Pratt Homes

I recently bought a new home in Innisfil. I've recently relocated from Mississauga and could not be happier. Innisfil is a small and friendly area with lots of shops nearby. The sales staff at Pratt Homes were friendly and accomodating. I wanted to modify the design of my new home and they did it willingly and even offered some amazing suggestions to make my new home even better! The designer was so accomodating! My first home purchase has been such a positive experience.

i bought a pratt home...took 2 weeks off to move in....watch the next house being built 12 oclock workers drinking beer...my house built wrong.....im a builder.....non-supporting walls with 2x6 walls and supporting walls with 2x4......poor workmenship....dont buy a pratt home

We purchased a resale of a Pratt home, the house is falling apart - very poor workmanship.

A good friend of my family is a professional renovator and went through my house for giggles over the weekend pointing out all the mistakes and errors. The walls only had one coat of paint, the seems are bursting in the dry wall, if you flush the toilet the sink water goes blazing hot (pipes not separated).. the cielings sag and twist (looks horrendous in the wrong light even though its stucco'd). Some of our walls are splitting (poor workmanship when taping the drywall).

However, the worst part of my first home is the fact that every single window in the house leads cold air in the winter. I'm not talking a little bit drafty... you can stand 3 or 4 feet from the window and feel very cold air.

Would I recommend Pratt? Yes, but only to my worst enemy.

I have purchased a Pratt Home. I found it interesting that many people expect sooo much from their builder- talking to neighbours some that bought from Pratt and some that bought from other builders- generally the expectations are very unrealistic of what the builders supposed to do or fix in their home. I hate to be the devils advocate but I often hear good things about Pratt but I have to defend all builders including Pratt.

Maybe I'm alone on this one-but shouldn't one research the builder and the warrenty before buying one of the biggest investments of their life? Maybe a customer complaining about the features in the home should have asked what the features are before buying??? - why can't people be responsible for their own choices.

After we moved in, we found the workmanship to be of poor quality especially the flooring which is carpet and laminate. The follow up on our complaints took from several weeks to several months. They always tried to make the problem something we created nothing to do with them.
