Klumper (I was told it was originally the father's company and the son runs it now) recently installed a tub in our home. Initially, he dropped the tub and broke the flange, but said it wasn't a big deal. We offered him the installation instruction booklet, but he said he didn't need it. Later, he said the face tile that was manufactured as part of the tub didn't fit, so he cut it for a "makeshift" fit. We later rotated the face tile ourselves as it kept falling off - it was then that we realized it was installed upside down. Unfortunately, as it had been cut by him, we had to pay for a new one and have it shipped from the manufacturer. On top of that, we noticed upon using the tub, it rocked. So we had to pay another person to come in set the tub properly on the floor and install proper reinforcements to have the tub sit properly. Also, this may be a small thing for most people, but he took frequent cigarette breaks in our driveway and rather than butt the cigarettes out and put them in an ashtray, he simply stomped his cigarettes out on the pavement and left them there (we are non-smokers). After this experience, we considered leaving a bad review, but didn't want to damage someone's reputation despite the very poor job that was done, so we let it be. However, tonight, the faucet blew off when my husband was taking a shower.
We are an older couple who are gentle on our home and take good care of it. Also, our water pressure is fairly weak - nowhere near strong enough to blow off a secured faucet. My husband, upon examining the faucet which now sat in the bottom of the tub, noticed that set screw was never engaged and the faucet was installed with a nothing more than a very thin seal of silicone to secure it. This was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I am leaving this review as the work done was more than shoddy and we hope that others, if they do hire Klumper, keep a very close eye on his work.
