Moving Ontario to BC

Late arriving. Had 2 men to move upright piano up loading ramp to truck - I had to help them push it to the top. Furniture arrived 10 days late at destination. Employees had indicated damage on nearly every item including our brand new $700.00 dining room table. Should have sat them down and reviewed every item but they were late and we wanted to be on the road ASAP so signed and left without reviewing. (big mistake) Had to pay in full before delivery ( prevents you from holding back on them for damage) I would never use them again!

Moving

I would not recommend this company to anyone.
BUYER BEWARE
I was moving from Ontario to Nova Scotia and contacted this company for a quote. Mark "Senior Relocation Specialist" quoted me $3500, so we decided to go with them. I was advised that they required my credit card for a deposit, as they couldn't send a truck without it. I explained to Mark the date on which I needed my furniture, and he promised that would happen. At no point did he mention that the date was going to be at their convenience, not mine. On the date of the pickup, the movers were over 3 hours late. I called Mark to ask what was going on, and he said the truck is late. He was quite rude and offered no apologies. The day after my belongings were picked up I received an invoice for $6100, which was substantially more than the quote. I was quite shocked that I was deceived, but paid the amount nonetheless, as this company was now in possession of all of my belongings. On October 14, the day before we were to receive our belongings, my husband contacted the company to ask when the delivery would occur. He was notified that everything was still in storage in Ontario, and would not be delivered that week. He asked why neither of us were notified of this, and was not given an answer. He was advised that someone who had that answer would call him back, and of course, no one did. Several times over the course of the following 2 weeks, my husband called numerous times to determine the status of our delivery. None of his calls or emails were returned. Only on the DAY OF the delivery (on November 4, a full 3 weeks late )did I receive a phone call from the driver, an hour and a half prior to the delivery. Not once did we receive any phones calls or emails from the company once we paid them.
Landmark Van Lines is by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Clearly they do not strive for repeat business or referrals. I don't have 1 positive thing to say about this company and would urge anyone who is moving to stay away. In the future when I move again, I will rent a uhaul and move things myself, or give everything away before I put myself in this type of situation again. Moving is very stressful, and Landmark Van Lines will make it a hundred times more stressful than it should be.

move from AB to ON

It continues....the nightmare. Its been 8 days since they dropped my furniture off almost every piece scratched dented or broke! Tore a power line off my house with the truck. Couldn't move the piano upstairs as no equipment but still charged me. Told I'd get a refund due to over charging for packing...pretty hard when Steve the
manager won't answer or return my phone calls!!! Tried calling to see about claims forms as I'm unable to fill them out and AGAIN no one will talk. They have my money and wrecked my furniture and refuse to talk to me. ..Worst people I have ever dealt with! NIGHTMARE! Wrong truck showed up. Started at noon and took til 530am next day to finish loading. Swore and were rude to me. Tried to force me to pay cash for extra packing or threatened to unload on my front lawn. Refused to pay until delivered..so extra charges went fr 250 to 1075. Charged my credit card same day over 10000 to which i was unaware nor had i received a bill. Now its on toronto and they are refusing to deliver my stuff until i sign off on these false charges and nothing is being done to compensate for the profanity used or threats. They have hung up on me and i have no furniture. ...these people need to be stopped!

long distance moving

Undoubtedly Landmark is the worst company I ever had to deal with in my life. There is no coordination between drivers and the office. I booked my move from Mississauga to Calgary on Aug 12 2015 for 31 Aug 2015. I was told that driver will give me call one day before pick up but nobody called. IN the morning I called landmark and instead of apologizing the guy on phone was extremely rude. Landmark gave me estimate for 750 but charged me 1345. My brand new tv was smashed. Landmark offered a 20.00$ for 750.00$ TV.

Moving

We moved from NS to AB and in the beginning the pick up was a bit uncertain, but once picked up we received our items about 10 days later. The movers were quick and organized and everything is in tack. I would recommend them and use them again.

Move

I have moved all over the world and this was the worst experience I have ever had with a moving company. The office staff do not communicate with each other at all! The drivers are lost and have no idea on what orders to complete and where to be or what time to show up. It was a disaster! Pay more money to get satisfaction from another company. I would NEVER use Landmark or recommend this company to my worst enemy.

STAY AWAY!

