From quote to design to completion Suite Builder performed in a very professional manner. I am very happy with the result and would use/recommend Suite Builder again.

Foundation wall damaged by Mudjacking and concrete construction required an interior engineered preserved wood foundation wall. Jeff installed the new framing and blocking quickly and with a minimum of mess.

Foundation repair. Major job. Exterior excavation with new weeping tile. Interior pressure treated 2x8 wall built, sump installed and then basement finished

Suite builder started out great, all of the rough work was very thorough and efficient. All the trades were line up well everything went smoothly. Excellent rough in work.

After deciding to upgrade secondary suite and considering various contractors, we decided to go with Jeff and Suite Builder.

The upgrade included: Removing drop down ceiling tile, framing and dry walling /painting the ceiling, electrical work consisting of installing interconnected smoke detectors and new lighting fixtures, installing an egress window, installing and venting a new range hood, some minor plumbing repair and taking care of all the permits (electrical, etc.)

From the first time we met for the estimate, he was professional, reliable and extremely knowledgeable.

His expertise in dealing with permits and everything the city required was excellent leading up to the actual renovations and continued right through to obtaining the occupancy permit.

He was involved in all the necessary inspections with the city and made sure that everything was done to comply with code and regulation.

His pricing was very fair and he completed everything quicker than anticipated which was fantastic.

We look forward to working with Jeff in the future on future projects and highly recommend Suite Builder if you are looking for a highly skilled, reliable contractor who takes pride in the high quality work they do.

We hired Suite Builder to add a legal secondary suite into the basement of our home. From the very first meeting, Jeff was on time and very professional. He walked us through the planning and layout, using his experience to show us what works best, while making sure its what we visioned. He was always working to gain us more space and make the layout as practical as possible. The quality of their work is very evident in all aspects from start to finish. Owner Jeff is not only an incredible builder but he's an awesome guy. We will miss seeing him around the house now that the project is complete. He has specific subcontractors/ trades he uses and we also couldn't have been happier with their work and professionalism. Not only did he stay on quote, but he found better quality flooring in our budget then the ones we picked out. We will be hiring Jeff and his team for any future projects, and future suites. Many people that have viewed our suite have said it is one of the nicest basement suites they have seen.

Suite Builder specializes in secondary suites, although other companies will offer basement suites, not many specifically specialize in Legal Secondary Suites. Go with the pros, and you will be happy.

Due to family circumstances the basement suite did not go ahead. However Jeff was kind enough to put in the bathroom upgrades I required. Great job by great people.

Jeff Smith from Suite Builder was one of 4 contractors I had come to look at my project. I have a 4 level split home that I wanted to put into two suites with two levels each. Being a single woman doing a large project on my own, my biggest concern was finding someone that was honest, reliable, and able to make the most of my budget. I wanted a contractor that would allow me to do some sweat equity and Jeff planned his bid around those things I was capable of doing myself to keep my costs down. Jeff was very knowledgeable about the codes and city bylaws, he handled all the permits and went to bat for me at the city regarding some variances on my property. Jeff never took any short cuts making sure the proper trades were there to do the job. All his sub-contractors were very pleasant to talk with if I had any questions.
There was some construction upstairs that needed to be done for the upper suite to be completed where we were living and Jeff planned accordingly for the least amount of inconvenience to us. Jeff made sure I was involved in the decisions that needed to be made along the way. In the construction business things are very unpredictable at times and Jeff always kept his cool and was very professional at all times. Jeff was always very approachable if I had concerns or questions. I had a deadline and he worked countless hours to make that happen. It can be a very stressful time to go through a large construction project like this, I was happy to have Jeff in my corner to help with decisions and ideas. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Suite Builder again.
