Replace building traps, drain pipes and install backwater valve

Dmitry and his crew at A to Z Plumbing recently replaced a building trap and installed a backwater valve at my rental property. They also replaced all of the drain pipes, replaced the building trap and installed a backwater valve at my residence. In both instances, Dmitry and his crew were professional, polite and clean. The outdoor work required that the crew dig a trench that was at least 8' deep. I am amazed at how carefully they removed and then replaced the grass over the trench they dug. It is almost impossible to tell that anything was done. They were also extremely clean when working indoors. I would recommend this company to anyone and intend to call Dmitry should I need a plumber in the future.

Dear Valerie,
thank you very much for taking your time to review our work, and for giving us 10 stars!
Thanks for commenting on how clean and careful my crew is. We take great pride in providing service in such a clean way that homeowner experiences the least disruption to the looks of his or her property. Yes, outdoor work is tricky, but with wealth of experience and techniques that we accumulated over years, the quality of our work seems to satisfy our clients.
You are a pleasure to deal with, and we will gladly help you with any plumbing projects in the future.
Thanks once again,
Dmitry.

toilet fix

Our toilet was not working properly. a to z showed up and advised a part needed replacing. The plumber did not have the part (a rubber flapper valve) with him but, showed me how to replace it myself. No charge, FREE! I easily replaced the part myself and the toilet works fine. The FREE advice was excellent.

Backwater Valve Installation

After the basement backup in July 2013 I've been wanting to reduce the possibility of it happening again. I finally made the call to A to Z Plumbing & Drain after searching Homestars and elsewhere. Dmitry responded immediately and answered all my questions. Explained the whole procedure for the valve installation. Took care of all city dealings from permit to inspection and supplied the paper work for the city subsidy. Was very confident after speaking with Dmitry that the backwater valve would greatly reduce the chance of a sewer backup if there was another extreme rain event. The procedure is a bit messy but A to Z made sure absolutely nothing was tracked through the house. From start to finish (not including the initial assessment) the job was completed in 32.5 hours. The only sign any work was done was the neatly patched floor ready to be retiled. Would highly recommend A to Z Plumbing & Drain. They truly understand customer service, plus they actually deliver with excellent work.

Thank you for writing such a great review. I do go extra mile both in customer service and on quality of work. Frankly, it feels good when clients acknowledge, and comment on this.
You are right, installing backwater valve can be messy, and we always minimize the impact on your home and never lower our standards. We work until it's clean - and done right.
Thank you for your recommendation. I really appreciate it.

Backwater valve installation

We found AtoZ plumbing's online website and read through the Homestars review. We emailed a quotation request and Dmitry promptly responded. He came out himself and explained about the type of valve (Mainline), his role in getting the permit, dealing with the City's inspector, etc. As he was prompt, courteous and the quote was very reasonable, we decided to go with his company. He accommodated our work date request and his crew was efficient. He definitely made it an easy and effortless process and a great homeowner experience. We would not hesitate to recommend his company to our friends and family.

Hi Chris,
thank you very much for your review. I get a lot of my work from referrals, and it is great to see that a new client is equally satisfied. Yes this process can be complicated and time consuming for someone who's never gone through it, this is exactly why it take it off the homeowner's shoulders.
Your backwater valve will serve you for many years, and I am here to help if you have any other projects.
Much appreciated,
Dmitry.

Back water valve installation

I hired a to z plumbing based on recommendations from a friend who had similar work done. Dmitry was prompt, always on time, and thorough. He explained everything to me so that I understood exactly what was to be done. His workers were skilled at their job and I did not feel like I had to be watching them constantly to be sure they were doing things right. Dmitry is the best contractor I have ever hired.

Backwater Valve

I found Dmitry on the Homestars site. I called him to set up a time and he came that very evening. He was always on time and very courteous. He and his staff were professional in their work. After the camera drain inspection, a problem was detected with the set up of the plumbing/drain in my basement so the valve had to be installed on the exterior. The staff did the excavation while keeping my front yard tidy and free from dirt and dust. After the inspector's visit, the excavated area was filled and the grass and pave stones put back neatly. They even saved my tulips in the garden bed. Dmitry also helped me to fill out the city subsidy paperwork. I have nothing but good things to say about Dmitry and his team! Thanks a lot gentlemen!!!

Dear Charlene,
Thank you very much for your wonderful review of our work. We are happy you are satisfied with our work. Putting the valve outside of the house is, sometimes, the only option. And in this case, tidiness matters, treating the front yard with care matters, flowers matter. Every plumber can dig a hole, the trick is to do it neatly. If a plumber does it right front yard looks will be preserved.
Thank you once again for taking your time to write about us and our work,
We'll be happy to help in the future, although hope that you won't need a plumber again for a while :)
Regards,
Dmitry

Mainline Backwater Valve

This company was recommended to me by a friend who also had her backwater valve installed. Dymitry was professional and trustworthy from the first phone call and meeting. He procured the permit from the city and prepared the paperwork for the city reimbursement program, and arranged for the city inspector to come out. He gave me us a copy of the building permit as well which no contractor had ever done before; I was impressed by that. Drop sheets were put down across the kitchen floor and down to the basement to the work area. The area was kept tidy and soil put into bags until it was to be backfilled. In fact we were impressed with how tidy the area was after the hole had been dug and wondered where all the soil went! Here's where I didn't give them full stars: one of the workers dumped clay soil from the work area that was dug out in behind the shed where I had bulbs planted; a worker also filled a hole where I had prepared to plant something, with the 'left over' clay that wouldn't go back into the hole; clay that should've been taken off the property to a dump . Dymitry had no knowledge of this having happened, and when it was brought to his attention, he promptly returned the next day himself to correct the problem, despite car problems, to remove the clay his worker had dumped. I would give Dymitry full stars for his own level of workmanship, conscientiousness, respect to property, and politeness. He always communicated clearly to us what work was to be done and when a problem arose, he spoke to us about a solution and we moved forward.
I would recommend this company again to friends and family, for installation of a mainline backwater valve, given Dimitry's high level of standards for his work.

Hi Lorry,
thank you very much for an extended and positive review. I do appreciate that, despite a mishap caused by one of my workers, you rated your experience 9 stars. My goal is perfect customer service. As you noted, I have high standards of work, and I was taken aback by this situation. I thank you for taking into the account all other positive things that have happened, and not letting this episode cast a shade on your whole experience.
Getting permits, learning about types of backwater valves, dealing with the City, making decisions about subject you want to know nothing about - takes a lot of time and effort. It is frustrating. So, my goal is to make it as easy and effortless for my clients as possible. I am glad to have done it for you.
Thank you for being a great customer.
Best,
Dmitry

Backup valve

Dmitry and his team are professional, always were on time, knowledgable, quick, cleaned all the mess after the installation, and help me to file papers for government reimbursement for the valve. I recommend this company without reservations. When the lid of the device was broken during the installation, Dmitry made a special trip back to my place to replace the lid the next day. They care about their job.
