Logan Moving And Storage Company No Longer In Business

Originally quoted $150 for first two hours and $60 per hour for every hour after (as quoted by Andrew at Easy Moving Solutions Aka Logan moving & Storage). Prices previously quoted were changed when random 3rd party (LMS Moving & Storage) showed up to move our stuff (two Indian guys). They said the new fee was $175 for the first two hours and said we needed to pay a deposit of $350 UP FRONT before they would even begin. They also tried to gouge us for stairs and travel, but we previously confirmed no stair fees at the time of referral. They made us pay in cash up front and held our stuff hostage (with the clock ticking) on the truck until they got the balance of $500!!! They carelessly banged furniture into walls and worked very slowly. Both guys would carry an empty storage bin and then sit it outside of the truck. When it started to rain the guys just let all our wood furniture sit out in the rain and never attempted to load it on the truck to protect it. They used no drop clothes or sheets to keep them from scratches and dents and the truck was FILTHY and covered in debris that ultimately cracked all the legs and ends of my furniture.

During the unload, my husband and I did most of the heavy lifting and eventually the movers even started handing us boxes and furniture to bring in. They no longer voluntarily brought items up or down stairs (they expected us to do it). While watching, one of the movers dropped my portable AC unit off the truck and it crashed to the pavement. They didn’t see me watching and never mentioned it. Next, they put one of my large built-in cabinets on the sidewalk and let it sit there while they moved lighter, easier items (I think they were hoping my husband and I would grab it). The wind pushed it over and it crashed onto the sidewalk, completely destroying it. The movers refused to provide any compensation (they already had our money) and told us to contact the ‘boss’ to see about going through Insurance. In the days following, the owner has hung up on us repeatedly, blocked our numbers and won’t return our calls/texts about getting a claim form for the thousands of dollars in damage to our items and furniture. Reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and will be suing them in Small Claims Court.

500.00 cash befor they start to load then when we load the truck and the doors are closed they tell it's goin to be another 400.00 cash befor they leave to my new house not bad eh for a company that tells ya there 95 an hourand lets not forget the 4 of ou load in an hour and a half so after I call the police on seen they drop it 200.00 theses people give you a contract to sign then when your stuffs on the truck they change the contract now remember you signed it at the start of the move so they can ad anything they want cause you already signed what ever you do don't use easy move in Hamilton they just broker your stuff out to movers like L M S movers in Brampton then when you call easy move to complain your told to go. Yourself worst experience I have ever had in my life I wish I could show you the pics of all the damage seriously people stay away

After checking out several moving companies, I was impressed with LMS guarantee of "honest, reliable, insured,bonded and we treat your home like our own"...what a crock!! I called the day before to confirm the truck and was told we were good to go for the next day at 2pm--28' truck, 2 men, blankets,bubble wrap,dolly etc. At 2:30 pm the next day I called to see where the movers were and was told that they tried to call me earlier that morning to see if we still wanted the truck..ummm..YES!!?? The dispatcher ( Matthew) said that not everybody closes on their moving day...whatttt?? I said nobody had left a msg while we were at the lawyers and he said they were too busy to leave msgs> Obviously, pretty stunned but also stuck and in need of a truck, I said " when will they be here?" Was told there was an 18' truck available in Toronto ( i live in Hamilton) and would take about an hour to get to me. Told him that 18' was too small and was told they would make 2 trips and wouldn't charge me?? Truck showed up at 3:30 pm with a Heating/AC Company Logo on it and movers then back the truck up directly to my front porch ( blocking traffic). Couldn't figure out how to use the ramp and proceded to ram it into the porch and break the parging! When I booked the move I told them I have a very large King bedroom set and was told "no problem". As they were coming down the stairs I heard banging and thumping and as they were loading my dresser on the truck ( bubble wrap/blankets on my front lawn!) I saw the dents in the wall they had just made. I went into the truck and saw the marks on my dresser and said "you need to be careful..look what you did" As they didn't speak English very well, I took them into the house and showed them what they did and they said "ok..sorry" I was thinking I'd take this up with their HO and do a damage claim after the move..silly me! I was in another room cleaning and heard more thumping/banging and when I checked on them, they had wedged my brand new china cabinet ( sans wrapping) against my footboard and dresser and a peice was missing off of it. I also noticed the gouges in my hardwood floors where they had dragged everything across! I immediately told them to stop and checked inside the truck and every single piece was damaged! I called LMS and was told " what do you expect..sh*t happens when you move!" I told them I expected professionals and he called me a B**ch!!. As I had to pay them $300 in cash upfront, I told him I wanted either a) somebody to come down right away to see the damage OR b) unload the truck and give me back my money..he then told me to F*** O** and said he was coming down to shove the furniture up my A** and I was nothing but a C***!!! I hung up and called 911 and after the officer saw what they had done, he told them they were lucky it wasn't his wife as they'd need 2 cruisers at the scene! The officer said that even tho this was a civil matter, he'd stay to watch them offload the truck.The movers informed the officer he "didn't know the law" and they didn't have to give him any info ie) drivers licence/ID/Insurance etc. Finally, info was given to the officer, truck was offloaded ( they wanted extra $$ for OVERTIME) and at 7:30 pm we found a uhaul and thanks to wonderful family/neighbours we arrived at our new home at 10pm that night. I have since called and spoke to LMS and was told I was a cheap B**** and that they are only insured for cargo in transit and that my stuff was all garbage anyways and I could just go F*** myself...professionals for sure. Just now in the process of going to small claims court and luckily, the officer who arrived that day, wants to go with me! Apparently many of these movers out of Brampton ( had a Hamilton ph #?) were featured on W5 recently and the officer says they need to be stopped. DO NOT USE LMS or any toher mobers that simply give a quote on the phone...make them come to your home ahead of time for a walk through and a guarnatee in writing..hard lesson learned by me.

