I always wait a few days to write a review to ensure that the experience after the installation is as good as before. So far, it is!
Russ responded immediately to my original enquiry and set up a meeting with him and his son Andrew to present a proposal on a new furnace and AC to replace our 17 year old equipment. I already had quotes from other suppliers so knew the general cost range of the equipment.
Our existing units were still functioning but did not keep our home uniformly heated or cooled. To run the AC motor fan 24/7 was expensive and even then it did not even out the temperature satisfactorily. Russ recommended a new Goodman furnace and AC unit, provided answers to my many questions and left us with a quote which was below others we had received. There was no pressure at any time.
I spent a couple of days online, checking out the equipment against other manufacturers and convinced myself of the quality of Goodman based on owner testimonials and expert reviews. In addition to the quality of the equipment and the fair price, I was impressed with the testimonials on Bow as a contractor. Contractor quality was mentioned most frequently as a source of satisfaction or dissatisfaction with new equipment installations regardless of manufacturer.
Russ and Andrew removed the old furnace and AC, made modifications to bring the system up to current standards and installed the new equipment in approximately 8 hours. They were quiet, efficient and tidy.
With the wide swing weather of the past 2 weeks, we have had a chance to operate both the furnace and AC. Both have operated flawlessly, quietly and most importantly, have provided even temperatures throughout our home. We run the low speed setting DC motor 24/7. With a 10 year parts and labour warranty on both furnace and AC, we feel we have made a good decision with good products and an excellent contractor.
We will provide another review after a few months of gas and electrical bills as well as if we ever have the need to take advantage of the parts and labour warranty.
