Dryer Vent Wizard Of York Ontario

Dryer duct outside my home damaged and the hole was wide open for rodents etc., to enter.

Was recommended from other company (they didn't service my area) to contact Tyler, the owner, at Dryer Vent Wizard. What a GREAT find!

Tyler and I spoke yesterday and his son Leighton came by my house today and replaced the outside duct and foil tubing. Nice young man! Professional. Called ahead that he was on his way (I appreciated the heads up :-). When he arrived, he presented his card and put his shoe covers on when he entered. :-) We proceeded to the basement.

I thought I just needed the outside duct replaced but, after Leighton educated me on the potential fire hazard issues with the foil style tubing, I went ahead with replacing it.

I just want to say...you know how when you search on Homestars and companies are "10 out of 10" and you find that they are just resting on their laurels (I've searched extensively looking for the right people to perform various jobs around my house) with high ratings and you receive poor service? NOT these guys! They are the real deal 10/10! Pro from the very first conversation.

If I have friends or family members that have issues with dryer vents, I will HIGHLY recommend these guys!

Tyler Johnson is a true professional in his field. Our dryer connection was loose and we were advised by our furnace service team to have it checked for leaks as lint was accumulating on the new high-efficiency furnace. The dryer was located close to the furnace and needed to be pulled out of the connection to change air filters and service the furnace. Tyler called to confirm his arrival, came on time and quickly inspected the installation and took numerous photos to show me some of the areas of concern. This is an old dryer, and we had no idea how close we were to a dryer fire!! The inside of the unit was almost completely full of lint, the connections were not properly sealed to the vents, and even the outside vent was completely inappropriate. Tyler explained everything to me, showed me what he was going to do, provided a detailed summary of the costs, completed all the work and showed me the after shots. My elderly mom and I are forever grateful to Tyler -- we never would have dreamed that the dryer could have caught fire. What brought tears to my eyes though was the relocation of the connection that Tyler did. I no longer have to pull out the dryer and struggle with the sharp connection every time I have to change the furnace air filter. This was the initial reason I searched out Dryer Vent Wizard -- my hands and arms are still bruised from my failed attempt on the weekend -- but Tyler really saved us much further damage by cleaning out all that built-up lint inside the machine. I highly recommend their service, even if it is just for your own peace of mind, and again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts Tyler!

On a recently completed renovation the previous contractor did a very poor job on my dryer duct and replaced existing vinyl ducting with 25 feet of general purpose foil ducting. I pointed out to him that the package instruction said NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DRYER VENTING but he stated it is fine and that he used it on his previous jobs so since I am not an expert I believed he knew better. Note that both types of ducting were not proper code. This handyman only made an existing problem worse. This is my lesson for a hiring un-licensed contractor.
Several weeks later I noticed that my laundry was taking longer to dry and the laundry room was damp with moisture. I then noticed the exposed part of the dryer vent disintegrated with the heat and was venting within the ceiling and drywall. This could have led to a fire if left unattended.

It was tough finding a professional to fix this problem, most would perform only duct cleaning and HVAC installations. But after a lucky google search I landed on Homestars and found the “Dryer Vent Wizards.”

He carefully surveyed the area of work with an eagle eye, assessed it thoroughly, took pictures and videos, advised me the cost and course of action spending close to 90 minutes on his first visit. I will state that you cannot put a price on keeping your home and family safe.
The Wizards, Tyler and his son Leighton returned the next day as scheduled with their signature booties! They even sacrificed their Saturday weekend to accommodate my time. I was worried that it would involve tearing down parts of the drywall and ceilings but they carefully cut 3 small holes in the ceiling and wall with skills of a surgeon, replaced over 25 feet of duct with smooth metal and performed the work to code, closed the holes leaving absolutely no mess all in under 4 hours.

It is difficult finding genuine and honest folks to trust after my experience the first time but Tyler changed my opinion. I am so glad that I chose Dryer Vent Wizard and grateful for a job well done.

We were indecisive on whether we should simply have our dryer vent cleaned, or move the venting out to the side wall (which actually made more sense), so we called Dryer Vent Wizard to have someone come out and talk to us about it. Tyler and his son Leighton came over to take a look and explained what each job entailed, and after giving me the price of the 2 different services, we decided to move the vent out through the side wall. The proximity was only 2 or 3 feet, compared to the almost 20 foot span that the builder installed originally. I am thrilled we changed the venting placement, the guys did an excellent job and it took just over an hour to complete! Very nice father and son team, pleasant, professional, friendly and had some laughs with them. We would highly recommend them for any dryer venting needs you may have. Professional job, reasonable cost and no mess. What more could you ask for? Thanks again Tyler and Leighton, we really enjoyed meeting you both...oh and you were right, the sheets would normally take 35 minutes to dry, now it only takes HALF that time!! This will save us money for sure (especially with that fancy "European" dryer we bought)!!

I'm very impressed with the professional and personable service provided by Tyler. Following a detailed assessment, using video and exhaust air speed measurement technology, he recommended replacing the old transition venting and coupling to meet today's fire prevention standard. He then installed the new parts and thoroughly cleaned the vent and dryer. This work has produced a measurable performance improvement.

My dryer vent needed to be replaced and Tyler was very professional in his diagnosis of our situation. He not only replaced our dryer vent, he replaced the venting from the dryer to the outside vent because of the original sub workmanship done before.
