To say I am satisfied is an understatement. I had four quotes to remove a massive silver maple, and prune to large silver maples that hadnt every been maintained but had a lot of damage. Dereks team was professional, had an army show up and did the job efficiently in one day (everyone else said it would take 3 days!!!). Hard working bunch and they did an incredible job. My neighbours marvelled at what they accomplished. I am very glad I went with Derek. They even chopped down a small tree that I had forgotten to mention. I would not hesitate to use these guys again, and I probably will when I need maintenance on my trees. Clearly these are professionals. Were they the cheapest, no, but Id hate to trust a job of this importance to the lowest bidder, rather Dereks price was fair and value for the money. UPDATE: As the weather warmed up a bit and I ventured outside, I didn't realize that when I was asked if I wanted to keep the wood, that I would be left with massive pieces. Some are very difficult to move, even with 2 or 3 people. As someone who is not experienced with tree removal, this should have been made clear to me that I would require a hydraulic log splitter if I had intended on using the wood for firewood. Rather when I called Derek back, he wasn't very sympathetic, essentially suggesting that this was what I asked for. Not impressed with the tone of the call nor the response I got..

Also, now that I have had some time to remove some of the thick bed of sawdust from where the tree stood, the stump I had paid to be grinded down, actually has some of it still sticking out of the ground. Based on my experience on calling Derek about the way the wood was left, I didn't bother calling him back about this so to be fair, he doesn't even know about this. Unfortunately my experience has now been marred by this, though I stand by all the positives I stated below. I'll update this if anything is done.
