Maid Day No Longer In Business

We hired this company to help us cleaning our house. We gave a short and specific list of what needed to be clean (this did not include cleaning appliances). The list was reviewed by the 2 employees (who showed up late) and they agreed to work from the list. They worked very slowly (but not to gain in efficiency). When I pointed some dirty marks to be cleaned, I was told that I had very good eyes (the marks were very easy to spot). They cut corners as if no one would notice it wasn't done (no vacuum under the bed, bottom of toilet not cleaned, windows not clean on the upper floor). If they cannot work of your list when they said they would and agreed to the tasks, then they should specify what will get done with a specific list. I didn't mind the price of the services. The work just didn't get done. One employee was on her cell phone waiting for the time to elapse and I had to ask her if she would help me to clean things. I've hired a lot of cleaners in my life and our house is pretty tidy. These girls had to be the worse cleaners I have ever met as their attitude wasn't right (at least that day) and they were very disorganized.

Dreadful! Did not clean many items on the list and had to return in order to complete the job. After they left for the second visit, we discovered that our stove top was waterlogged and no longer worked. After confronting them about the matter, Maidday denied all responsibility and refused to pay for damages. Avoid this company!

NOT GOOD and NOT HONEST

I had an appointment for a deep clean. I was VERY unhappy and unsatisfied with the work that was done.
I called the manager JC and explained to her the situation. Not only did she not help resolve my issues but she asked for a lot more money so they can stay and fix the issues...

Here are SOME of the main things I noticed:
- dead spiders and spider webs as well as black mold left by all windows (that were supposedly cleaned! Which part was?!).
- the master shower was untouched (I rubbed my finger on the wall and dirt came out on my finger)
- the ladies didn't mop the washrooms or behind any door in the second floor.
- the main floor carpet which was supposedly vaccumed had crumps and other pieces on it.
- they did not wash the floors by hand (despite my request given the need and the fact that this is what was written in their pamphlet and email).
- the basement was even untouched!
- moreover, one of the ladies left a big puddle of water outside one of the bathrooms and it actually damaged the hardwood in that area!!

- although they were 3 ladies in a practically empty home (2400 sq ft max) they couldn't get the basic work done in over 3 hours!
And I worked with them personally too; (I vaccummed the second floor and all the stairs for them.) I also had to re-wash by hand all the main floor ceramic due to the poor quality of work the ladies did.

Their written guarantee is NOT TRUE: "if for any reason, you feel that our work was unsatisfactory within the time allocated Maid day will redo all the work completed by our within 48 hours of your scheduled cleaning date." NO THEY WONT!!!
They will avoid your calls and not return your emails at all cost!!

Besides that, they are unprofessional, rude and raised their voice (despite how polite you talk!!)
DO NOT HIRE MAID DAY!!

I gave them a 15 tip.. First time using their service, I moved too far for my maid to come. I always give tips. I was in a rush, I had a broken foot and a daughter waiting to be picked up. I left them to it..did some emails, they left quickly enough, couldn't really see that they did that much. The window sills were left untouched. There were still splash marks beside the toilet on the wall and by the sink..you know the water drips that you have to work at to get off? The floor boards were still dusty. I have two entrances. They left out the front, and I never use the back... THEY DUMPED ALL THEIR GARBAGE IN THE BACK!!! I got a nasty letter from my neighbour. And to top it off; my earrings are missing. I left them beside my laundry; not the best place to put them, but getting ahold of the maid who 'misplaced' them, two days later, she says 'i put them in the bathroom, hope you find them, have a great weekend, I can't talk I'm at a family function' This is Oakville..not a place you want to get a bad reputation in. I hope this company goes bankrupt from the bad service and dishonesty.

EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED. LOOK ELSEWHERE.
I contacted Maid Day to have our home thoroughly cleaned before moving in. Typically I would take on this cleaning myself however with a 5 week old infant I needed to rely on a cleaning service. When we moved in I was sorely disappointed. There were numerous OBVIOUS GAPS in CLEANING. With the house empty of furniture, I have to wonder WHAT WAS CLEANED? What we found missed:
- the floors had not been cleaned throughout, and certainly not hand washed as promised. There were obvious footprints from workers we had in days prior.
- coffee drips on the kitchen counter (easily removed by a damp cloth). Was it cleaned at all?
- dust and dirt in kitchen cabinets
- cobwebs in kitchen
- dust on window sills in all rooms and on all blinds
- dust on stair banister
- dust on top of coat hanger (the only furniture in the house)
- smudges of dirt on walls
- dust and dirt in bathroom cabinet and drawers
- dust and dirt on back of bathroom sink counter
- dust and dirt on top and exterior of toilet
- shelving on 3rd floor not dusted
- basement (included in our discussion of cleaning) was untouched. Floors not swept, window sill untouched, cobwebs not removed.

These are only the item noticeable with an easy initial inspection.

AFTER BEING CHARGED $220 WE HAD TO DO THE CLEANING I was assured would be done.

I will never have Maid day makeovers come and clean my house again. Such a terrible job and called back and JC was rude with me having no people skills and yelled at me. One of the girls was even complaing about her cheque how she is missing hrs on her cheque and also went on how she was warned from one of the girls to check her hrs cause she constantly rips off her employees..like really..what kind of a company is this??? Be warned of this Company!!

