Told us we needed a new furnace
Had our annual furnace check (we have the heating/maintenance plan). Tech was here for all of 20 minutes told us our heat exchanger was rusty and we needed a new furnace!! I got a second opion from another HVAC company, and they were here for 2 hours doing a complete diagnostic on our furnace and AC. Furnace was fine and there was nothing wrong with the heat exchanger - it was not rusty - and he showed me. Cancelled our heating and maintenance plan with Enercare immediately. They are trying to get you to purchase a piece of equipment you do not need so they (the tech and whoever else) can get bonus $$ on their next pay. IMO Have been advised to file a complaint with CTV Consumer Watch . Sent an email to Enercare and have not heard back
