City Wide Movers

This is the worst company ever! They change the contract after you have signed it! They add more additional costs after they have picked up your belongings! Beware of this company and never hire them! Stay away! The most shady company ! They pick up your stuff then won't give it back till you pay what they marked down after the original was signed! They never told me it was going to take 1-2 weeks to deliver my goods. They demand more and more money without notification. They were 5 hours late! I asked to talk to a supervisor and no one called back. You never know when your going to get your stuff! All in all please stay away! Worst experience ever!!!!!

This has got to be the most underhanded shady operation available. Firstly I was quoted 1075, for a 3100 pound move from Cranbrook BC, to Saskatoon. They were a day late getting to me based on a previous commitment - when I asked if they'd be in town early the next day - no, they won't leave Calgary until 8 am - so I was forced to rent a uhaul to store my stuff for one night, and I got a weigh in of 2830 pounds at the local city landfill scale. The move now is a simple crossload and deliver - I pay 322 upfront, $377 when they load. Arriving in Saskatoon - I don't get a call until late on the delivery day that they are going to be late, okay, they'd had a long day - I had the following day off - I can accept that. When they finally show up the following day... I'm scaled at 3980 pounds, the empty weigh ticket is from 3 days from now and am charged 1440 dollars - apparently the 1075 was just a pick up fee.-
and on top of the "free storage" I am charged 120 for warehousing as they had to store my stuff in Calgary. Am to top it off, apparently this side up on boxes is irrelevant as in my course of organizing found several boxes upside down - on of those being a wardrobe box - a total lack of respect for anyone's belongings.

Expensive, unprofessional, very shady, and not concerned on the way they pack your things, beware. They also demand payment on the spot so they can take your money and run.

The movers did not show up on the day that I was told. Nor the time. They were supposed to be there at 9 am. Finally at 5 pm they showed up. Took them 5 hours to load my stuff which should have only taken 3. And now the date of drop off has arrived and they arent here. The "driver" called me and I could barley understand him, and when I asked when he would be coming, he proceeded to swear and yell at me.
So as it stands, I dont have my stuff nor do I have any idea as to when I will be getting it. Aweful service and unreliable company.

Your movers arrived last Tuesday on time. They were very careful, mats were placed so that there was no tracking into the house. They were clean, well organized and very careful. And efficient. No time was wasted. The move was completed with no damage. They were very helpful in setting everything up properly. We would definitely use them again. With thanks

Pathetic moving service. The cost was way higher than we thought and partly due that their "big truck" wouldn't start so they had two smaller trucks and we had to make multiple trips and thus increased cost. The movers were unprofessional and kept walking off their drop cloths and onto our hardwood floors and carpet (this move was in the winter so snow on the ground and wet shoes). To make matters worse, the movers were incapable of moving our wash machine due to improper training (if any) and improper eqiupment. As such, the scratched 20 feet of cherry wood hard wood floor by draging the washer along the floor rather than picking it up. We tried to reach someone the next day to come out and look, but apparently no managers or supervisors were around (phone receptionist said all were out of town). As our house was being turned over to the new owners the next following day at noon, we had to find someone to repair the damage to the floors. Because the gouge was so deep and long, there would be no way to repair it and make it look good (house sold for $550,000) so we went ahead and got someone to come in, purchase cherrywood hardwood, rip out the old and install the new flooring so our sale would go through the following day. The damage cost us $2,000 and we are new in the process of trying to recover this from City Wide, who is doing every thing in their power to abstain from that obligation?? Figures. My best recommendation is to avoid these guys like the plague for the numerous reasons above. Funny they say the are licenced and bonded but the first thing they give you is an agreement to sign which waives them from any property damage??? First warning. However, when they are negligent in performing their duties their waiver is not likely to stand up in court. Plain and simple, the move was painful, long, unprofessional and costly. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS

I hired City Wide Movers on the recommendation from a friend and they were horrible. I was quoted approx. $300 for my one bedroom move and it ended up costing me over $600. The movers were unfriendly and very very slow and inefficient. Myself and my new building manger ended up doing over half the work to unload. I am very unsatisfied and will never used this company again!

Satisfied with the service.
I had City Wide Movers crew moving my house from Calgary to Cochrane. The movers were really nice and professional people, they took their shoes off when they came into the house and wrapped all my furniture, they even put blankets over the staircase so they don't damage it when they take the furniture downstairs. They worked at the good pace and I never had to hurry them up.
They also helped me to put my bed together and the drawing table.
Overall I was happy with my move.

On the day of my move, City Wide sent two guys who had each been with the company less than one week. The company had not told them all of the detailed list of items I had filled out beforehand and they were not prepared. The move took over 8 hours, even with myself and others helping the movers lift boxes. They charged us for each and every hour and told us they would not do anything to repair the dents in the walls that their inexperienced movers made. They had terrible customer service (although the movers themselves were nice guys). The movers also did not have anything to put down on the carpet and tracked their dirty shoes all over our new home. I would never use City Wide again and recommend that you stay away.

I hired City Wide Movers to conduct a local move within Calgary. Prior to the move, they provided me with a quote and time estimate of 3-5 hours at $95/hour. It ended up taking over 8 hours (but I was only charged for 8 hours after complaining). The workers were very slow moving and took many long smoke breaks. I indicated at the time that I was unhappy with their pace, but the workers indicated I had to pay the balance in full and then contact the office the next day to discuss my issues. I have now been trying to contact the company for 2 weeks and they won't return calls or emails. I am seeking a refund for 3 hours of work as this is what I was quoted and what it should have taken based on previous moves.
