Thank you for contacting Gas Fix to service your gas fireplace. Our technicians are very thorough in the service they provide. Our service extends beyond just cleaning the glass and lighting the pilot to vacuuming the unit and blowing out those areas we can't reach with the vacuum with an air compressor. We also check for carbon monoxide, check the safety on the gas valve and do a draft test on the ventilation. As noted, we also take additional precautions by putting a mat down so we do not dirty the floors or carpets. Our technicians are very knowledgeable when it comes to gas fireplaces. They are also very knowledgeable when it comes to pool heaters, water heaters and furnaces. Should you require any service in the future to your gas appliances, please do not hesitate to contact us. ~ Jason ~

Gas Fireplace

Charles came to inspect my gas fireplace. He informed me of what needed to be done to repair/replace. He was very clean and laid down a mat so not to get my carpet dirty. He also cleaned the fireplace. Charles was pleasant and informative and gave great advice on the fireplace, as well as our dryer, which wasn't properly vented. I would definitely recommend this company.

New FirePlace

Firstly, I would like to state that the original service call (by Joe) to look into my old fireplace and quote for a new one, was very good (Cost: $167). I was also happy with the service on the installation of the new fireplace (Cost: $1600). However, after using the new gas fireplace a few times, the logs started collect a lot of soot. I was told by Joe (the technician who come over initially) that I could use the old logs with this fireplace. The earlier fireplace using the same logs did not generate any soot over the 5 years I have been in this house. Now, Scott says that gas fireplaces creates soot and it is normal, even though a lot of research on the internet & my experience with my old fireplace, says otherwise. Apparently, GasFix does not take responsibility for after-sales, and Scott refused to send some one over to have a look. I am disappointed that after spending 167 to look into the old fireplace and 1600 for a new fireplace, I have to get some other company to rectify the issue, just one month after installation. I expected someone to at least come and have a look at the issue, but it appears that after sales is not a priority with GasFix, this after being assured that if there is any issues I just have to call them.
The surprising part is that when I called regarding the soot, they mentioned that it is not normal and were ok with sending someone to look at it. Once Scott realized that they themselves had installed the fireplace, he did not want to send anyone (since they may not be able to charge me, I assume) and kept saying that it is normal.

Praveep – First, we would like to thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We are pleased that you found the initial service call good and that you are happy with the installation of the new gas log fireplace. Second, we would like to apologize for the miscommunication that transpired after the installation and will do our best to provide some insight. When you and I (Jason) initially spoke to arrange the return call to check out the unit, I did mention that sooting is not normal and we did arrange to send out our technician. As I am not the technical one nor one of the gas technicians, I was incorrect in my assessment, considering the type of fireplace you had, and the general manager, Scott, clarified the difference to me. For those fireplaces that are fully enclosed, sooting is not normal and the unit would have to be serviced. For gas log sets, such as the gas log set you have, sooting is normal. With the decorative style burners available today that have an ember bed, sooting is normal unlike those burner systems made in the past, such as your previous Wanderflame gas log set. Again, we are sorry for the miscommunication that happened. If you would like to give us a call, we are willing to send out the head technician to service the unit at no costs to you or make alternate arrangements to your satisfaction. ~ Jason ~

Gas Fireplace Repair

Gasfix scheduled a service call immediately; even during this busy time of year for fireplace repairs and servicing. Dwayne arrived on time and got right to work. Once the work was completed on the gas fireplace he took the time to explain ongoing maintenance and care. He even suggested and left us with a product we weren't aware of that will add to the enjoyment of our fires; permanent glowing embers. They stock many parts which eliminates return visits. Gasfix excels at customer service. I will call them again and recommend them to others.

Thank you for your review and for contacting Gas Fix to service your Flame & Co. fireplace. From the staff that answers the calls in the office to the technicians that we have in the field, like Dwayne, we try to provide the best service that we can from start to finish. Great experience from start to finish. First rate and prompt customer service both over the phone and from repairman Dwayne. The problem was explained clearly and all the parts were in his truck. We were so impressed--professional, friendly, knowledgeable. And the bonus was that Dwayne cleaned the fireplace so well that the flames look better than before! Thanks for the top-notch service.

Thank you, Karen, for contacting Gas Fix to service your Instaflame fireplace. The model that you have is a DV34RN and those units contain a Mercury Flame Switch, which is now an obsolete part. Contractors will tell you one of two things with this model: 1.) It can't be repaired and you need a new unit that will cost between $3000 to $5000 or 2.) It can be repaired and it will cost between $1000 to $1200. We are the contractor telling you that it can be repaired! We are very happy that you chose Gas Fix to upgrade the unit. As noted, Dwayne had both the gas valve and pilot assembly for the job already on his vehicle. As we specialize in the repair and maintenance of gas fireplaces, our technicians carry over 300 of the most common parts on their vehicles, such as the remote we also installed. We never tire from hearing how great a fireplace looks once our technician has given it a thorough cleaning. Thank you again for choosing us and we look forward to working with you in the future! ~ Jason ~

Thank you for contacting Gas Fix to service your gas fireplace. Many contractors will light the pilot and clean the glass and call that a safe/clean fireplace but we try to be different. We will vacuum out the fireplace and use a compressor to get to those areas that the vacuum can't get to. We also test the various components to ensure that they are all working as they should. Should you have any issues in the future, whether it's a furnace, fireplace, pool heater or water heater, please do not hesitate to contact us. ~ Jason ~

Fireplace

Original 25 year old fireplace that hadn't been serviced in 4 years had gas smell coming from it. Joe from Gas Fix promptly came out to the house, tested absolutely everything and put my mind at ease. He even taught me how the fireplace worked internally. Couldn't be happier with my service and would highly recommend Gas Fix. It's pretty easy to see why their reviews are so good!

Thank you for your review and for contacting Gas Fix to service your Reyco fireplace. The quality of service provided by our technicians is top notch in our industry. As noted, we do test absolutely everything. Aside from checking the EMU and head coil on the gas valve and the various switches that are in a gas fireplace, we always check the safety on the gas valve, do a carbon monoxide test and a draft test on the ventilation. As the initial reason for being there was to check for a gas leak, we did soap test all the connections to ensure that there was no leak. Should you ever require service in the future, either for the fireplace, furnace or hot water heater, please do not hesitate to contact us. ~ Jason ~