Please, read the comments with 10 stars carefully and you will see that they written by the company! Then read reviews of real people and NEVER have anything with this company. This is an enclave of tricksters and people without any morals. I will adhere to the other comments with my story so that anyone who reads it could one more time be assured that your life will turn into he** if you hire this company… I was lucky to cancel my move right after the movers did not show up, lucky, because the real nightmare starts after they get your stuff and after my own dealing with this company I am sure that the testimony and the experience of previous reviewers are one hundred percent true about it.

In the beginning of August I called Landmark Van Lines to receive an estimate for my move from Ontario to Nova Scotia. They informed me that a studio apartment like mine should not exceed 750$. I emphasized several times the importance for my things to be picked up exactly on the 26th of August, since on the 27th of August I was leaving for a vacation and would be out of reach. I have read the reviews here, but I did not believe that they were legit, yet I had some doubts, but they assured me many times that these reviews were written by their competitors and that my stuff would 100% be taken on that exact date and would be delivered to Halifax in the first days of September and that they would call me the day before to confirm the pick-up hours, i.e. on the 25th of August. Therefore I prepaid them 900$ from my credit card so that they could arrange things as promised and I could rest knowing that my move was going to be taken care of.

On the 25th of August no one called, so I called them in the end of the day, and they said that the truck should come between 9-11am next day. The next day I was waiting for them with all my things packed and ready. When they did not show up at 11 am, I called them. First, they told me that my pick up is the last one and the movers might not be able to come that day and asked if they could reschedule for tomorrow, the 27th of August. I explained that, in accordance with previous arrangements, it was critical that they picked up my stuff exactly on that date and I was ready to wait till night. After that they first put me on hold and then said that they would call back, which of course they never did. So I called them again and they said that the truck is on its way and should come later this day. After several more stories, which I received from different agents, being on hold and promised to be called back, which never actually happened, I was told that the truck would not come until the 29th of August… Putting my psychological condition astray, this was totally unprofessional given my several requests of the vital importance of the day my stuff should be picked up. I am sure that they had had knowledge that they would not be able to pick up my stuff at least one-two days before the date given the nature of this business, but they even did not bother to let me know. Therefore, I had half a day to find another company that would be able to do the interprovincial move for me, which, of course, cost me more since it was urgent.

I called Landmark Van Lines, explained the situation and asked for the full refund of prepaid 900$. They agreed. The next couple of days I called them a few more times to make sure that the refund was processed. I was assured that I would receive the money maximum within 2-3 weeks. It took them a month to refund this money and it happened the next day I submitted a complaint to BBB, coincidence?

Please, everyone who reads these reviews and is going for a long-distance move, DO NOT hire this company whatever they tell you and no matter how sweat their offers sound. Learn from the experience of people here, read the reviews carefully and you will picture what awaits you if you do.

House belongings moved from Nova Scotia to B.C.

Worst experience I have ever had. I knew exact weight of my goods. When truck arrived they had my weight over double. Truck left because my bank draft was for the actual weight, not their inflated weight. Then the nightmare started. Every three days they wanted more money, usually between three and four hundred dollars. Once they have your belongings on their truck they will bleed you of every dollar they can. They have no ethics whatsoever. I recommend you stay clear of this company. Courtney and Stacy will endeavor to sweet talk you out of all the money they can. Landmark employees will constantly change their story.

Move from Toronto to Waterloo

I hired Landmark when my son was going to school in Waterloo. The previous company we had scheduled his move with cancelled last minute, saying that they had overbooked and would not be able to do the job until 2 weeks later. Since my son was starting school in a week he could not afford to wait that long. I was frantically searching for someone who would do it last minute at a reasonable rate and am so happy that my friend recommended Landmark. Their services were a fraction of the cost compared to the company we had booked with previously and were so accommodating with the last minute booking. The truck arrived right on time and saved my son from having to get a hotel for a week. I'm so grateful for their help and if needed will definitely be moving with them again in the future. Thank you Landmark for saving the day!!

Moving Day

So I was moving from Toronto to Newfoundland. The guys that were helping me to move were very careful with my belongings, they wrapped each item like it was made of glass. This was very important to me because another company in the past had destroyed some of my stuff and I was pleased to see they were gentle with everything. When my items were delivered, it was on time and intact. Thank you to the guys that helped me move and I will recommend this company to all my friends. Great Job!
