Fv Renovations

After the heavy rain that we have experienced this summer, I noticed there was a leak in my sunroom which probably has been there for many years because I pulled back some old stick and peel tiles and noticed the subfloor below the leak was mushy. Called Fabiano right away to come take a look and he gave me a quote and walkthrough of the job of fixing the interior and exterior to waterproof the area for prevention. They completed the job within one week and I haven't seen a leak since! Happy about the job and I'm less stressed about it.

I had 2 separate areas in my backyard that I wanted to connect (side and kitchen deck). Fabiano and his team were able to make my vision come to light, always answering my questions along the way and adapting the project to my requests. They came promptly and kept me informed, and tidied up at the end of each day. FV renovations have now done several projects in my home and I am very satisfied with their work. They have to come back and stain the deck but I just had to start enjoying it lol. I continue to recommend them to everyone I know. Thank you Fabiano and team for everything!

We worked with Fabiano 2 more times in 2023 (originally had him and his team do a major project in 2022) and were extremely happy with the results.

First project was helping us with some work in our ensuite bathroom/closet including fixing our closet and custom fitting an Ikea Pax wardrobe for improved functionality. As well as installing a fan to reduce humidity. Everything came out very well and the project was done in a very timely manner

Second project (part A) was removal of an old "shed". It was completed in 1.5 days (ahead of schedule) and we were thrilled to have it gone! Big thanks to Paolo on that one
Second project (part B) was improving the backyard space with things including:
- adding 2 electrical outlets for a new garage door and general needs
- removing old concrete and pouring new
- fixing a concrete wall that was not in great shape
- rebuilding back stairs and adding railing
- adding small fence
- adding stucco and removing old material
Everything turned out great and we were extremely satisfied with his teams work on the stairs and fence, the electrician he hired for the electrical and the stucco person did a fantastic job. The only part we were not as happy with was the concrete person was not overly reliable on his schedule and would sometimes make changes to plans without communicating. Luckily Fabiano would be on top of it. I will say we are happy with the poured concrete at the end of the day so the job was finished well there.

Fabiano provides fair prices and realistic estimates on work and has been a trusted contractor for us for the past two years. We have enjoyed working with him.

It's our second time hiring FV Renovations, and once again, they've done a remarkable job. They previously renovated our upstairs washroom, delivering excellent results, which led us to hire them again for our basement and basement washroom project.

Fabiano and his team did not disappoint us. Our house, being over 100 years old, presented some unforeseen challenges, including mold, termites, and water leaks discovered behind the walls. Fabiano quickly assessed these issues and proposed budget-friendly solutions. Despite these challenges, they managed to complete the work in a reasonable timeframe, maintaining the lowest possible cost. Their expertise and know-how in handling such problems are truly commendable.

I would recommend FV Renovations, and I would definitely hire them again for future projects. The entire team is not only professional and friendly, but their communication, especially with Fabiano, is outstanding. They offer competitive pricing, which adds to their appeal. Most importantly, the quality of their work is exceptional. We absolutely love our new washroom and basement.

Fabiano did two jobs for us (this time), a full basement reno and a subsequent mini basement reno after we experienced a bit of flooding. We are very happy with the work for both projects. First one took a lot longer to finish than we hoped as I guess he was juggling other projects, but that's fine. Second job was done quickly which we appreciate. Fabiano is a good communicator and has a good team around him. We would not hesitate to use him again for our next project.

Worst contractor we have ever worked with. If you are considering working with Fabiano, DO NOT pay for any work until AFTER its done. There was a major feature of our contract that he later claimed was not in the contact, even though its there in black and white. So we are now suing him.
In addition to not honouring the contract that he himself wrote, here are other issues with him:
-every other contractor weve ever worked with has set up their saws outside; these guys set up their saws inside - cutting tiles and drywall inside the house - so the entire house was a nasty mess
-he said he would cover up our treadmill to protect it but he didnt, so the motor got so filled with construction debris that our $2000 treadmill had to go to the garbage
-for no reason, they took the door off a closet that wasnt part of the project - since it wasnt part of the project, we hadnt emptied it, so everything got so covered in grime, we had to throw everything away that was in there, like our Christmas tree and all our luggage
-communication was so bad, his guys were making design decisions without our input, and they were terrible
-every time we questioned a weird thing they did, he said its code but he clearly has no idea that anyone with access to Google can look up Ontario building codes and none of his nonsense was actually code
-we wasted over $1000 in flooring costs because he so badly miscalculated the area for flooring and tiles that we ended up buying more than double what we actually needed
-his team was so inept that we lost track of the number of times something had to be completely redone, while other things we had to hire someone else to finish
-they did a lot work the first week, but after that, days would by when no one showed up and he didnt contact us to let us know whats going on, or someone would come for only an hour that day, so the project took over double the time he indicated on the contract, and in the end he didnt even finish the job although we paid him for the work.
We tried to work something out with him, but he has gone silent on us, and now were going to court to recover the thousands of dollars it cost us for someone else to finish the work that we paid him for but he didnt do.

This is our second time using Fabianos services - the first time was for personal renovations on our home, and this time he did some renovations on our small business located in the Beaches of Toronto. Fabiano was very understanding of the fact that we needed to keep to a strict timeline as our business was closed during renovations and therefore not bringing in revenue- he maintained the timeline and was actually done ahead of schedule which was greatly appreciated, all while not compromised on quality. Would definitely work with Fabiano again and recommend him to anybody!