The move itself was not bad, but 0 stars given for being dishonest with the cost and over charging. Was given a rate on the phone with no extra charges. First thing these guys do is ask for a deposit when they show up, and start tacking on charges.

We booked LMS to move for us as they quoted me 180$ for 3 hours, when the bill came out it was $367!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a piece of junk company, have filed complaint w BBB. Please dont make teh same mistake we made.

Needed Logan movers only for their movers at our Toronto location but the person answering the phones convinced us that it would be cheaper if we rented their truck and have their movers do pick up and drop off.

Agreed and it was a big mistake. The two guys showed up 2 hours early to the move out location and then said we had to pay them $500 in cash (which we were never told). Refused but in the end had to get them $200 for gas money.

Sloppy and ripped furniture on the way out. We told the company we would meet them at noon at the Toronto location and they said it was fine. Driver's wanted us there for 9am forcing us to drive from Ottawa to Toronto in the middle of the night all so they could show up at 12:30.

They spent most of their time just taking stuff off the truck and making us bring it in and then charged us $60 plus tax extra for stairs.

Took off immediately after the last object so nothing could be confirmed.
My wallet and watch went missing between when I paid them and when they left. Interesting coincidence.

HORROR MOVE
said $180 for 2 hours or under I was only moving next door and it took them 50 minutes they wanted $380 I said no way and they came down to $280 I said No so the man that came to move me said he would do it for $250 since I had no choice I said yes

Lured us with a quote of 40$ per hour with 2 men and truck.Overcharging begins the instant they land at the door. They realize that you have already planned for your move (you booked the elevators , made other arrangements) and cannot cancel it. First its the advance of $200 (never mentioned when we booked it), then the travel charges and then charges if some thing is greater than 100lbs. And then they keep saying every little thing is more than 100lbs. After loading everything in the truck, they showed us all these charges and they would'nt move if we did not pay up. The nightmare began after we called up the owner to talk about these additional charges. The guy speaks in words that are too obscene to write here.He would'nt come down from the f-words and threatened that he would ask his workers to dump everything on the road if we did not want to pay.These guys are'nt registered with BBB so threatening to complain also has no effect. It was a miserable and a very hurtful experience for us.I wonder if there are routes to take any legal action against this company. Stay away, find some one that is registered with the BBB and can give you an upfront quote and stick to it. Lesson learnt , the hard way !

well this happen in 2007 and I will never forget them. One they were late they were swearing left right and center. They were rude to me and my husband and One guy yelled at me because I wrap my mattress up and he had a hard time moving it. He told me to never do that again! I didn't know what to say. we only wanted to be over with. when they got to the new address they ask for cash and that they would unload once we paid. I said you boss has are credit card and he didn't say anything about that. My husband had to go to the bank and they sat there until he came back. once we paid them. at the end they ask for a tip! saying their boss doesn't pay them well. one said the boss hold their pay back two weeks so they wont leave. DON'T ever use them.. I am looking right now for movers and I came across this and I just had to add my story. see I never forgot and this was almost 4 years ago.

I hired Logan Moving and Storage Company (or SMS Moving and Storage as they also go by) to move my One bedroom apartment at from north york to downtown Toronto Ontario. They arrived at my apartment at 9pm on Saturday April 30th 2011 3 hours late, during which time i tried calling the company to find out if they were still coming only to get hung up on multiple times. When they finally arrived they were rude and unprofessional dragging my furniture on the ground and dropping boxes and bags. As soon as we arrived to the new location they demanded that i pay them now or they would not unload the truck and leave, when i asked for a copy of the contract or a receipt they said they were unable to provide me with one. They started unloading my belongings at the front of the building but was later asked to move to the back by a Security Guard. They quickly moved to the back and started unloading more of my belongings, leaving some of my furniture in the Front unattended. I asked them to please move the furniture in the front first while I watched the truck and furniture in the back, they agreed and I waited for them in the back. When they came back they proceeded to unload the rest of the truck in the back alley way of my new building. They told me everything was out of the truck and then they jumped in their truck and drove off, leaving me abandoned in the back of an alley way in Toronto with all of my furniture at 12am. I am a 22 year old female and there is no way i could move any of my furniture by myself (hence why i hired the movers in the first place) I quickly went upstairs to call for help only to realize that some of my belongings were still sitting in the front of the building unattended for the past hour. With the majority of my furniture being outside i chose to stay there waiting for my family to come from out of town to help. After sorting and unpacking I realized I am missing a Black Rocking chair and I am not sure if they still have it or if it was taken by someone else while they left my stuff unattended. Ive been calling them for the past 2 days with zero response from anyone. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN!
