Frigidaire OTR Microwave

I am writing to you about my extreme disappointment in both products and service at Goeman's.Appliances Here is my story and I warn everyone about shopping at Goeman's Appliances

On August 23 2014 - I purchased an OTR Electrolux microwave at the clearance centre from the KW Goemans store. I was very excited to get this product and was looking forward to using it. We waited one week while it was shipped to the KW store - and then waited another week because it was missing a back plate (to hang the microwave). My husband picked up our product on Sept 6/14 and brought it home. Well it turns out the back plate was for a GE microwave and we had an Electrolux and none of the components aligned so that we could use this back plate to hang our microwave. So we called immediately and the store ordered another back plate. We waited weeks for this back plate to come in. But it never arrived. On Thursday Sept 18 the salesman was very apologetic and suggested that he would exchange the product for a different product. This time we got a Frigidaire professional Microwave. We installed the product on Sunday September 21/14. When I opened the box the back plate was bent and twisted. We called the store immediately and the salesman told us to just to bend it back. So while the back plate was warped we bent it back because we were so desperate and were so happy to finally have a microwave (as we have now gone more than a month without one) and we put food in the microwave and unbelievably the microwave does not work, it does not heat. I could not believe it, we were traded for a broken product. So we called the salesman immediately but he told my husband he could not do a refund today (Sunday) as the store manager was not in and that we would have to bring it back tomorrow, which is now today Monday Sept 22/14.

So around 12 pm today - I receive a call from a nice girl in customer service who wants to arrange for a repair man to come fix my microwave. I must admit I was not happy at all. A repairman for a microwave I never used? I was sold a completely defective product and now I am being forced to repair and keep it? I never used it. I want to return the product. The lady on the phone informed me that was not possible. I was confused and upset. I cannot understand how I can be sold a product that is broken and told I will have to keep it and get it fixed. This is terrible customer service. I asked her to please have her supervisor call me or the store manager and it took 2.5 hours for the store manager to call back. When the store manager called he told me they would not take the product back it has to be repaired. It does not matter the product is broken and NEVER worked they will not take it back.

Imagine how you would feel, I had my husband buy from Goeman's as I believed they were one of the best appliance retailers around. I did not want to buy from another store that's first priority was not appliances, I sincerely regret that decision now. I know the other stores would have taken back a broken appliance that I never got to use.

I just wanted this resolved - I just want a new microwave that works and I am in a fight to get a new working microwave from Goemans.. Had I known I would have this kind of treatment I never would have bought a product from Goeman's Appliances. It truly is buyer beware. Never buy there! They will not honour their product.

New home appliance delivery

purchased a waher and dryer and paid for delivery Delivery guys also hooked up washer and dryer The steam device on dryer was not hooked up and I was unaware till recently I informed Geoman's and they refuse to make it right because too much time has passed 1 year. I was not aware that this was not installed and I refuse to pay again to make it right They should have informed me at the time of installation that they were not setting up the steam system According to their Mission Statement Geoman's prides itself on great customer service. I disagree whole heartedly.

Microwave under 4 year Warrantee

The manager at the Burlington store went to bat for me, understands that this wasn't a "usual case" the microwave showed it was faulty within a month of purchasing it (and needed a $200.00 service under warrantee), and now 1.5 years after purchase it needs servicing again to more than what the microwave is worth! After much frustration the replacement will be delivered, and installed NO CHARGE. I don't disagree with delivery charges, and paid my delivery charge for my refrigerator and microwave just 1.5 years ago, but but this is a replacement microwave, already installed over the range, only 1.5 years old, under full warrantee for 4 years, and this is a REPLACEMENT. It should be replace, no charge. I'm satisfied that Tom in Burlington (the Manager), and other Manager's agreed with him. It's being done no charge. Their Mission statement is to build and keep their clients through customer service, and where is the customer service, if all they do is take your money. What I'm getting now, is indeed GOOD CUSTOMER Service, but boy I got it from the Manager, NOT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. I even asked to speak to the manager of the customer service department, and she said (Terry) said she was the Manager. They won't be keeping good customer's if they come in contact with her!! They need to revisit the meaning of their own Mission Statement, which is:
"Building loyal relationships with our customers within the community since 1978. Goemans has an uncompromising commitment to provide superior value and service throughout the purchasing experience”. Be willing to live up to it, or change the Mission Statement! A "loyal" customer. Thank you Tom for resolving my problem. I am now very satisfied.

Majestic Fireplace

Upgraded fireplace 6 months ago and it still doesn't work. Small child is confined to play in a 6x8 space for the last 2 months because of it. 3 calls, 2 emails and 1 store visit and $4500 later....Shame on you Goemans for taking your customers for granted.

