Last spring, we hired Marcon to build a rear addition and do some interior renovations to our home. The entire experience, from our first meeting with Mark to the final walk-through with Brian (Site Superintendent), was terrific. The project was completed within the estimated budget and before the given time-frame. This is a testament to Mark's experience and knowledge of his business.
Every person we dealt with throughout the project was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and respectful. Mark has built up a great group of tradespeople. He treats them well and they respect him and do top-notch work in return. We are very pleased with all the elements of our renovation.
Mark and Brian responded to my calls and emails quickly. They answered all my questions and never made me feel like I was being bothersome.
I generally don't make recommendations of products or companies to my acquaintances (for fear that something might go wrong and I would feel bad) BUT I make an exception when it comes to Marcon. I feel 100% confident in recommending this company to anyone looking for an excellent general contractor. Marcon will take care of you, and you will not be disappointed.

We engaged Marcon to do an 8x12 extension onto our kitchen. They weren't the cheapest but they appeared to be the most realistic in terms of timing. Mark came out to do the scoping and estimating and I was impressed by his experience and attention to detail. We are very pleased with the end result. The level of communication was good and most things were well explained. As a homeowner you can't think of all the things to ask and there are one or two things I would have done differently but Mark accommodated our changes efficiently. He was easy to deal with and clearly motivated to do a first class job. The work was completed on budget and the discussions on add-ons was fair. I would recommend Marcon to anyone looking extensions to their homes.

We contracted Marcon Construction in the spring of 2014 for our second story renovation in Burlington. Marcon was delayed as a result of weather but committed to their schedule with an extra crew to catch up on the schedule. The trades were all professional, respectful and friendly. We are very pleased with our renovation. Keep in mind if you want Marcon give them a lot of notice. If you are looking for a spring 2015 reno book them today and you won't regret your choice.

We had Marcon do an extension on the back and side of our house including a foundation for the new extension. The job was completed on schedule and budget. Any changes we made during the build was handled and completed in a fair manner. The trades people working for Mark all like him because he pays them on time. Happy workers do good work. I would not have any hesitation in recommending his company for any project you have in mind. Our extension looks amazing well done Marcon.

We asked Marcon to construct a 350 sq. ft. detached building fully functional( hard wired, under ground cable, gas fire place ect.) home office on our property in South Burlington.

We picked them because they did a lot of work in our neighbourhood and came highly recommended. We also went out and got 3 other quotes.
There quote was by far the best.

To watch them was a marvel. Once the schedule was set they descended on our backyard like an army
They removed all the vegetation, which was substantial, with this tiny bob-cat-like that machine. It went through our little gate, cleared the land, and filled multiple drop bins over a span of a few days.

Then the cement guys cordoned off the area, constructed a boarded boundary, prepared the base and lined up a team of workers to haul wheel barrels of cement to the drop site (Approx. 150 ft. from the road- truck) This was the foundation. They also took the time to explain the process to me. Afterward, a base insulated floor was created. The framing was completed in about a day. These guys were older, very skilled and fast.

At every stage the city building inspectors rolled through and always gave a thumbs up.

I can go on and on about this company. All the trades were incredible. The electrician and drywallers were unreal.Nice, professional and very skilled.

You get your money’s worth because they show up on time, work an entire day and don't make excuses or mistakes.

Years Later: Another Benefit

I called Marcon and asked who they would recommend to do some (land clearing) landscaping. We wanted to develop the other side of our yard. He gave me one name and I'll never forget when I asked him if he had a second company he could recommend. He said NO. In 10 years or so they had dealt with one company and had nothing but positive reviews.

We spent a lot of time house hunting and contemplating adding a second story to our bungalow. We love our neighbourhood, which does have a few other 2 story homes, and decided to contact Mark who we had known previously from other work they had done through Jenny's work.

Mark met with us right away and walked us through the process, came up with a design and a quote. It was exactly like I had always imagined the house to look. Mark was very helpful and took care of everything.

