Bathroom renovation

I would totally recommend this company to anyone looking for a great, professional, friendly, renovation. Jet Home is a great company as Edison as the owner is very polite and willing to work with however you desire,a very hard worker that will get the job done right,he did my job sometime in fall 2019,my project was to renovate my master bathroom, and modernize it since it has been the same since I bought the house in 2004,however he did the job fine relocating the bathtub, adding a double vanity, remodeling the shower, and, adding heated flooring in the bathroom, this is not the only service I've gotten from Edison I've had him finish my basement in 2013 which still looks new to this day denfently give him a call if considering.

Complete kitchen renovation

What a mistake picking Jet home improvements. We interviewed 3 contractors. Edison came across as calm and experienced and wanted to deal with a smaller contracting company. His references checked out and we agreed to his payment schedule and signed the contract. Unfortunately, the payments were not tied to performance. He and his son did show up every day and work. However, It soon became apparent that he was not paying his sub contractors who would show up on site refusing to do work until they got paid. In order to get the job done we paid some of the contractors up front and would reconcile with Edison later.
Approx. 2/3 of the way through the job Edison disappeared for approx. 6 weeks, no telephone calls, etc. We were left with dealing with the sub contractors and having the project delayed. We eventually found out he had left the country. After several months and calls and a visit to his residence he did make some attempt to continue working on the job. One of the remaining tasks was the kitchen backsplash, the job was so poorly done that we had to rip it out and hire another contractor. We had to give up expecting he would willingly finish the renovation. To
this day, he did not live up to the contract he signed.
Take aways from this experience are: If you want a smooth and stress free experience check more than3 references, tie payments to performance, get an in writing price for extras and unforeseens, get the names and phone numbers of sub contractors who will be used so you can make sure your contractor always pays them.

House Renovation

This company is a Fraud! It was a huge mistake to hire JET Home Improvements to do our full house renovation. We interviewed several contractors to renovate our house in Pickering. We selected Edison’s company based on a word mouth from someone we knew. The price was not the cheapest, but reasonable. Our main goal was to finish the full renovation in 2 months, as we were renting an apartment in Mississauga and we had to commute every day to Pickering for our kids school. At start everything was going smooth; however after 2 weeks of start date Edison fired his sub-contractors indicating that they were not up to the quality of work he was expecting. We knew afterwards that never paid them for the work they had done. This caused a lot of delays on the schedule. We had a signed contract with fixed milestones and schedule of payments. After he received more than 55% of the overall cost and after 3.5 months dragging to get some work done, he left us in the middle of a construction phase without 1 finished bathroom, no hardwood flooring, unfinished tiles, and most importantly with no stairs to the basement; preventing us to return back to a living home! After several attempts to contact him and begging to finish our project, with no response; we had to file a case against his company; which until to-date we still have no resolution. We had to hire another team of sub-contractors to complete the job he left us with. Most of the electrical and plumbing work he did was faulting, causing us more money to fix what he did. I can’t be specific about any work he did as most of his work had to be redone again because of water leaks from bathrooms, electrical surges and short circuits he did.

The stress he caused me and my family and the sleepless nights we had on the bare floors with no running water and proper electricity is a witness of the incapability of this company to do any renovation work. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, rather I would bet this company will run out of business very soon!

Bathroom Renovation

Wanted to add a shower to our existing 2-pce washroom in the basement. Space was very tight so had to gut the existing fixtures and re-arrange to fit. Jet demolished the existing bathroom, dug and installed new plumbing, built new framing, installed new electrical, shower stall, ceramic tiles on walls and floor, new dual-flush toilet, new vanity, new light fixture and exhaust fan, new laundry tub and even routed a heat vent into the washroom which we never had before. Jet's quote was one of the lowest; I had estimates from $15-25k from other companies. Edison came up with excellent suggestions on how to fit the shower into our limited space without increasing our cost. He started immediately and got the project finished in just over a week. We are very happy with the work. The new washroom looks beautiful. With Edison's help we were able to maximize our use of the limited space we had for the bathroom. He really listened to our needs. He was courteous and responsive, and left the place free of construction debris when he was finished. We wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

Bathroom Renovtion

We had our bathroom upstairs renovated completely (September 2011). The job was done and paid for. However, on November 10, 2011 we had a huge leak on our main floor - the water was leaking through the light fixture on the main floor during taking a shower upstairs. The renovation company was advised, sent someone to fix it (November 11, 2011), 2 days after fixing (on November 13, 2011) it started to leak again from the same spot. They came to fix it second time. Of course, there was some damage done to our ceiling and painting on the wall on the main floor. Also, the wooden door frame to our living room on the main floor was damaged by water. Edison said they will take care of the damage. When the second fixing was done, they stared to fix the water spots on the ceiling (painted the spot white colour, which was OK), the wall paint which was damaged above the door frame to the living room was re-painted with primer only and left it like this till today. Our original colour is not white... Edison was advised again, we left him 2 messages (November 19, and November 20, 2011) however, suddenly he never responded to our messages, never picked up the phone. He even has not found the time to come to our house and inspect the damage... Looks like he will never return to fix the damage...we are very unsatisfied with his services...

Bathroom gut reno - Moved location of toilet, sink and shower within exisitng bathroom.

Edison was prompt to return my calls, adjusted his schedule to meet my needs and quickly completed the work with experienced skill. He even met with the city inspector as I got a building permit for the plumbing work. The Price was quite reasonable given the scope of work. Job site left clean. End result exceeded my expectation.
