ALMAC Landscaping over the last 20 years.
20 years ago we had ALMAC do a major landscape for us. With Als creativity we put together a detail plan and scope of work. For our budgeting purposes we planed to do the work over three years. We started with the back yard which included building a cedar fence, a paving stone patio, a large arbor, and an intricate outline to separate the grass area from the plants area.
The second year we did the front yard. We had paving stones linking the back yard to the front yard. we had a intricate flower beds built, and we reseeded the front lawn.
The third year we completed the work with the side yard. Our house was on a double lot, so we had a lot of area to cover. We had purchased all the paving stones in the first year to make sure the paving stones would come from the same batch and would match. So the remaining paving stones were mainly the small pavers, and I did not know how this would work and how the finished product would look like. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the final works. Als men are true artists, they produced a incredible design of curves weaving in and out.
Important points to mention:
We had the same crew every year, Al must take good care of his people.
The quality of the work was excellent. After 20 years the paving stones look as good as ever, obviously preparation of the surface the stone sit on is very important. the cedar fence has stood the test of time. All weve had to do was restrain it every two or three years.
And in the end there were no cost surprises.

In September 2022 we moved into a a newer home, and again we contacted ALMAC to re landscape our property to best fit our needs. Again we discussed the overall property, the front yard and the back yard. And again we phased the work over two years for our budgeting purposes. Last year we had paving stones installed on both sides of the concrete driveway plus we had the front flower beds re designed to our liking. Plus we had ALMAC install a prefabricated 8 x 12 tool shed in the back yard. Again we benefited from Als experience, Al strongly recommend we not install the wood floor that comes with the tool shed as it would rot over time. Instead ALMAC prepared the floor area with a solid base to receive paving stones.
This year ALMAC is coming back to install paving stones in the back yard. My wife and I have decided we want a low maintenance property. And again Al came up with a rough sketch to add an extra touch and pop by adding some intricate flower beds.
Weve been extremely pleased with the Work ALMAC has done for us in the last 20+ years.

Last summer we called Allan at Almac to finish up a three part project in our yard. From our two previous jobs he completed we knew it would blend with the new. The crew are fantastic, work very well together and so efficient. We liked that if they saw something that needed to be done that we hadnt noticed they alerted us and fixed it right away. We would highly recommend Alan and his crew to anyone without hesitation. We have also had so many compliments on all the work and wanting to know who did the job.

We made our choice based on reputation and demonstrated excellence. The crew were effective, considerate, and clearly motivated to do their very best. The preparation for the stonework was meticulous and the results excellent. Similarly, the ground was correctly prepared for the new sod and the lawn looks great. We have recommended AlMac to all our friends and neighbours.

My husband and I have wanted to complete landscaping for the last several years. Well, going through the last year of the COVID-19 pandemic was the reason for finally making that decision. After not being able to see family and friends for so long, we now look forward to hosting them! We couldn’t have done it without Almac Landscapes Ltd. though. Alan and the team were excellent to work with and we would highly recommend them. From initial consultation, to design, and build, we appreciated their professionalism, thoughtfulness to details, and efficiency. We received many comments from our neighbours about how fast, courteous, and professional they were too. To recap, we had both the front and backyard landscaping completed. The whole project was done in 2 weeks! This was by far the largest project we’ve done with our home and we’re so pleased we trusted Alan and Almac Landscapes Ltd. with the end results. Our family and friends stop by often to relax in the backyard with us. Grateful we’ve been able to enjoy it this summer already!

A number of years ago we had Almac build a semicircular paving stone patio in our back yard. We have been very happy with it but, after several whole family gatherings during the pandemic, decided a larger patio would make the back yard more enjoyable and useful. We wanted to be sure that any extension matched both the quality and the design of the original so we turned to Almac again. Allan came out a couple of times to help us decide on the size of patio we wanted and what it might look like. He assured us that they would be able to blend the new extension with the existing patio so we decided to go ahead with the project. The crew arrived half a day early and after checking with us to make sure we were in agreement with the outline of the new patio, got right to work. Every man seemed to know his job and within a few hours they had removed the sod and soil. They worked really efficiently and were done in a couple of days. Allan checked in with us each day to let us know what was planned and to make sure we had no concerns. The crew cleaned up each day and, when the job was done, the area was spotless. The pattern of the new patio extension blends right into the older patio. In fact, the whole patio looks like a single project rather than two projects separated by about five years. Although we expected the best from Almac, we were again impressed with their efficiency and attention to detail. Allan, Dennis and the crew were also very pleasant to deal with in every way. We highly recommend Almac and will certainly use this company again if we have another project!

We previously had some work done by Almac in 2011and still receive compliments on the job completed, so when we were looking for further work to be done we had no hesitation in contacting Almac again for our brick patio job. The crew of Adam, Dennis and Sam were fantastic and the job was completed ahead of schedule and looks great. The workers were always on time, friendly and all work very well together. They also addressed a couple of other small issues for us as well. Extremely professional.

After completing a fully satisfactory transformation of our front yard last year, Al and his team finished the back yard this year based on the drawings that Al had prepared. We are thrilled with the care and precision used to fix some tricky grades and lay Classico pavers for the patio and walks. The crew was was amazing and we couldn't be happier with the result - on time and on budget.

Almac starts the job on time, works efficiently and finishes promptly. Dennis, Conor and Isaac did the work and they were a pleasure to have at our home. Alan goes above and beyond what is expected by helping with other small problems on our property.

We had Almac come and repair our stone driveway that had slumped at the entrance to the garage. We also added onto an existing stone patio. The work was complicated by locating stone to match the existing material. Almac knew their stone and did a very close match. The crew that came and did the work in a professional manner, worked quickly and left our yard clean.
We are very please with the job done and would highly recommend Almac if you need stone work done. We will be using them on our future projects involving stonework.

We first worked with Almac Landscapes over 10 years ago when we wanted to not only improve the look of the older house we’d moved into, but also to solve a number of problems the lot presented. After discussions with several firms, Almac stood out as the only one that we felt both fully understood the problems and offered solid yet straightforward solutions to them. Alan’s engineering background and surveying skills gave us a great deal of confidence.

We were and still are extremely happy with the work they did then – their expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to high quality work resulted in long-lasting and elegant solutions to our tricky problems.

So, when we needed some expert advice after an uncharacteristically heavy downpour in June led to water in our basement (and many, many others in the neighbourhood), we, of course, turned to Almac.

Alan came out immediately to evaluate the situation and offer ideas for improving the grading (where some areas had heaved and others sunk over the years) and for channelling water safely past a spot where our neighbour’s house is both close to and lower than ours (as we wanted to move water away from our house, without moving it across the property line to theirs). It was a real relief to have a trusted expert to advise us after a stressful event, and we are so grateful for the time and attention he gave us, as his schedule was no doubt already fully booked!

During all our discussions, Alan made every effort to come up with a plan that would balance his desire to keep our costs down with our desire to have every conceivable protection against flooding in place. We are, again, very happy with the results.

When the work crew arrived, we were impressed by how many of them we recognized from over 10 years ago – it is so reassuring to have that level of experience at work! They are a great crew, extremely professional, a real pleasure to have around, and they always had time and patience for our questions, curiosity and requests for clarification as the work proceeded.

The result is beautiful, neat, and functional. Thank you all so much for coming to our rescue!
