Atel Air Heating & Air Conditioning

We had Atel Air install a new Daikin Heat Pump and could not be happier with the professional service we received from the advisor to the technicians that installed the equipment. It was a pleasure dealing with a family run company. We will be doing annual service with them.

Friday morning, January 27, Kevin from Atel Air came at 9:30 a.m. to perform an annual inspection of the two furnaces in service at this residence. He and Greg, another expert from Atel, reported that there was a problem and that one the furnaces, that had been installed in 1993, was leaking carbon monoxide. By Friday afternoon, they had a new furnace there to replace the ailing furnace and advised that the new furnace would be completely installed by noon, Saturday 28. Another ATEL expert, Matt, arrived at 8:30 Saturday morning and before noon, he had completed all the necessary work - beautiful! I was completely impressed by the expertise and professionalism displayed by the representatives of ATEL - truly impressive! Many thanks to all of you!

We recently had a new furnace installed by Atel Air. Work was done quickly and efficiently. We have had a maintenance contract with them for about 20 years and always have been satisfied with all the work that has been done by them.

We had Atel Air Heating and Air Conditioning install a Mitsubishi Zuba Cold climate Heat Pump and Hot Water tank. We were replacing an oil fired furnace and hot water tank with the much more efficient Mitsubishi Zuba system.

The first member of the Atel Team we met was the Comfort Adviser. He arrived on time for his appointment with us and after looking over the property ruled out our first choice of a Geothermal system because of a lack of space. He suggested instead to install the Mitsubishi Zuba system after explaining the way the system worked and what was involved.
He then measured the house for square footage as well as all the windows and doors and insulation in the attics as well as which way the house face for sun exposure. He would use this information to do a Residential Heating & Cooling Load Calculation and Project Report which he emailed to me about 5 days later. The report outlines costs and savings comparing the old and new systems. After we went over the report and considered the savings we contacted our comfort advisor who sent us a quote which we accepted. We provided a deposit and the equipment was ordered.

When all the equipment arrived the installation was scheduled over 2 days. The installers arrived on time the first day and removed the furnace, hot water tank, oil tank and A/C unit which all recycled.
After that they brought the indoor air handler and hot water tank into the basement. One tech worked on getting the new hot water tank up and running. Another worked on positioning the indoor air handler and measuring for duct work modifications. Another tech worked on installing the Outside Unit on a stand to keep it above the snow as well as electrical modifications. Another tech helped with removal of the oil filler pipes and the patching of the holes thru the foundation as the oil tank was in the basement.

On the second day the installers arrived early and while one tech worked on electrical and coolant lines the other 2 worked on the duct work and drainage line for air handler. Once the duct work was completed on the air handler the electrical was hooked up and the coolant lines were installed and pressure tested. The new thermostat was installed and the system fully tested. System operation was explained and the job was done.

There is only one word we can come up with to describe the Atel Air Team and that is

EXCELLENT

Everyone on the team from the Comfort Advisor to the Office staff to the installation crew knew what they were talking about, were courteous, and explained each step of the installation completely and are a credit to the company. The installation crew explained all our many questions during the install without hesitation. They not only cleaned up on the go but did a complete cleanup on completion.

We would not hesitate to recommend Atel Air for any Heating, Air Conditioning or Electrical job.

A good guide to any Company is its staff and Atel Air staff have passed with flying colours.

After the last power outage, we decided we needed a back up generator installed at our home. Sadly, no one in our area did that type of installation. So we contacted ATEL. Even though we were outside their normal operating area (and a 1.5 hour drive away) they took on our job. Super service. Very polite and well spoken. Explained everything in detail. The installation was completed in one day. No fuss or mess. Very professional. We were very pleased with this company and would recommend them to anyone.
PS: The reason we gave them only 4 stars out of 5 is that we need a real power outage to show the generator operates properly. The tests went off perfectly.

My wife and I have been ATEL Air customers for 12+ years, staring with the installation of our closed-loop, geothermal system. We decided to replace our existing oil furnace with something 'greener' and a geothermal system seemed to be a logical choice - despite the 10 year (or so) pay back period - when compared to the installation of a new natural gas furnace and a new, whole home, air conditioner.

In any event, despite the project being quite disruptive to our front yard (3-200' deep well bores needed to be drilled) we were (and still are) extremely pleased with the results. So when it came time to replace our 20+ year old air exchanger, our logical choice was ATEL Air. And even better, their pricing was very competitive when I compared their quote to other HVAC companies. And, of course, the installation was completed in a timely and professional manner.

As for this latest project, my wife and I had noticed that the humidity in our home, especially during our typical hot, humid summers, was always on the high side (50%+). While the geothermal system was more than capable of cooling our home, the cooling was never sufficient to drop the humidity to a more comfortable level. That's why we decided to have a whole home dehumidifier from Aprilaire installed in our utility room. And who else would we get to do the work but ATEL Air.

Starting with Dwayne, the Comfort Consultant/Advisor who performed a site visit prior to installation, to the two installation team members who completed the installation, the entire process was as close to effortless as you can get - if you don't count the several emails that I sent to Dwayne and the 2 or 3 phone calls that I made until arriving at the decision to proceed with the project. And believe me, I had several questions/concerns that needed to be addressed before booking the installation - all of which were handled with professionalism and courtesy.

As for the installation, as usual, it was skillfully completed within the estimated 3 hour window and, despite the unique circumstances/tight space, 'went off without a hitch'. Of course, being a long-time ATEL Air customer, I was expecting nothing less.

So, if you're looking for an HVAC company that exhibits a high level of professionalism, with skilled installers/technicians and is a model of integrity, I highly recommend Jimmie and his entire team at ATEL Air.

Post script: Not sure if this is helpful, but I have never rated a company on Homestars before and I RARELY give a company, service or product a perfect (5 star) rating, as there is always room for improvement. However, when it comes to ATEL Air, they have customer service down to a fine art.

Superior service. From Dwayne who provided quote and explained the difference between the 2 units recommended to Brad & assistant who did the install.

Technicians were very respectful and friendly while in the home. Outside and inside were left clean and tidy.

Have used Atel for the 3 years I have owned the home for regular maintenance on furnace and A/C. Would recommend to anyone looking for heating & air conditioning needs.
