Ontario Shake N'tile

If I was writing a review in 2006 I would give this company a 10 rating. They installed a beautiful roof and we have no complaints on the roof itself. HOWEVER, we had snow guards installed at that time which were plastic and have all broken. Huge mounds of snow and ice come shooting off our roof and land on our walkway. If anyone would happen to be on that walkway, they could experience serious injury. Since April 20th, I have contacted this company at least six times by phone, e-mail, through Facebook and their website to get the snow guards replaced. It is now October 12th and I have yet to receive a single call back. Extremely poor customer service considering the considerable amount of money they made from our roof. Six months is not an acceptable time to wait for a response. Are they even still in business? Their BBB Accreditation has been revoked, so beware.

We hired Ontario Shake n'Tile to replace our flat roof. The roof and workmanship came with a life time warranty. In 2019, we called the office a number of times due to a significant leak and were met with no response. We had previously called over a number of years to have the team come in and fix various leaks.

In 2019, there was some significant drywall damage which needed to be replaced. When the drywall was taken off the ceiling, there was significant structural damage uncovered from years of the roof leaking. And for those in the know, insurance companies do not cover this type of damage - our insurers, RSA, refused to provide any coverage for the structural damage. Needless to say, the lack of proper material and poor workmanship by Ontario Shake n'Tile created a major restructure project for us that costs in excess of $100K - new roof along was $60K and then there were 4 structural beams that had to be replaced in the ceiling along with the portions of the north wall of the house needed to be removed and replaced.

Overall, a very poor experience.

In 2015, we contracted Ontario Shake N' Tile to install KasselShake tiles on our home after they had done a great job installing the same product on our garage the year before. The installation experience was challenging (not what we had experienced with the garage installation) and it left us feeling like the company did not care about how much of our hard-earned dollars we had given them to provide a roof for our home.
Since then, we have noticed that water is getting behind one of the walls and making its way onto our foundation. We are worried this has been happening since installation. Our siding is comprised of stucco and cedar and we have been up and down this wall sealing every joint and anything that even remotely resembles a pathway for water. We have asked Ontario Shake N' Tile to come and have a look to see if there is an issue with the installation, but they have refused claiming it is a maintenance issue. We are not sure how they are able to make that assessment without looking at the house. We are stuck as we don't have the time to take it apart ourselves to verify and we desperately want a resolution. Jeremy, I hope you read this and provide some assistance. We have spent a lot of money with your company and we are feeling like that is all you wanted. The customer service experience needs to be better.

Our Copper Penny roof turned out spectacular, we have received so many compliments on its beauty and style. We have finally been home when it rained and there was very little noise during a down pour. No tinny pings echoing from each rain drop like our neighbors metal roof. It is such a pleasure to be able to sit outside and enjoy the rain in peace and quiet.

Had a flat roof installed on a residential property. So many leaks and have been constantly calling them to repair the roof - they are not returning our calls at all!!!

It simply doesn't get any better...from the initial conference to the end of the job we were treated very well. Robert and Mary Lou were well versed in the product and shared with us the benefits of Shake 'n Tile roofs. They took much time to explain to myself and our son as we live in side-by-side residences. They then returned to give my husband the information. They were exceptionally helpful in assisting with financing. Once the decision was made to go ahead we were given a tentative date. As that date approached I contacted Robert to see if there was a firm date. Within 24 hours we received a call from Kim at Shake 'n Tile to explain that materials were in short supply due to an overwhelming response to having roofs completed this summer. She assured me that we would be notified as soon as the materials became available. In very short order the supplies arrived and within days the roof was completed. The gentlemen doing the job were cordial and answered any questions I had. They ensured that there was zero debris left after the job. They started our semi-detached homes at about 7:30 and were completed and gone by 1:00. I cannot say enough about how pleased we are with the whole process and I would strongly recommend this company to anyone.

We are very happy with our choice to go with Ontario Shake N'Tile. We love the product. And the installers did an excellent job! Everyone was professional. Thanks a bunch!

We chose Ontario Shake N’Tile after carefully reviewing quotes from different metal roof installers. Ryan was the salesperson with whom we dealed and he was always courteous and willing to answer my (many) questions. As we will be installing solar panels on our new roof, Ryan even had someone from the Kassell and Irons (the company that made the roof) contact me to assure me that the solar installation would not void our product warranty.

The contract was signed October 17 with an estimated date of installation of the week of November 13. So I was surprised when I received a text on October 27 saying that the materials would be delivered on that day. Nobody was home during the delivery. I quickly contacted Ryan who confirmed the materials were blocking our car. He had someone come later that day to move the materials to the side of the house. At that point, they were hoping to install on October 30 but heavy rains delayed that to the end of that week. More rain meant more delays and installation finally happened on November 8.

The crew was in and out in 4-5 hours. My husband interacted with them when he came home from work but I never saw anyone as they were in and out so quickly. The crew kept our yard clean, except for a cutting tool which we found a few days later. Note that we chose to keep the old roof shingles below our new roof.

A few days after installation, we noticed a dip in a part of the roof. We contacted Ontario Shake N’Tile and were assured this would be fixed the next time their crew would be in town. Apparently this wasn’t possible in November and December and we are now scheduled for a service call in March.

We will be installing solar panels later this year. An employee from Ontario Shake N’Tile will be on site when holes are made into the roof for the racking. I will update my review at that point.

Overall, I am satisfied with the interactions I have had with Ontario Shake N’Tile and recommend this company.

The work was amazing....the men were very professional and
courteous we love the new roof. They left the yard and surrounding
area the way they found it,we would highly recommend these installers
and this roof... and roofing company.

Ontario Shake N’ Tile Mississauga team are very skilled at their profession, from Adam, the sales representative to Nick and Walter,the installation crew. The finish of our great looking new metal roof speaks for itself. They started on time and worked hard until the job was done and the clean-up finished. All items that were discussed and listed on the contract were completed. They are a respectful and diligent team, with great work ethics and we would highly recommend. They are perfectionists!
