Kitchen renovation

My wife and I moved north to Canada recently and remodeled a kitchen in our new home here. We purchased a dishwasher from Appliance Canada and to our dismay, the sales person failed to tell us the dishwasher lacks a heating element. We now have a Bosch dishwasher that does not dry dishes, even after 7hrs. The sales person suggests we should ask Bosch to come look at this contraption, and has twice stalled my request to return the appliances.

As of today, they did the right thing and accepted the Bosch dishwasher. We have upgraded for $200 to a very fine kitchen aid dishwasher with both a garberator (food chopper) and heating element, with digital display on the front indicating how far along the wash cycle it is. We are absolutely in love with this new appliance and would definitely recommend anyone considering to look the models over, go home and do your research on the internet, and come back to get a fair price from these guys. Their price was fair compared to other prices we searched on Internet and locally.

Kitchen Renovation

I did a major kitchen renovation recently and used Appliance Canada to purchase all my appliances. I spent over $30,000 and from start to finish Appliance Canada was easy to deal with, they had the best price, called the day before delivery to confirm all the appliances and the delivery men were super nice! Their showroom is the nicest I have seen in the city and has everything you need under one roof...even TV's! I would recommend Appliance Canada to everyone..go see Derek Zaretsky...he was great!

Stove

I bought a Jenn-Air Downdraft range from Appliance Canada and have had nothing but headaches along the way dealing with this company. When I bought the appliance I was assured it would be delivered within a week's time, a week came and went with no call and no stove. To make a long story short, it took over a month for the appliance to actually arrive. Customer Service was terrible, the manager of customer service (Joanne) never ONCE answered her phone - and there were upwards of 15-20 calls made. Responses were infrequent and late and always unsatisfactory. It actually took calling the front desk and having the poor receptionist literally find this Joanne to get her to call us back to tell us when we could expect our stove.
I finally contacted the VP of sales and things moved from that point forward.
I would not recommend dealing with this company. It is the worst case of customer service I have ever had.

kitchen renovation - appliances

We purchased appliances here. We had trouble with Appliance Canada in our area and called Harley the owner. He talked with us, he didn't put us off to a salesperson until he solved the problem for us. He made sure the salesperson looked after us well. The delivery people and telephone staff were courteous and polite.

Fridge, Stove, Washer and Dryer

When I purchased my house I got a basic washer, dryer, fridge and stove offered to me from Appliance Canada. I obviously wanted to upgrade from the basic white models to something stainless steel. I upgraded my dryer (which on delivery day came off the truck dented, so I was offered a $100 discount or a new dryer - needless to say I got them to deliver a new dryer the next day), stove, and fridge. I found that they gave me a bare minimum on what my basic appliances were worth, and ended up paying an extra $1200 for the fridge, and an extra $600 for the stove and dryer combined.

The service was friendly, and I installed everything myself as it was fairly easy to do. The only bad part was that 3 weeks after I purchased my stove the drawer holders for the under-over drawer broke and I cannot find the replacements anywhere, needless to say i cannot use that drawer.

Appliance Purchase

My wife and I purchased all of our appliances for our new home here. Kitchen Aid Fridge, Stove, and Dishwasher, as well as a Whirlpool washer and dryer, we saved well over $4000 from what the other retail distributers were selling them for. We got free delivery and set up. I would recommend that everyone goes here for appliances!

Zephyr hood for stove

I bought a fancy looking and costly hood for my stove and everything was alright until both halogen light bulbs burned out.I thought no big deal...these things happen and I'll just change them.Imagine my surprise when I looked everywhere to buy them and there are nowhere to be found in stores in Canada.I managed to read the model number on the light bulbs and found out that they are "European base halogen lamp model number JDR-C E27"... whatever that means... and they are hard to find.I found some on E-Bay at 16$ a pair and guess what they don't work on the hood which by the way it's not broken. The electrician confirmed that the hood is ok.
You think the salesman might have mention this "little" detail before he sold it to me? What need do I have for such a thing when I can't even buy light bulbs for it in this country?
I'm angry and disappointed and I'm stuck with a hood which has no lights.

