The Mold Guy, Mold Detection & Removal

Beware of this company. This company has no integrity and no customer service. Quoted and charged us for 1 full day of work. The workers worked at our house for 3 1/2 hours. When the two workers were in my basement, I asked them what was the terrible smell in my bathroom. They had the bathroom door shut and when I opened it, the smell was so strong I could not breathe. They said they did not know what this smell was and that they did not ever smell this before. They said that it was probably sewer gas and we should call a plumber. Turns out they poured their chemicals and cleaning products down our shower drain in the bathroom next to where they were working. That same night after they left our house the smell got so strong it was coming through my heat vents etc. and our eyes were burning and we could not swallow and our throats were sore. We got so scared, I called Ross and told him what was happening and he said he did not know what it could be other than a drain or plumbing issue. He came over to our house the next day and smelled our drains and said "yes, this is our cleaning/chemical products" and that they had been dumped down our drain by his two workers. He did not offer an apology or show any concern for what was happening to us. We did not know at first what this was, we just knew how the smell was effecting our breathing and our eyes and throats. This was a very scary experience for us. We had even called two plumbers the night before. Ross did not care about any of this. It has now been over 1 week and we still smell it in our house. If you want a company that actually cares about you and your home, do not hire this company.

Phil and his crew were able to remove all mould and identified a few areas to be be treated.

From assessment to removal, the company did what they promised and finished early to boot. thanks everyone.

My son and his wife were very concerned when they discovered what looked like mold in their basement aptartment shower. As a concerned parent I helped them search out a company that specializes in mold. That's when we found "The Mold Guy" When I called I spoke with Kay. She was friendly, caring, informative and listened. She was quick to set up for someone to do an inspection....within 24hrs! This was very impressive as we were all very concerned that what we found in the shower was mold. A very informative, kind and understandable gentleman named Ross came out to conduct the inspection. He was very professional and patient with us. He thankfully did "not" find any mold, it was mildew. What a load off our minds! Ross did not belittle our concerns after finding out it was not mold. He repected our concerns and explained in detail the difference between mold and mildew. He also recommended in detail how to clean up the mildew and also the grout. He was reasonable with the cost and didn't conduct any unnecessary testing. Which we really do appreciate!
I will definitely recommend "The Mold Guy" to anyone I come in contact with that has any concerns about what they feel may be mold!!

After Kay handled my call in a friendly and helpful manner, Ross came and looked at things, explaining in clear terms what had to be done to rectify my situation. Healthy home...healthy family, I say. I was quite upset when "I"discovered mold in my new home (home inspector we hired was negligent). When buying your new home make sure your home inspector knows what they are doing and are competent.

The Mold Guy was called to assess and remediate mold in three areas of the basement. They identified a couple of different sources, and remediated the areas in a timely manner. The workers were professional, and the work done was very good, exactly as outlined in the quote. We had the confidence to move forward and make repairs as necessary, without spending unnecessary money. Thank you to all.

They did a great job. We needed a certificate for our bank. They professionally completed the job and provided us the needed documentation. We had a great experience with their whole team. From the first call to the after-work followup email from the company (and every call in between), dealing with The Mold Guy was easy, pleasant, helpful and professional.
During the very first visit (free assessment), Ross walked through entire home making observations and suggestions how to improve ventilation and insulation to address the root causes of mold. He also very clearly explained the mold removal process and answered all my concerns.
On the day of the work (at 4am in hot August), 3 friendly guys showed up, setup, took "before" pictures, and got it done in about 4 hours. The results were transformational! Mold blackness is gone, wood sheathing is clear, and the attic is certified mold-free. I am now in progress of taking care of the root causes, so that the attic stays that way. Thanks Mold Guy(s).
UPDATE: Two years after roof vents upgrade and improvements to attic insulation and softfit, the attic remains mold-free as per followup testing.

To make a long story short these guys are awesome! I had the sale of my house closing in 2 days and They rearranged their schedule so I could meet my time line. The guys arrived on time 4am and were happy go lucky from the start. The work was great and the house was sold. Kay from the office was great help and answered all the questions I had even the one I didn't think of. If you have a mold problem and need it fixed it would be foolish not to use the Mold Guys! Thanks guys it was a pleasure!
