of the issues with the bottom webbing breaking he wanted to see what was going on, so with our permission he cut the material that was to be replaced. John had never removed the old fabric so it still had the fabric on it from before 1995. So it had three layers. Like I said he has done other work for us but I could not in good conscience ever recommend him to anyone.

Upholstery and service on two chairs was very good, however the cushion seat seams were not straight. Was happy with service. Went back a second time to get two outdoor cushion and pillow cases made, was astonished at the extremely poor workmanship of the pillows and the condescending attitude when I raised my unhappiness at the crooked seam, uneven measurements and lack of finishing on seams. Pillow cases seem to be such an easy thing to do right, but they totally missed on this one.

We had 2 teak chairs that needed to be recovered. Angel Interiors was great helping us pick the fabric and take fabric swatches home with us. When we had picked the fabric they came to the house to take the chairs away and then delivered them recovered.

Angel Interiors did a fantastic job on an antique chair that needed some love and attention - the springs had sprung, the wood was looking dull, and we wanted a new fabric choice. When we walked in with the chair, John immediately recognized the style, and talked to us about it's manufacture. I brought in my own fabric, but he had an excellent selection to choose from in the shop. When we came in to pick it up, we almost didn't recognize it. The wood was restored to it's original lustrous sheen, the seat was fixed, and the double piping on the chair was an added detail that most upholsterers wouldn't bother with. Really knowledgeable, fair pricing, and outstanding work. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again...in fact, my dining room chairs may head his way shortly!

John provides excellent customer service, timely estimates, and has a very good eye and will offer suggestions and opinions on decor and upholstery. Reasonably priced. Excellent quality work and craftsmanship. Full selection of fabrics from all major fabric houses including Robert Allen, Kravet, JoAnn Fabrics, Barrow Industries, Waverly and more. We have been using John for over 5 years now - he has reupholstered several sofas, arm chairs, has made brand new dining room chairs for us and made and installed custom silk drapery. Highly, Highly recommended.
