Ramp, electrical work (whole house), safety railings inside, washroom reno and more

Safety ramp to allow people with disabilities to enter and exit home....not completely safe.
Whole house electrical panel etc... sensor lights all around home not fixed and told to not make a big deal about a small issue. Can't use some electrical items in one room while using others in another room. Washroom exhaust fans don't exhaust. Sensor lights were supposed to be installed around home, inside and out but told not to make a big deal about it. Some sensor lights were installed and popped during installation. The "electrician" was just a handyman. The real "electrician" came to see that the house hadn't been burned down and never showed up again.
Safety railing were installed where necessary around home so my senior father could get around safely. Two or three of these railings ripped off wall with almost no pressure. I had to make modifications to make things safer. Railings weren't attached to studs.
The washroom was fully redone for my dad's safety. The shower doors don't stop water from shooting out of shower stall. The lights go out for no apparent reason.

Some work was looked at after I insisted. Most of the problems still exist and it would cost more than we can afford to pay. The work was done with government assistance so it's not like we had money to burn. The "electrician" said he would come look at the problems for a fee. Did I mention there was social media posting that could be a legal issue. The company has a history of reviewing itself. I don't see this company changing it's ways. The not licensed "electrician" should worry everyone.

Basement Reno/Addition

Employed Dependable Contracting for quite a big job. Jeff McLeod was personable & honest. He told my husband and myself exactly what our job entailed. We did run into some problems with some wiring as the former electrician did not properly install some wiring, and Jeff wanted to be certain everything was to code and there were not safety concerns for my family. The job was completed withing 3 days of the deadline, and that made us quite happy! We now have the home of our dreams, it is increased in value, and we are so happy that Jeff assisted us in what we thought would be a huge undertaking! I'd hire this company anytime again, and have done so for a smaller project. Thanks Jeff :)

roofing

We had our flat roof re-done by Dependable Contracting in 2009. This involved placing insulation board and torching a rubber cap over the older roof that had been leaking a bit. We have 4 skylights as well and two of them were replaced.
There was a 10 year warranty on leakage and workmanship.
Three years later, we replaced the skylights as the energy audit showed they were letting air in +++ and were poorly installed. We have now totally replaced the flat roof as it was leaking, even on sunny days. Dependable was hard to pin down but eventually came by ( 17 calls/ emails later) and indicated that it was the older skylights that were leaking. We did not want Dependable back on the roof, even though it was under warranty. We got 3 professional quotes and all the other roofers were not impressed at the lack of seam sealing and the poor sealing around the skylights. As the roofing was being removed, the new roofers showed us that the insulation was TOTALLY sopping wet, all over the roof. The only thing that saved us was the first roof layer from many years ago. STAY AWAY from this company.
