Very Deceitful, Phony and Unprofessional
This is a business with a very deceitful, dishonest, phony owner, who has anything but a customer service mindset. In fact, the [fake] cordiality and professionalism he displayed when we purchased flooring from his store literally died the moment he took our payment. When a customer spends $5000+ at a private store, the least that owner can do is honour his word, but this is exactly what Kam did NOT do on more than one occasion. Although Ace has some nice looking products, I would never ever recommend anyone to make any purchases there. Save your time, money and sanity, and shop anywhere but here.
At the time of purchase, we accepted Kam's offer for delivery as he said he can give it to us for $100. We confirmed that we live on the second floor of an apartment building (with an elevator, of course). He also specifically told us that after we finish our renos, we can return any unopened boxes of leftover product without a problem.
The day the floor was delivered, we literally waited around all day, missing important work and appointments. I had to call the store several times that afternoon to inquire about our goods. Instead of "before noon", the driver finally arrived at 6. Imagine our surprise when he refused to bring the product to our door. Last time I checked, this is what "delivery" meant - your goods are delivered to at least your doorstep, as was the case with all of our other numerous contractors. When we called Kam to tell him this, all he did was explain that the driver is not his employee. Really?!? When someone arranges and purchases delivery through a business, the business *is* responsible for insuring the product gets to the customer as initially agreed. At the end of this very stressful day, my husband was stuck with a load of heavy boxes that he spent almost an hour carrying to our unit. We were furious, especially at Kam's response. He did not bother to offer giving us back $100, simply stating that he had paid the driver a lot more than $100 we paid him! If this statement weren't so sad and pathetic, it would truly be hilarious!
The last straw was Kam refusing to take the leftover, unopened boxes of laminate floor that we attempted to return to the store with the original receipt. Apparently, it had been more than 30 days, as per the receipt, and the product is no longer in his store; therefore, he has no use of it. Wow! Even though it has been over 2 months since the original purchase, after the stress he had already caused us, the least he could've done is accept the return. He didn't. He practically ripped us off $100 for delivery, left us stranded on the sidewalk in front of our apartment building with a truckload of heavy boxes at the end of the day and he hadn't even made an attempt to make up for it. This speaks volumes about his integrity as a person and a businessman. Like my husband said, luckily we can live without $100, while this owner obviously can't. He is not the first nor the last person who developed a business by deceiving individuals.
