Amazing how much can a service deteriorate in two years

I have been (still am) a customer of Appleseed (later Metro ice) for many many years.
The services provided, until the 2015/2016 were completely satisfactory. I would have rated them st that time as 10 (exceeded expectation). Then came the 2016-17 and was followed by the 2017-18 season.
Those two seasons were a mixed bag of delays, not showing up, unanswered emails, no follow ups, etc.

At least 50 percent of the times I had to call on my neighbor to clear the snow of my driveway or the snow that the city had dumped back to the driveway.

This is a business which managed to move within two years from a 10 star rating to a zero star rating. My sincere advice is two words: Stay Away. If you are, unlike me, healthy enough, do your own shocking of snow and save yourself the $ 320+ for the season since most of the time you will be shoveling your driveway anyway.
Prices: Metro services are a bit overpriced if the services are delivered. With QoS approaching zero, (ie you are paying for not delivered services) the prices are very high.
One last thing: the service season is getting shorter per Mr. Dale’s calendar. Now the season (changed the contract but did not highlight the change) starts Nov 10th. In the past, it was Nov 1st. So the gentleman shortened the season by 10 days start and 5 days ending. That is one half of a month out of 5 months.

Metro lives on its glory past

I am one of the customers who Mr Dale counts in the 90% repeat customers and in the 99.5 % satisfied customers.
I have used this service for many years. Completely satisfied. Not a single issue. Then came the 2016/2017 season.
1- Delays.
2- Not showing up at all.
3- So many times (more than 3 in the season) had to clear snow myself (I am 71 years old and not in good health).

4- Mr. Dale generously refers to the 99.5% satisfied clients. If so, why this season in particular he did not publish the results of his own customer satisfaction survey. He always did in the past.
5- I had every respect for Ken but excuse me sir: This past season you did not do a good job.
6- Adding insult to injury Mr. Dale decided to jack up his prices drastically for the coming season (2018/ 2019).
7- Wait a second: As if this is not enough Mr Dale decided to "shorten" the season. For this coming season, Metro Snow covers you starting Nov 10th (last year it started on November 5 and years before it was earlier.
8- It did not stop here: Your contract now ends April 1st. In the past it ended April 5th or 4th.
9- So in short your price has gone way up, for less reliable service and for a "potentially" 15 days less coverage.

I, of course, did not wait for Mr. Dale (who I personally know and like) to take further advantage. So, I and 2 of the houses on the same street have already signed with another service provider. The same price as Mr. Dale's but hopefully more reliable and less arrogant.
