Move from Washington DC to Edmonton Alberta

This company will make your move very stressful! Please look at all the unrecommended reviews, I missed them and I am paying the consequences.
My experience was similar to Kara R, once I accepted their quote and paid the deposit no one returned my calls anymore, not even the Director of the Company. I was unfortunate to have Mark as my account manager, he call me 3 times to clarify my quote in Canadian Dollars. My items were picked up at 10:00 pm and they finished loading them at 2:00 am, next morning I get an email from Mark saying that they "mistakenly" quoted me in Canadian Dollars, and that they would charge me in US dollars. Same situation as Elyse L that also reviewed them. I have not received my items yet. Another company called TransCanada is transporting them, neither TransCanada, nor the Relocation Group tell me how much will be my final bill. I will be surprise if this company honors they contract and invoice me fairly... Will keep you updated.

Move from Ontario to Minnesota

Our moving experience was a nightmare. Needed our belongings two weeks before we finally got them. Driver shows up with no movers. The movers they had hired canceled that morning. We had to help unload the truck, which was not part of the agreement. Some of our belongings never made it. we took inventory and told the driver but he insisted everything was delivered. We still have several missing items. They charged us over $1000 more than we were quoted. They were careless with our floors and furniture. Our table was scratched. They wore dirty shoes on our white carpets and scratched our kitchen floor. No one responds after SEVERAL attempts to both email and call the office. VERY FRUSTRATED!

Services

The people submitting their reviews here should be aware or at least should include this fact if some of them are aware: Relocation Services is a freight broker for Household/residential moves. They do not operate any equipment, and subcontract the moves they book to asset-based trucking companies that specialize in Household moves. So the service being detailed here - good or bad - was not actually provided by their staff. They are a sales office.

global relocation service

This. I pant is horrible spoke to a guy named mark. He took my credit card information paid him 370 for a deposit on a move he set the date for pick up. We waited all day no call finnally we receive an email telling us he will not be available for 10 days as he is not in his office and left us dispatchs number. I called dispatch and he didn't know of any pick ups that were suspose to happen in my area and said business was slow and could "possibly" have a truck in the area in another weeks time. Very inconvenient. So I called mark 3 or 4 times left numberius emails no response. Today called some guy named Paul he seemed very unwilling to help me. I can't seem to get my money back and still waiting on some kind of conformation on my move. This company is Horriable!!! Soon going to better business beurau

Shipping from U.S.A to Canada

Promised me packing-unpacking services, but phrased contract in a misleading way. Had to peck myself after movers came.
Promised they would take care of customs without us - called us a day before arriving to set a time there, so we will clear everything.
Asked us to email copies of all sorts of paperwork in advance - truck driver told us he needed originals after loading his truck.
Promised to set the date for shipping 10 days in advance, set it on Friday to the next Monday!

Moving

This guys worked well but i was not ok with the final weight they charged me. They were on time at the moment of the pick up and also on the delivery, not damages. I could give them 7 over 10

Moving Calgary to Houston

I would give zero stars if possible.
So I am not sure why I hired this company in the first place, but I did and this is my experience. Very unprofessional with regards to contacting you on a regular basis while your belongings are being transferred. I had to ask so many questions for information I should have just been told. They do not invoice, so just have to trust them. So it turned out this company has no trucks or movers themselves. They hire AMS transportation to do all the pick up and delivery. Why go through these guys when you can call AMS directly. They said the weight of my stuff was 1000 pounds more than initially thought. Things that got broken do not add up to a ton of money, but there is a $300 deductible anyways, and you have to deal with AMS for claims. For real, I have no idea why Relocation Services even exists. I do not think they do exist, they have no office location in any city. I basically think I got dooped, could have definitely got a cheaper price from a professional moving company.

Move from Ottawa, Ontario to Spruce Grove, AB

I hired Relocation Services Canada to move me from Ottawa to Edmonton.
Pat Walsh is a Sales Representative for Relocation Services Canada. However, when moving time came we realized Pat Walsh was very misleading in the way our shipment would be delivered/handled from Ottawa, ON to Spruce Grove, AB. for delivery Aug 24th.
When I sent in my request for quotes for multiple movers I was given quotes for 4 weeks of free storage and $0.50-$0.58/lb. I wanted this because I knew it would take time and money to move from Ottawa, ON to Spruce Grove, AB. When speaking with Pat, he told me the reason other companies were offering free storage was because the shipments sit in a truck and wait to be filled with other shipments and only sent to the destination when full.

He said Relocation Services Canada doesn't do that, and if we go with Relocation Services Canada this would not happen. Instead our shipment would go directly to Spruce Grove, AB.

It would not be unloaded and reloaded, thus, decrease the risk of our shipment becoming damaged.

So we agreed to pay more per/lb and agreed that we needed to pay for storage in Calgary as our shipment would arrive quickly, prior to our occupancy in Spruce Grove, AB.

I was told I had to pay one month minimum for storage. So to ensure safety of my shipment in a timely manner, Pat agreed this was the best method.

When the movers came July 27th (contractors of AMS) I was surprised to find out that they are contracted with all moving companies. It was frustrating that the movers did not bring a big enough truck, so they had no choice but do take apart everything possible to make it fit in the truck and took 12 hours. The movers worked very hard all day, and we were very pleased with this workmanship.

The movers that day also informed us that our shipment would be taken to Guelph? ( an AMS location/holding area). This was not accurate with what Pat told us.

A week later, we were charged more money due to fuel surchage and also found out our shipment was still on hold in Guelph waiting payment. (not in storage). It was okay to pay the extra fuel surchage but was surprised it hadn't left Ontario yet as per Pat's instruction.

When we arrived in Spruce Grove, AB we expected our shipment for August 24th and when called to confirm on the 23rd, found it hadn't arrived in Calgary yet.

We were told by Wayne that our shipment was placed on a slow moving truck because it was storage priority. So our shipment was never in storage in Calgary? We paid for this!

I have a family, twin babies and a 3 year old who are very dependent on our shipment arriving on time. The fact that our shipment left Ottawa on the 27th of July should pose no reason to be late for August 24th.

I had also made confirmations with Western dispatch 1 and 2 weeks prior to.

The emails I sent you were because AMS told us our shipment was never in storage and never redistributed in Ontario and Calgary, which is approx $1400.00.

I have the emails to prove it. When confirming with Balva at Eastern Dispatch and Western Dispatch that no redistribution or storage took place, I requested a refund. Western dispatch contacted Eastern Dispatch and all of a sudden, out of the blue, they decided our shipment was in storage after all in Ontario and I should be charged. This is manipulating what occurred with our shipment to keep my money, my shipment was in a hold time in Ontario, never stored or redistributed. My shipment was already late on top of it all. A person named Wayne western dispatch was also very rude.

So this is what doesn't make sense, why are we paying for storage in Ontario when they confirmed with us it was never stored but in a hold time (as per one of the attached emails) Even so, this doesn't line up with Pat Walsh saying the shipment would go directly to Calgary for storage.

I have tried calling Pat numerous times for an explanation but he hasn't responded. He told us that Relocation Services Canada is known for their excellent customer service and a good BBB rating....hmmm?

The point is I could have went with another company, received 4 weeks free storage, had my stuff on time
for $2000.00 less for the same service I received with Relocation Services/AMS.
I was mislead by Pat and mislead by Balva at AMS.
