Fresque Carpentry No Longer In Business

I had a double front door installed in Nov, 2009
The work looked good at the time and I was happy with the install. I am not a professional and couldn't judge at the time if the door was installed properly. However, I have since had a lot of problems with water penetration under the sill. It has been re-caulked several times but as there is a major error in the install the door can never be completely sealed from the elements .This year it was like a waterfall in the basement. I have learned the hard way It is worthless to have a door improperly installed that leaks like this no matter how good it looks.
I contacted Henry to get a quote on addressing this problem and he was not interested. I also asked who was the manufacturer so I could order parts and he wouldn't even give me this information.
So now after only three years the door frame will have to be torn out and replaced.

I needed an office door installed and Henry was quick to respond to my query which is important as many companies on Homestars don't return customer calls. He did a very professional job and I was happy with the service.

Henry showed up on time, measured, and offered a very reasonable quote, especially given the quality of his work. On install day he worked efficiently and cleanly, a total professional. The French doors look great, they look and function as promised, and the closet doors look really well installed too. So many contractors do a 'good enough' job - for want of skill if not for want of caring - that it is really great to meet someone like Henry who does such polished work.

Badly in need of a new front door I approached the Big Box stores for a quote on a steel door and storm door with installation. They would not commit to doing both at the same time. So I approached Henry Fresque and he emailed me different styles with quotes. Having decided what I wanted Henry took over and ordered all the material.On a mutual acceptable day he installed the main door with lock set and also the storm door, all with new framing. He takes the time to do a first class job, He cleaned up to a point where you would never know he was there! Can't wait to put him to work on my rear door!

In May 2011, Henry Fresque installed in my home seven single interior doors, two sets of bifold doors, two sets of sliding doors as well as the associated hardware and door knobs. The installation was done very professionally and in a timely fashion. Also, Henry's price was very fair and he was very courteous in doing the work. Always he left our house in a very clean state after he was through for the day. There were a couple of minor adjustments which Henry willingly made to our complete satisfaction. At one point Henry noticed that our stairway handrail was a bit loose and took it upon himself to repair this without further additional cost to us. Henry was fast, friendly and reliable. Work is top notch. My original idea was unworkable but he was polite in reviewing all the options. If you want the best done quickly call Henry.

My wife and I redesigned the laundry room and kitchen layout. This required tearing down and rebuilding a few internal walls. The space worked well, but unfortunately the location of the existing windows was a problem.

Henry helped brainstorm an idea that minimized my costs and allowed me to reuse all the windows that had been removed. His labour costs were very reasonable. The quality of his work was very good.

If you've ever tried to hang a door, you know it's a job best left to the pros. I emailed Henry the sizes I needed, he sent me a quote the next day, and a month later he installed six solid-core doors in about 8 hours. No callbacks, no problems. He handled all of the unexpected hurdles (warped frames, frames pulling away from wall, etc.) without any trouble. My only neg was the big mess left by his planer and router, but in a condo with a snow-covered terrace, it was hard to avoid. Recommended.
