2 projects down one to go

We hired Scott and his team twice, once for our main floor overhaul where we removed a lot of dated material from our home (wainscotting, multiple types of flooring, update to the stairs and a new window (within the home).
When we first engaged Scott, we had grand plans, but when walking through the home with him, he gave us logical options that would help maximize our home and our renovation dollar. I wanted open doorways opened wider, but with them being load bearing, a suggestion of a window within the wall won us over and saved us thousands of dollars. The outcome, Spectaular! Everyone who sees the finished result notes that it is like a completely different home, very light, open and spacious.
The second project was to be the basement with a new 3 peace bath installed in the basement. Again, when walking through the house, Scott helped us to see where we can make the updates we wanted while saving money. We skipped the bathroom in our basement and instead updated our main floor bathroom (which now goes nicely with the house) with a shower added to it. WOW!! Everyone who has seen it is blown away by the changes made and it saved us $$.
Scotts and his whole team (including other contractors) were wonderful to work with. They were able to handle me (my career is a Project Manager, so I know I can be tough to deal with), my large pup who just loved them all, and my family's schedule of working and schooling at home (during covid school closure) while construction was happening. They stuck to their schedule and before we knew it, it was completed.
Next project is our basement... soon.

Kitchen Renovation

This review is way OVERDUE, but I had forgotten about this site and just remembered it now. We hired Scott and Terry to do a major kitchen renovation. Just after starting the job we ran into problems with Scott. He doesn’t like it if you question his work. We were taking out a sliding door and putting in a window in. When I questioned how high the window was set up Scott proceeded to argue with me and tell me that it’s fine how it is. We have a ravine lot and I wouldn’t be looking into it I’d be staring at a window frame while I washed my dishes. Scott proceeded to say well it is staying how it is and I said we will see about that. After yelling at my husband and I outside in front of our neighbours Scott finally agreed that the window will be placed lower. The work proceeded and we ran into some issues once again. He sent us to a cabinet manufacturer to pic our cupboards. We did however we didn’t pay the cabinet place directly we paid Scott which later became an issue. Also it turned out that the salesman from the Cupboard place was doing side deals with Scott and was fired from the Cupboard manufacturer. Now let’s talk about the the day before the cupboards were to be installed and there was NO ROUGH IN PLUMBING DONE AT ALL! Tiles were laid and yet plumbing hadn’t been done. It was at this point my husband and I were done and we contacted a friend who is a plumber to see if he could come and do the plumbing before the cabinets go in. He showed up the next day as did Scott’s workmen, my friend was able to get the plumbing done just as the cabinet installers arrived it was at this point that Scott starts yelling at me and then says that he won’t allow the installers to install the cabinet and that he will take them out of the house. When I said I paid for them Scott yells NO HE PAID FOR THEM AND THE ORDER IS IN HIS NAME!!! I was visibly upset and told him that the cupboards are in my house and the hell he would take them out. At this point I told him to get out of my house and called my husband to come home when he did we worked out the balance we owed Scott. The installers went forward to install the cupboards and Scott and his buddies were kicked off the site! I wouldn’t recommend this bully to fix a hole in the sidewalk!!! He is as crooked as they come and as I said he is a BULLY!!!

Full home renovation

This review is long overdue. Scott with Dewey and the rest of the team completely renovated our home, from top to bottom, front to back, one year ago. We've just had our first anniversary in our newly renovated home and we can definitely say we are so happy with the results. Scott and his team were amazing. Scott provided us with a quote that was very accurate, and finished within the time frame provided. Not only are Scott and his team professional and extremely good at what they do, they also offer design tips and suggestions that really added an extra to the overall outcome. We would recommend Scott and his team without hesitation!

Bath renovations

We hired this company represented by Scott and Terry for our 2 bathrooms renovation project. The quote that they gave us for this project was on the hight side (compared to other contractors) but they seemed professional and made a good first impression. Scott promised to complete this project in 4 business days because we were stressed for time. On the second day of the job, Scott kept complaining that we bought tiles that are hard to work with (never suggested which ones were suitable for the project). Made us feel like he is doing us a favour to install those tiles. On the 3rd day only one person out of three worked at the site, one was sick and Scott was busy with another project. On the 4th day all three arrived and tried to finish the job quickly to get the money (which we paid in full), as we were flying abroad the next day. Upon our arrival we had a chance to better inspect the job and found some cracks in the grout, some holes between the tiles and because they didn't wait for the grout to dry the last day and put the silicone it looked very dirty. The toilet in the bathroom was full of the grout powder, so it doesn't drain properly. The thermostat in the faucet wasn't installed correctly, therefore we have only hot and cold water. The sink in the other bathroom wasn't draining as well. His partner, Terry, arrived to our place and told us he is there to fix the wall (in which their plumber made a hole to fix the drainage problem) and all the other problems weren't mentioned in advance. He was very emotional and told us we should pay extra $300 for repairs of the wall. We said that all those problems are there because they tried to finish the work quickly and sloppy to get the money.
Then Scott sent my husband a text message that saying he is an "ignorant <swear word>".
NEVER have we felt so humiliated by a person who we hired to do a job for us and payed him 10K.
