We had SB Hardwood sand and refinish our stairs and railing, and replace the pickets and posts and 2 landings and we are very pleased with the final result.

They were very easy to deal with, Simon is a very friendly guy who was accommodating, and we valued his input and suggestions. The price was less than we had from other quotes.

One thing that jumped out and sealed the deal for SB Hardwood was they were willing to reinstall the stair handrail at the end of the day every time they removed it. Other companies said they will remove it and it will be off for 3-4 days but depending on when they start, that could include a weekend, so possibly 6 days. So when SB said the stair railing would be back on every evening that clinched it.
Simon gave us a choice of post and picket styles.
We went with the piano style stairs dark wood treads to match the floor and white trim and risers.
Everyone who has seen it, loves it.
The stain for the stairs is a perfect match to the hardwood floor - so much so that people have a hard time believing that the stairs are original and not purchased alongside with the hardwood floor.
They used our garage for cutting and sanding and at the end of every day they tidied and took their tools and equipment with them or moved it to the garage so they werent in the way.
It was a stress and hassle-free experience and we really appreciate the work done.
Would definitely use again.