Horrible Business and Stay Clear !!!
I have been using this company for a while and not only have they ruined so many things in my home they don't care if they do or don't so be warned if you ever try to complain . You pay for a team of two girls and its a hit or miss situation. You get half the work done and never what they say they are suppose to do and 9 times out of 10 they are so lazy they do such a bad job. Sometimes you will see an empty tim hortons cup left in your driveway or a cigarette butt.. I have had my expensive hand held shower hose yanked out of the shower stall by them by just being forceful and not taking good care , a specially fitted plastic tray in the shower broken in half, been told oops the porcelain soap dish just slid off on its own to the tile floor and smashed. So much incompetence and I am warning people that if you have anything valuable that you treasure do not call them to come clean it. They used wet rags from a bucket on my antique mahogany furniture leaving white marks, left a dirty wet rag on the side oak table which i grabbed off, ruined my hardwood floors with bucket splashes of water and made such a horrible slimy film on my marble floors. Lets put it this way , if you want your house slowly destroyed then definately call this company. On November 7th,2013 I called for the cleaners. After 3 hours cleaning and only doing 2 rooms and a bathroom on the lower level they left the house without even informing me they were done. I heard a truck going down the driveway and sure enough they had left without even asking me if i was happy with the work..When i went to check I seen NOTHING done that was good , a slimy kitchen floor, microwave not cleaned, dishes in the dishwasher still there, garbage still there, dust on the glass cabinet shelving not touched, coffee table untouched , glass tables not cleaned including the kitchen table and many many more things that were so infuriating. This was their super cleaning i was being charged for 3 hours so I called JC up to complain..Was told thats strange because they are our number one girls..Exactly what did they do for 3 hours was beyond me.. I was told okay I will call you back in fifteen minutes.. No phone call came back to me.. I was ignored. I called back after 45 minutes and an answering machine came on..I left a message but was ignored and still no phone call back.. Called again later still no reply...Totally rude and unprofessional .. The next day a representative Alex called and said I will send out two girls.. The girls arrived and said we only have 20 minutes to fix things and after that you have to pay again.. YES pay again.. Why should i have to pay again for the job not well done in the first place.. What happened to all your online promises and pictures of such happy people using their services..Do not trust what you read or see on that site because I found out the hard way that what they say is NOT what they do...One of the returning team girls was so cranky and nasty and kept checking her iphone saying okay we got this amount of time left, then checking again in two minutes saying okay we got this amount of time left.. I said dont you think you should stop looking at your iphone and do something .. The other team member did 99% of the work and slaved to try to make things right.. Ended up they left and did the best they could in such a short period of time.. To make matters worse I called up the company to ask why were these girls given only 20 minutes.. I was yelled at from JC and Alex at the same time in my ear on their speakerphone saying i made all this up and my house is too big so what do i expect and on and on screaming and shouting at me and they told me i was being angry for nothing. First of all I have never given them a set time that I wanted or talk about the cost and have never discussed time or cost in the years i have tried using them. I just wanted a GOOD JOB done. Both women going bezerk shouting at me and i couldn't understand them as it was two women saying abusive things at the same time so was all a jumble .. This abuse from these women went on for a while and they wouldn't let me get a word in so i said i dont want to listen to you any longer because i paid for a service and i deserve it done properly. I asked them dont you want your customers to be happy ? I was thinking to myself is this what happens when someone complains to them? I asked them dont you think that you should fix the problem and keep your customer ? They did not care and their customer service skills were so low class and really pathetic. Greedy and hard up for money becoming the main concern over the care of their client. One of the girls in the team stood up for me saying Yes the house was done awful and she couldn't believe it.. and Yes it smelled awful after the girl from the previous day used a dirty rag on a stick to swish back and forth across my kitchen floor very slowly like a robot , going around the cat dish or anything she didnt want to bend down to move.. Swishing her dirty mop thing around the carpet at the back door.. Heaven forbid she would have to lift it up and shake it outside.. thats too much work..
Well after the one girl came back the second day to fix she said she agreed with me..She got chastised from her partner saying " never talk to the customer, you always stick up for the company and dont ever do that again. I do believe now that she is in for being fired for sticking up for the customer. All of the bad reviews on this site are 100% true and anyone who is sticking up for them must work for them or maybe its JC herself trying to save the company.. People will pass on the word..This is a very small world and word of mouth goes far..I am surprised that Mike Holmes out of all people recommends them because he is always telling people to watch out for poor workmanship and people who don't care and rip you off and turn their backs on you.. That's what this company does so shame on you Mike and shame on you Maid Day. I am thinking that they are giving Mike the supreme cleaning so he doesn't catch on with how rotten they are and giving the rest of the people a totally inexcusable job and ignoring you when you are unhappy.. Time will tell and their lack of customer support and integrity and kindness will come back to haunt them..

For all you haters out there, maybe you should have given them a list of what you wanted done. Ive never had a problem with MaidDay. I would charge double if i had to clean pee off the toilet seats and walls. Have you ever tried to clean baked on grease on your stove or walls, it aint easy, thats why I have a Maid service, but also i dont leave a total dissaster for them to clean. As a loyal customer I am deeply concered about the reviews that im reading cause I've had nothing but excellent service in the 5 yrs that I've used them, the customer service is amaizing and the cleaners do an excellent JOB!!! Also I have refered MaidDay to familly,friends and buisness owners and I have not heard anything but good reviews, also i have gotten $25 in coupons for every referal. So maybe all the bad reviews on here were just slimply people not wanting to spend the extra cash for a deep clean, maybe you huys should do it yourself!!!!

Run away as fast as you can. This company is a joke! I wish I could post pictures so I could show you the mess they left our house in. They don't bring brooms with them! Our floors in the kitchen were dirtier when they left than they were when they came in. They simply swiped the cupboard and fridge messes onto the floor and left it there. My last words to them were that they should be ashamed of themselves for charging ANYTHING for the job they did. When we complained, they were rude and nonresponsive. Please save yourself the hassle and the problems. Do not use this company!

Newer again! I cleaned my house right after cleanning service! I paid $ 155 for my house to be cleaned what they did, just wacumed the floor not even everywhere.....
