This is the third time we have used Decorative Details and will continue to do so. The owner, Michael Darnley, is personable, easy to understand and provides reliable, excellent service. Michael just finished removing all the carpet in a three-bedroom suite and replaced it with beautiful laminate.

Michael's recommendations for laminate thickness and soundproofing underlay has meant that the tenants below don't hear our dog barking anymore. The work included quarter-rounds and transitions, disposable of the old carpet, moving of all furniture during the renovation, and he cleaned up afterwards! They completed the whole place in less than five days!

I had a design and a wish to create a galley kitchen bigger by taking down
a wall and blocking out a door. Of course one thing led to another and I included a make over to the living room which is the other part of the 1st floor. Mike was fabulous. Hard worker and an excellent good general contractor. There is nothing that this man does not know how to do and is creative about making things work when a difficult situation occurs. CLEAN is his motto. Everyday the shop vac was run picking up the dust and debris at the end of each day. Mike is easy to work with and very honest. He has a great sense of humour as well as a very high work ethic.

We were preparing our home for sale and decided we had to renovate the living room, replace the front door and paint the basement. Having used Michael Darnley of Decorative Details Inc before, we called them again. The door arrived and was provided 3 inches too narrow. They came up with a creative and beautiful way to bridge the gap and the door looks amazing. They then removed the old stucco ceiling in the living room and then installed potlights, added crown moulding and repainted everything. Finally he painted the basement.

Prospects seeing our home raved about the renovations. The house sold in 4 days well above asking price. I would highly recommend Michael Darnley of Decorative Details for any renovations.

We had another contractor who started the bathroom renovation. It was a mess, a nightmare. Instead of using their expertise to advise us so we could avoid issues we ended up with a number of DIY type mistakes as well as their own sloppy work. Mike Darnley and Decorative Details to the rescue! Where the previous contractor quoted $7000 to fix their mistakes Mike did an amazing job for $2000. He advised us on the fixtures to use, correct placement of the vanity and lights and we now love our bathroom. Thanks Mike!