Brian and all the trades were fantastic as well. Everybody who came in to our home treated it with respect, answered questions, and worked with speed, professionalism and integrity. There were sometimes up to 7 or 8 people in our home working on different areas and they all seemed to know each other and get along. It made for a really fun and relaxing atmosphere that didn't interfere with our daily life in any way. Any questions or worries we might have had were answered almost right away.

Marcon Construction went above and beyond what they had to do with our project. The guys had some great ideas on how to make a few little areas of our house look better or more functional during the process and offered advice and even a little help.

The best way we can describe this project and Marcon was an example of what happened on a Sunday evening when we had no roof and only a tarp. There was a big storm coming in and one of the workers showed up by himself, grabbed a ladder and went up on the roof around 9 pm to make sure the tarp was secured and then came back at 11 pm to make sure it was still okay. We hadn't phoned to ask for anything or even thought about it, they just did this on their own.

This is the type of company any prospective customer will be dealing with. We highly recommend Mark, Brian and all of their crews.

After meeting with several contactors we decided to choose Marcon to build a two storey addition to the side of our house. Mark was very professional and detailed all parts of the job in writing and with drawings. His team displayed tremendous work ethic, and often gave well thought of advise to small details and changes which we have come to appreciate. When it came to making upgrades such as a porch overhange, and stonework, we were charged a fair price for the upgrades. His contractors were extremely polite and courteous, always keeping us informed of the scope of their work. The electrician (Gary) was one in a million. we have refered many people to Marcon, and we would encourage anyone looking for an honest and hardworking group of individuals to chose Mark and his team.

I'm wondering which Marcon the folks who gave the low ratings dealt with? My job was completed almost 2 years ago and I love it as much today as I did them - Marcon was recommended to me by friends who'd used them on other homes and I never once regretted my decision. I am a single woman and any of the crew that worked on my job was polite, professional and trustworthy. I'm getting ready to do my exterior soon and I wouldn't hesitate to use them. I would say they aren't the cheapest, but they certainly aren't the most expensive, you get good value for your money - there were NO surprises with my final bill - you can't expect to renovate a 100 year old house and not uncover some problems - anyone doing a reno should know that!

We used Marcon Construction to have a storage/garage built onto the side of our century home as well as to renovate the entire ground floor of the home. Marcon's crew was very friendly, professional and knowledgable and kept the pace of the project moving to get it done on time and on budget.
We were so pleased with the end result of our home addition/renovation that we hired Marcon Construction again to build an addition onto our commercial building on Brant Street downtown Burlington. Once again, everything turned out great! Most importantly, as with any project, we had questions throughout our projects and our calls to Marcon's office were always quickly returned. We hired Marcon Construction to complete a fairly extensive main floor renovation in our house. The work included gutting the old kitchen to the studs, removing walls and portions of walls, creating two new doorways, laying new floors throughout (new tile and refinishing existing hardwood), gutting and rebuilding a powder room, major electrical work, plumbing and HVAC upgrades, and refinishing an existing staircase, including a new banister, newel posts and balusters. We hired a separate kitchen contractor to build the kitchen cabinetry, so Marcon was further tasked with project managing the entire affair.

From the start Mark was awesome to work with, patient to answer our many questions and consistently providing prompt, accurate answers. The project started a bit late yet finished on time, and right on budget. Brian, Murray and the rest of the Marcon crew were also fantastic to work with, treating our house as if it were their own, always wrapping up the day by taking time to clean up, and being entirely considerate of our needs and those of our pets. The trades - HVAC, plumbing, drywallers, the trim guy, Maurice the hardwood guy, Bert and Brad with the tiles, and especially Gary and Nick the electricians, were all really great.

We're absolutely delighted with the end result - to the point we have already begun speaking with Mark about some additional work on our home this fall. Marcon's professionalism and quality of workmanship really are over the top. Highly recommended.