Brutal customer service

Salespeople are great, showroom is fantastic, but the true measure of a good relationship is when it goes bad. Goemans customer service is horrible. Customer service manager will not return my calls. Since they do not have their own in house service people and contract it out to third parties, they download all the service issues to others. They just don't take any responsibility for their or their contractors screw ups. It will be almost two weeks for us to have someone here to look at our washing machine. Will probably then say they need to order a part. Try going 2 weeks without doing the laundry. Note to everyone. You get what you pay for. If you have to pay a little bit more, only buy an appliance from a company that have their own serviceman. Geomans will never see another penny from me or anyone else I can tell.

Purchased fridge, stove dishwasher and microwave

I did alot of shopping around before I came to Goemans. Their prices are competitive but what got me was the excellent service! I have had issues in warranty with two appliances but that is not their fault. They have been so helpful and careing with me. They have my business for life!

fireplace

I went back to Goemans earlier this year since I got excellent service when I bought my dishwasher. I put $ 500 down for a preliminary inspection. The person that called me was very rude and I asked to be service by somebody else. When I was ready for the person to come (I was away for a few weeks) it took 4 emails for somebody to contact me. I was available between 10 and 2 and we settled for 1.30. He called at 11.45 to tell me he could only come at 3 or in the evening. Obviously that did not work for me. I told him to call me when he has time. Never heard back. At the same time I called their service centre . One person never called back, the other one was not very nice and when we asked for her manager shee said she did not have one. (???) I then sent emails to every manager I could find (on their website) and to Tony Goemans (owner). That was over a week ago, nobody responded. I put a message on their FB page, they responded, and so did I. Right after that my comments were deleted and they blocked me from their site. I could easily repost everything over again (different name, very easily done) since I have copies of the communications, but life is too short. All I wanted was for them to make things right. I was not about to go anywhere else since I really liked what I had chosen. The salesperson refunded the $ 500 happily, I think they were glad to get rid of us. And he knows we are in the market for a subzero fridge ( about 12 K).....Talk about throwing good money after bad money. The one thing that bothers me the most is that I have to start my search all over again......

Refrigerator

My husband and I purchased an LG Fridge from Goemans back in mid-April. The following is a list of issues we've had since then:

- Their delivery people said the delivery would be between 10am-2pm. At 2:45pm they advised me that they were lost. At 3:45 they arrived.
- The fridge they delivered was dented, so we refused delivery
- They promised to have a new fridge in stock in 5-7 days
- After 15 days we had received no phone call about our fridge
- After polite messages and 2 upset phone calls and a promise to tell everyone we know not to shop at Goeman's, they tell us our fridge will be in stock in a mere 3 extra days and we will get our delivery charge refunded. They also promised to call us as soon as the fridge arrives in their warehouse which they swear will be on Tuesday.
- Tuesday arrives without a phone call, so we call them and they tell us that they only got half the order so our fridge will be in on Wednesday. They promise once again to call us today (Wednesday) to arrange delivery.

Needless to say, we are not optimistic about getting a fridge this week. It's been over 2 months now.

Their customer service department has continually passed us off to their delivery department, and neither of them have been very enthusiastic about making this a good experience for us. We should have gone with Sears who had the better price in the first place, but we wanted to support local businesses. Never again.

warrenty issue on washing machine

We puchased a Ge front load washing machining from Goeman about 3 years . Fortunately we purchased the extend warranty with the machine since concrete lining started to come out during the wash, which cause the machine to walk all over the floor. The serviceman looked at under warranty and it was determined that it needed to replaced under warranty. Goeman did replace the wash machine however to our surprize and disapproval they would only replace it with a machine that was of less value without the same the same features that our old machine had. They did have a model with the same features, but than they want to charge me extra to get the better model. Whenever buying a warranty on a product make sure they will replace the product with equal or better. Since having written this review I contact the store manager about the situation directly and discover that he was not informed about the situation properly. He gave us a store credit because we had not used the replacement machine and than we could choose another machine they were selling, this made us much happier since we finally got machine with features close to our old one. Goeman's service department for customer service still gets a bad review, however the store on King st in Kitchener I would recommended and if not happy with the service department contact the store manager politely and he may be able to help if you are reasonable.

Purchased 2 complete sets of appliances for 2 homes in 2 years.

Be very careful if dealing with Goemans in Miss or Kit. All is great until you have problems. I've been waiting 6 months for screws to complete installation on dish warmer (which I paid them to install). Fridge water line bent. No water, no ice. Took them weeks to resolve problem. Then ice clumped in freezer told by service it was a design flaw. Reported to Goemans and their customer service. STILL NO REPLY FROM ANYONE. I have redirected 3 families to Tasco appliances so far. I do NOT recommend anyone deal with Goemans if you expect even minimal customer service from them. I've learned an expensive lesson.