$500.00

Whirlpool Washer & Dryer - front end loading

A close friend of mine recommended that I go their and meet with his friend, Craig. Very informative, not pushy, and the best price in the GTA. And I have been looking at same models at other vendors ever since we bought our in July 2007. Delivery guys were very careful and even took away our old broken appliances. Don't I will ever go any where else. And neither should you - check it out!

Ask lots of questions. As not all items are the same. We had read reviews on the internet...And the salesman provided us with additional information that changed our choice of manufacturer. i.e. they knew which brands were made by who...

Mainfloor remodling

I purchased a Jenn-Air slide in stove from Appliance Canada. They delivered it to my house in mid August. When the delivery people dropped of the stove (Saturday) there were some marks on the cook top that the driver from appliance Canada said it was tape marks and I was assured by the driver that it will come off. My wife tried to clean the stove top with some stainless steel cleaner and the brown mark did not come off. When my wife phoned Appliance Canada they said that they would not pick it back up and that I need to call Jenn-Air for they had a 5 or 7 day deficiency program. We did this on the following Monday and an appointment was made with Home Appliance, a company that I guess Whirlpool deals with for repairs to their products. Two weeks later I was told that they needed to replace my cook top for they could not remove the stain or discolouration, I should have phoned Appliance Canada then but I was tring to go along with Appliance Canada’s process. We said fine. Two weeks after that Home Appliance had me stay home off work for a whole day, called me a 4:00pm to tell me that they could not make the appointment. (I was not happy). Another appointment was made two weeks after that for after 3:30pm. The technician arrived at 4:30pm and the top that came from Whirlpool was all scratched, so again another appointment had to be made. 6 weeks had pass by then so I had enough. So I called Appliance Canada and told them what was happening. I tried to be patient but I came to the conclusion that my wife and I purchased a new range but the top has to be replaced so in fact it is not a new stove anymore, I should have been more hard nosed with the driver but I did not have a stove for one week and I did not want to wait another 4 to six weeks for a replacement. Now they have to come in my house to replace this part, and potentially damage the range even more and or damage my wood floors that we have in the kitchen, so I went to the service Manager of Appliance Canada who informed me that they will not do anything because it has been 6 weeks and that I should have returned it when they delivered it. I explained to her that I mentioned this to the driver and the driver assured me that the mark would come off, what was I to so, take the driver for his word or send it back and not have a stove. I was trying not to be a big complainer and hard nosed so I took the driver at his word and signed the release form. The service Manager told me that they will not do anything and that I need to call Whirlpool. I phone Whirlpool and they told me that they can not do anything and that I need to call Appliance Canada back. Today I had a appointment with Home Appliance to come out and replace my cook top. I phoned them @ 8:30am and informed the lady that answered the phone if the technician can give me a call because I was on shift and had to leave by 11:00am. I was told that she would let the technician know on the paper work to give me a call and that usually the do all their calling between 8:30am and 10:00am. 10:25am my wife phones the company and found out that the technician hasn’t left the building yet and that he would not be able to make there by 11:00pm. It has now been scheduled for 6:00pm tonight where now my wife has to order dinner and eat it along with my 4 year old daughter with a strange man in the house. Basically I am writing this review to inform purchasers that they should be hard nosed and do not sign any documents from Appliance Canada until you have cleaned and checked the whole appliance that you have bought. I guess that is what I should have done but I took Appliance Canada for their word and they let me down. I would think twice in purchasing any appliances from this company, they go out of their way to please you before they receive the money and after that they could care less about you. This is a big company and I know that anything I say will not do anything but I can assure you, my wife and I need to purchase a Fridge and dishwasher next year and I will not be going back to Appliance Canada. This will not hurt their bottom line, but it will make me feel better.
Again Buyer be ware.
