To coincide with a full house move, I booked another company (that shall remain nameless...for now) to move 3 appliances from Milton to Mississauga.
Despite scheduling everything well in advance, the company didn't show up. The fact that an emergency happened on their end was totally understandable -- these things happen. But the fact that they didn't attempt to do anything to help me out was disappointing. And then they flat out told me that "I would have to reschedule."
Uh...well, if this were Little House on the Prairie and they were the only mover within 3 day's buggy ride, then yeah. But this is the GTA. Acting as if you have a monopoly on the appliance moving marketplace isn't good strategy. Actually, it's insanely arrogant. Or just stupid.
Either way, I was in a tight spot and it was around 7pm. So, I came here to Homestars, looked at a few companies, and reached out to High-Speed Moving. Within about half an hour, their dispatcher responded and provided me with a very competitive quote and multiple delivery time options. He also broke down the quote so that I could see how his numbers added up (e.g. X amount for moving the appliances, X amount for removing the old appliances from the house, etc.). This was professional and appreciated.
I went ahead and hired Hi-Speed Moving, and the experience was simply outstanding. They even allowed me to switch the pick-up/delivery window on short notice (note: if you end up hiring them and have a similar request but they can't accommodate you, then don't hold it against them -- I'm sure they will if they can, but obviously it's not guaranteed).
The movers showed up on time, and were very competent, efficient and courteous. Everything was done much faster than I expected. It's always nice to watch professionals work.
I unreservedly recommend this company, and will not hesitate to hire them again if I need anything moved. They came through when another company let me down, and turned a stressful situation into a very positive experience. Thank you team at Hi-Speed Moving! Keep up the great work.
