Furnace

Our furnace went out at the end of January when it was very cold. Chris in sales came out the next morning, and Brent and Tyler came out the following morning to install a new furnace. Everything went perfectly and we could not be more pleased with the experience. We have now had Reliance (through Costco) install AC, a hot water tank, and a furnace. All three experiences with Chris and the installers were positive and we always recommend this company. When we got quotes for the AC and hot water tank, Reliance (with the Costco cash card bonus) came out as the best deal. We didn't bother getting quotes when our old furnace died, since they previously had the best deal on the AC and hot water tank.

Furnace

Needed new furnace and met with Troy from Reliance. Came to our place and was very professional and personable. Decided on product and night before installation changed our mind. Contacted Troy and made changes we wanted. Ross and Jared came to our place for installation. Dealt with Ross who was very knowlegable and informative. Had decided on where AC unit would be placed. Prep work done on location. My wife was not happy with my decision and was very concerned about the location of the AC. Contacted Ross after hours and he advised he would see what he could do. In short AC was moved to new location. Very happy with dealings with Troy and Ross....would highly recommend Reliance to anyone.

Plumbing

Fantastic service by journeyman plumber, Nathan. Fixed bathtub faucet and secured toilet to floor. Very professional, efficient and friendly. I normally do not comment on services provided, however Nathan demonstrated expertise that was beyond my expectations. Highly recommended.

Furances and air conditioner

Had 2 furnaces and an AC installed yesterday. Chris M was very professional and informative on what type of furnaces to buy. Installers Brent D & Tyler phoned before coming, then worked hard and fast. On day 1, they took out 1 furnace and left the other so we could have heat that evening. They informed us what they were doing during the installation. Cleanup after day 1, 2 and 3 was exceptional. Good work guys and Reliance. Will give Reliance as a reference

Regular maintenance

Reliance requires your furnace to be inspected to keep the warranty which is fine. I has my service call come out of January 9th 2017. After Tech finished up and left I could smell gas. I phoned atco to come out and they traced the problem to the control valve. I had called reliance at 5pm after calling atco I had a 20 minute wait time. The gentleman I was talking to booked my appointment for 7pm to 11pm window. At 11:20 I phone reliance again because no one showed up. They stated they lost appointments. They were suppose to call back with an update never did. I had to call in again. The lady I talked to told me I have to wait till 7am to get a tech to show up. After I told her this is ridiculous she booked me in for a window of 12am to 7am. So I hope one day reliance shows up again. I will be cancelling my monthly payment plan and looking to a new company.

Two new furnaces

We had great service from this company at install. They were neat and we thought they were great. The issue has been service. We had them out to service the equipment the year after it was installed and they were great. The second year we called and when they had done and gone my husband checked the filters and they were all filthy. When I called the company they told me they didn't have any in the truck that day. I said, not my issue, I paid for full service and to have the filters changed, which they had done the first time all included. They were not prepared to send anyone out to do this. This year, our upstairs furnace stopped working and they promptly sent someone out who got it working briefly. A week or two later, the same issue but this time the upstairs thermostat was at 37 for a week and melted all my make up in the bathroom. They sent someone out who changed the thermostat but didn't leave a manual ! So for the last week we have been trying to sleep with a bright blue thermostat in our bedroom. They just sent someone out to fix it but our experience has been a comedy of errors. We are not difficult to deal with but we do expect quality and consistency which we have not altogether had from this company.

Roller Coaster Experience with Reliance --On X'mas day!!!!!

I had a new furnace installed 3 days ago--- Dec. 22. First the HVAC technician Bob came and told me I needed a new one. Very nice, informative and helped me to get the sales person Chris and 3 heaters for overnight. I checked online review and figured they are good. So I did not shop around and wanted to get all done for Christmas. The next day two gentlemen (Drew and sorry I forgot his name) came right on time and finished their work on time. They are very professional, neat, and ensured me I will have a great X'mas in my new house.
Things turned sour on X'mas Eve. I felt the house was cold but did not realize the furnace was NOT working. Plus I started to have friends coming over. X'mas morning, super cold. the inside temperature showed 10 degree. I realized the furnace is not working. I phoned local number and was transferred to customer care center. I was told a tech will come between 8 am to 1 pm. The outside temp of Edmonton is -20 and inside is 10. I think it should be a emergency--what if there is gas leaking. At the meantime I needed to go to work. I called a number from one of the paper left for me. Manager 780-xxx-4703. He said "oh I am opening the X'mas gifts with kids and what you want me to do"--impatient. I apologized for calling him this time and hope he can send someone sooner. He said he will call me back. On the way to work I called him again. Again he was still opening gifts and asked me where I get his number. I can see he was very upset. Excuse me it is my fault to call you at YOUR X'mas time and it is not a problem if my house is cold and have people staying inside and maybe in potential danger. I have tears in my eyes........ I work at a hospital pharmacy and I told my co-workers what happened. None of them think this is appropriate nor professional.

Happy ending: someone came around 9 am and fixed it. It is some parts "incorrect wired". Mistake happens but not poor customer service.
My lesson: next time shop around and do not rush in some important decision.

Gracie we appreciate your comments. I took you call at 7:19 and yes I was opening gifts with my children at 7:19 when you called and again when you called at 7:47. From there I contacted our dispatch and found out your call was booked already for that morning and we arrived at your house at 8:50 as I made your call a priority as you had no heat. We fixed your furnace and all was good. In less then 2 hours we responded and had everything working for you on Christmas Day ! This is exceptional service and proves that we look after our customers. Not sure what else you expected? Especially considering you said it was a happy ending. Lesson learned is that you went with a company that will take care of it's customers 24/7.
