Do not recommend - avoid

As a long-time satisfiend customer, I will no longer be working with Arrow.

Following a 2019 installation of a new airconditioner that has proven to be faulty since installation Arrow will not honour the warranty or uninstall and refund. Arrow has tried to service the unit to no avail and I am now 5 years in with a barely working unit.

I can't be bothered with small claims court at this point. When my furnace goes in the next few years, Arrow will not be getting my business.

A hard do not recommend from a long-time satisfied customer.

After 5 calls asked so that I would not be taken advantage of Again, It will did.

They said they would bring everything they would need to install 2 window air conditioners. I am a seriously ill and disabled senior woman on disability from my former employer. I live on a fixed income, every year when I file my taxes and I get a refund, that refund goes towards my insurance, gifts for grandsons or family and my wants and needs, so I had put aside enough to buy a new window air conditioner and for installation. They quoted me and two others 219.00 plus taxes. But the team they sent were here to have some fun, and take me for as much as they could. They came here with nothing, so they said they would need to go and get what they wanted to use. Remember, one was brand new and came with most of what is needed. However, the bedroom one was a few years old but very small. She installed it so that it was tipped in to my house. I didn’t know until later when a person looked and said it wasn’t installed right and you could tell it only if you went outside. But everything they did was presented to me almost like they practiced a play, Amanda stood with Dave, the other senior installer, and went through the bill she was going to hand me like this; she showed him it and said is this here correct, and he shook his head yes, uh hum, and she continued in the same way, with Dave answering in several different ways with answer’s like, yes that is correct, and yup, and so on. I sat in my wheelchair and was getting nervous, because I should be the person she was showing the bill to, wouldn’t you think? Once she was finished she walked over to me with this look that I couldn’t quit put a finger on. But when she slapped the bill down in front of me, she had a look of defiance and like she was holding back laughter. He was watching her and and gave me that same look! When I looked down at the charges as it was almost double, and would take almost every cent I had left, this was on the 11th of June, so there was not going to be enough left for my grandsons birthdays. When I looked down at the bill I was trying to stand up for myself and so I asked them where was the receipt for the two purchases of 2 x 24”x 24” flat stock(?) 32.00 plus insulating foam tape 22.00, and she looked up at Dave and said oooh, I got that other stuff too on it, an answer that was clearly rehearsed, and so she again had that look and told me nope, she couldn’t give me that receipt. The other charges they made were paying each other 95.00x 2 plus they also charged me an additional 99.00 because they had to LEAVE AND GO GET THE TAPE AND FLAT SHEET TIN. But at the time I did not want to give in to what they were clearly trying to do, humiliating me! Because I live in subsidised housing that I pay geared to income rent on, because I was on disability??? Why? I was not thinking straight and I didn’t know my rights, so I wrote them the cheque. Dave was out that door so quick and Amanda was following him and I caught her literally trying to run around the corner so I wouldn’t see, but she was holding my cheque and her stomach and trying to
keep from laughing, BUT I DID SEE! That night it
rained, and in my bedroom the water came flooding
down from the window and onto the back of my oak dresser so much that the colour looked rusty. But I
had been sleeping and didn’t find this out till I got up
to go to the bathroom. I transferred into my
wheelchair and I didn’t feel it at first because I can’t
feel much below the calves, but I got splashed going
through my door and then saw it was starting to run down my hallway. I had to call the Homecare staff to come and mop it up in the middle of the night. So then I was angry, and the next day I called their office to complain about all of it. I was angry but I did not swear or anything I just asked what kind of business were they running for their employees to do this. I got a call back right away from the same young man we all talked to, and he basically covered it all up and told me that my bedroom air conditioner was just plugged and that had nothing to do with the installation, so it was not covered. He told me he had asked the owner what he should do, and because of me asking them what kind of deal were they running, since I can’t used a banned word, that is how I can describe why they would not come back and fix the bedroom air conditioner. So I asked him how I was going to do that and was told that I would have to call someone else. I then told him how was I supposed to pay for that, since he said basically he didn’t care. So that is why they do not get any stars! I should have called the better business bureau, or the franchise they represent, because I think the would care. I was left with thinking that this person on the phone screwed up and gave them the wrong informed as well, like one was à Portable air conditioner and one a window installation, and felt like the guy also didn’t want it to get back to the owner. But his voice tone was all over the place. I have a very difficult time standing up for myself face to face and it’s easier over the phone. My family were trying to help me because they knew how sick I was and that it effects my health. Hbb57

New Owners decided to try them out

Furnace was over 20 years old, recommended to replace. Was also informed of Enbridge Energy rebate prior to work being performed by their team. They delayed installation for me to get to audit done then were very quick to move and replace furnace, ac and tankless water heater. They were in and out in a few days with no mess to clean up. Thanks Arrow

Heating System in New Home

Arrow was hired to install a radiant floor heating system and air conditioning system. The system was not installed correctly and many visits by their technicians were attempted to resolve these issues to no avail. I had to hire a third party company to solve some of the issues as Arrow was not able to fix the system. I asked Arrow to pay the bill of the third party contractor and they refused.

Furnace repair

The furnace that the repair is being done on is only 3 years old, still under warranty for parts. Service call alone is over $107.00, plus with every part that needs to be replaced I'm being charged shipping and now they've added a new charge called the warranty paperwork fee which is $75.00 ( what the heck is this for?). So now I've been waiting since Friday this past week, in this cold weather with sick people in the home and the temperature of the house set at 19 degrees. They don't care about their customers, they just care about hiding in fees and over charging. I have a feeling that I'm being ripped off, but don't know who to talk too, but if I am I would really like to know how I can get my money back and teach them a lesson as well.. Back in June of this year I had to call them because the AC wasn't working and when they came, apparently it was the control panel that needed to be replaced, paid $50 for shipping of the part. And the worker installed it in 30 mins and still charged me for the whole hour. I don't feel comfortable with this company and I regret listening to my friend suggesting it.

Air Conditioning Repair

Our AC stopped in middle of July heat wave. Called Arrow - remarkably fit us in. Dhani worked over 1 hour to fix fan damaged when contractor stepped on it - worked over 1 hour in heat and now works like charm. Very trustworthy - great value.

furnace problems

I was B Tagged by Arrow for high CO emissions because the gaskets needed replacing. The only option they provided was to upgrade to a higher efficiency boiler. I never received a response to my requests for a quote to replace the gaskets or a rental option. I contacted other contractors through Homestar for a second option and canvas my options. Thanks to Homestar I found a contractor who repaired/replaced my gaskets and removed by B Tag for a fraction of the costs of replacing my boiler. I am disappointed that Arrow put my wife and I in a stressful situation without full disclosure and discussions of all our options.

Heating

Do yourself a favour and avoid Arrow Heating & Air Conditioning at all costs. Our heating wasn't working and this was the company that was listed on our combo unit water boiler (from previous home owners). They incorrectly diagnosed the problem (Chris), charged us for their work even though the main issue of the heating wasn't solved and then said that we should call Direct Energy. Such a headache dealing with these guys and will never call them again. I can assure you that there are much better companies in Toronto to correctly diagnose and fix.

Relocation of ductwork

Terrible contractor. Avoid using Arrow. They showed up a day early unannounced. Was hired to relocate two furnace duct pipes during a kitchen reno. Seemed to lack confidence during execution of job. Made large holes in ceiling and floor - some of which turned out to be unnecessary. Cut into electrical wires. A least they fixed the wire but did not fix holes around wire. Also took a long time to schedule job
